Phone is not working and BBY unwilling to help

I bought two Motorola Moto X Pure phones (new and refurbished) to send overseas. The new phone worked with a SIM card however the refurbished one did not. I spoke to Best Buy customer service (CS) representative who was unwilling to listen to me and asked me to contact Motorola as it was outside of the 14 day warranty period. The CS rep condescendingly told me that there is nothing to putting the SIM in and it should work. I know this is not strictly a product review but is relevant as you are out of luck if the refurbished phone doesn't work past the 14 day return window.

$350 dollar phone. Reviews called it a sturdy no frills smart phone. Drop it spalsh it, no problem. Turns out Moto G5 series has faulty parts. Only to be repaired with faulty replacement parts. Hardware failure at 18 months. Repair shop said they would do it, but suggested replacement instead. I am No Contract, and don't want a new phone every other year. I bought Motorola because they do unlocked. No Mo Moto!

I'd like to start off by saying my phone died yesterday, 1 month after BB's 90 day warranty ended. SUPER. I have to take it in to be serviced, but was warned it is quite possibly due to using the Samsung charger BB sends with this refurbished phone. So, beware. Regarding the phone itself, it has some wonky stuff like apps just shutting down, nothing major, just annoying. I bought it for the amazing camera and video and haven't been disappointed. It does a great job (except it's not great with moving objects, like my 3 small kids...) The voice activated commands such as "take a selfie" are really cool and helpful, but it's not great at hearing you, even when it's dead silent otherwise I have to repeat myself several times before it gets it right. Overall, a great bang for your buck. My main warning is about the non-Motorola charger BB sends with it. I complained about it when I received it, but they simply said that they cannot guarantee original chargers with refurbished phones, and they don't sell it separately so couldn't offer one. Now that the phone has died (says it's charging but won't actually charge), I will have to follow up with them.

Ok phone - not too different from Nexus 6

The phone arrived in good physical condition. There is not OEM charger included as others have previously stated. It comes with a junkie after market wall trickle charger. I previously had a speed charger that I use, so it wasn't a big deal for me. The phone did however come with an incomplete Android OS that caused it activation problems and problems syncing with Google. The Google Services was disabled in the phone and had no way of enabling it (in layman's terms). The only way to fix it is to factory default the phone again and start from scratch. This isn't a big deal to me because I deal with this stuff all the time. But for the average Joe, they may not know what to do and get frustrated. They would probably ship it back or drive to a store to get it looked at. I don't think a customer should have to do this after spending even $220 for a device. So - here's a tip to those that read this. If you buy one of these or any Android OS phone and Google Services is missing or hosed - factory default the phone first and then try again.

    Two phones with problems

I purchased a refurbished Moto X Pure after dropping my Nexus 6 that I also got refurbished but from somewhere else (rhymes with coupon) The Nexus worked perfectly until I broke the screen. The phones are pretty comparable. However, the first Moto X Pure I received from Best Buy which was in perfect condition physically, had a glitchy screen that turned green with green stripes. So, I returned it and attempted with a second Moto X Pure. When I would call people on the second phone they always complained that I sounded like I was under water. So, I returned that one too and just got a refund. I gave two stars because the phones had great potential, but weren't refurbished well. I didn't expect them to be perfect, but I did expect them to be in "like new/close to new" working order. Perhaps my expectations were too high.

I wanted a economical phone for my son that would not require a contract. This Moto has great specs and fit the bill. The phone arrived quickly and was well packaged. I was saddenned when we took it to the Sprint store to get a SIM installed so it could be activated and the SIM was not recognized. This was a repair center, so the tech was knowledgeable. He thought it was a fluke and tried a second SIM. That SIM was not recognized either. Upon inspection of the SIMS, the tech noted that the pins on the inside if the SIM drawer gouged chunks off the surface of both SIM cards rendering them unrecognizable and unusable. My son was very disappointed, as otherwise it appeared to be a great phone in beautiful condition. There were no problems with the in store return. I would like to try another unit, but I am afraid I could run into the same problem.

Product is good for the price however the charger came with is Samsung adapter and some cheap different usb cable. Also headphone and original box is missing. Didnt expect such a bad experience with Best Buy.
