The tech was courteous and on time. Only issue I have was the mount above the fireplace where studs were seems to have been torqued to much by the drilling of bolts which caused some of the screws in the studs to be exposed. I realized after watching the instructional video from the mount I purchashed that instructed the bolts be tourqued by hand with a socket wrench. I later did a another room myself and had no problem doing it in by hand in this manner and not having exposed stud screws

TV installation gone horrible

I was highly disappointed. I paid to have my TV mounted over the fireplace as a Christmas gift to my parents. I reviewed my order multiple times with the Rep. placing the order to ensure all of the power & video cables would be hidden. I was assured they would be hidden behind the walls. It was never suggested that the installer could run into any possible problems. I guess because my parents were older the installer totally disregarded professionalism and didn't give me a call back. If there was a problem, then I should have been notified before the installation proceeded. I sent the following pic to the manager and told them this was not acceptable. I was offered a $79 reduction in the cost. The savings would allow me to bring out an electrician to hide the wires. Best Buy\Geek Squad quoted me a $479 to have this service completed. I selected the tech plan because it would reduce the cost of the TV installation, but at this rate. I'm not sure if I care to have the tech plan. I could have simply hired the electrician to do the complete job. Review PICS. It is no way, you would leave a customer house in this condition.. and we paid for the premium service.

It's just a TV mounting. It's either right or wrong. And in this case, it's wrong.
Thanks to the GeekSquad, my fireplace mantle was damaged in the process and needs to be replaced. It just can't be sanded down because we would lose the 90 degree angle on the edge of the mantle. Plus, when the mantle is replaced the repair job will involve the space immediately around the damaged area which will include where the TV is located, so the TV has to come down for 3 days and then be mounted again. The wall has to be repaired and painted.
I've had to file a claim with BestBuy since the installer didn't do it. And I've had to contact repair companies to get quotes. It's been almost a month, and it's still not fixed.
That's a huge inconvenience for me since it's BestBuy's fault. That's time and effort I will never get back.
Thanks for the crappy job, BB! Next time, do your job.

3 Fails and still not done

First visit, 2 techs, felt rushed and they said they didn't have long enough cable to run through conduit that electrician had installed. Should have been EASY job. Never bothered with sound bar or hooking up other components (DVD, etc.)
Second visit, 1 tech showed up at 7pm in 1-8pm window with NO equipment to thread cable (that I purchased in various sizes to be prepared). Went to purchase equip, called at 10:15 to say he would call next day, never called or returned. Nothing was completed.
Called Geek squad to get job completed, after 30min on phone, they said they would call me back. This was 6 hours ago. No call so far.
Seriously, this should have been easy. Find another way to get your Tech service done. I could have done this myself and saved a whole bunch of aggravation and money.

I was quoted $50 to install each of my tvs. Both mounts were already on the wall. The short installer had to borrow my ladder. After 20-25 minutes he said there was a problem! Really?
He charged me $100 cause he had no idea what he was doing! Be careful, if you get an incompetent geek, they are going to charge full price! They left my cords hanging and the tv is not centered above my fire place!

The installed my tv and sound bar. They were pretty quick. They said the tv was straight just use a leveler. The tv was loose so you couldn't put the tv against the wall. When you tried to straighten the tv it goes back down. Also the sound bar doesnt work right and its crooked. Ive been trying to get it fixed the day after the installed it.
