Perfect entry into serious sim setups
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For years, I resisted the urge to add a wheel to my setup. Controllers are good enough, I told myself…but then this bundle from MOZA came along, offering many advanced features at a price point that wasn’t totally crazy. I figured I’d give it a spin, and see if the hype about a wheel and pedal setups was true. For this enthusiast bundle, MOZA has centered on their R5 direct drive force feedback base. Accompanying the base are the SR-P lite pedals and the ES steering wheel. Everything is well packed in the box, along with a basic getting started guide, the power supply, a cable to connect the pedals to the base, some screws, bolts, and wrenches, and a USB cable to connect to the PC. Getting the clamp attached to the wheel base just involves 4 bolts. Mount the clamp on the desk, connect the cables, line up the wheel and just push it into the base, and you are ready to power up and get started. The R5 base provides plenty of strength and is compatible with all of the current MOZA wheels. It’s compact, but still offers great fidelity and enough power that you can feel the road. The wheel is a pretty typical “GT” style wheel. The leather wrap feels nice in the hands, and the button layout is intuitively laid out with a D pad and traditional ABXY buttons, along with several other buttons and the shift paddles. It all feels very high quality. If I had any complaint, it would be that the buttons are not backlit. After a while you get used to where they are, but even a basic single color backlight would have been handy here. The pedals work well for what they are. The base is not very heavy and you may need to mount it to something to keep it from moving during spirited driving depending on the floor it’s on. These aren’t the most advanced pedals out there, but for getting started in more serious simulator racing, they certainly do the job. MOZA’s software is pretty good, with tons of options that have built in descriptions to help figure out what everything does. Calibrating the pedals and centering the wheel are all easy, and then you are pretty much ready to go! Using a direct drive base, wheel, and pedals is a revelation. Now I finally understand what the hype is all about. Controllers are a sad substitute for a true wheel and pedal setup. Ripping though the gears with the shift paddles, feeling the road tug and push the car, the force of an impact, all delivered with high fidelity through the wheel, is an entirely different level of immersion. The shift indicators lighting up and then flicking the shift paddles feels like a real race car. I found myself just driving around for the fun of it in Forza Horizon 5, almost feeling like I was really driving a real car, just enjoying the scenery and feeling connected to the car. The R5 base provides strong force feedback, and while there are even stronger bases out there, this is plenty for most gamers. It’s kind of the perfect blend of size and strength. One little quirk, and this is not the fault of MOZA, is that to get the system to work in Forza Horizon 5 requires loading a special config file and setting up a few things. MOZA provides easy to follow step by step instructions, and it was working in just a few minutes. Overall, this setup is a great balance of features, performance, and price. If you are moving up from a basic wheel to a direct drive, or wanting to spend once on a setup that will have plenty of features and staying power, this is one you should consider.

Gear Drive to Direct Drive - Worth the Jump!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me cut to the chase - if you're still grinding away on a Logitech G923 or similar gear-driven wheel and wondering if direct drive is worth the hype, the Moza R5 bundle answers that question with a resounding yes. After spending years troubleshooting everything from servers to gaming setups, I've learned that sometimes the jump from "good enough" to "genuinely good" transforms your entire experience. First impressions matter, and the R5 doesn't disappoint. The aviation-grade aluminum wheelbase feels like it means business, not like the plastic toys many of us started with. Setup was refreshingly straightforward: connect a few cables, install the Pit House software, and you're racing. No driver headaches, no compatibility nightmares. The ES steering wheel clicks into place with a satisfying mechanical precision that screams quality, though I'll admit the synthetic leather isn't quite as premium as what you'd find on higher-end wheels. At this price point, I'm more interested in function than luxury. The star of the show is that 5.5Nm direct drive motor. In plain English? It's the difference between playing a video game and feeling like you're actually driving. Every bump, every loss of traction, every subtle change in the road surface translates through the wheel with zero delay. Coming from gear or belt-driven systems, the silence is almost eerie. No more grinding gears drowning out your engine sounds. The force feedback has enough strength to give your arms a workout in longer races, but it won't rip the wheel from your hands like some of the 15Nm+ monsters out there. For most of us, it's the sweet spot between immersion and usability. Here's where the Moza ecosystem shines. That quick-release system isn't just a gimmick. It opens up a world of wheel options as your skills (and budget) grow. The Pit House software might not win any UI design awards, but it gets the job done with enough customization options to dial in your preferred feel across different sims. Want more rotation for drifting? Less force feedback for endurance races? It's all there, and more importantly, it actually works without requiring a computer science degree to figure out. Bottom line: if you're ready to graduate from entry-level gear but aren't prepared to drop $1,000+ on a high-end setup, the R5 bundle hits the sweet spot. Is it perfect? No - those pedals will eventually need upgrading, and if you're a console gamer, you'll need to look elsewhere. But for PC sim racers who want to experience what direct drive is all about without breaking the bank, this is your ticket.

Solid Hardware, Solid Product
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Moza Racing Simulator Wheels and Pedals are replacing a much more budget friendly setup I had installed previously that I was pleased with. However, the previous setup was plastic based and over time of letting a very excitable child play his games with it, I found myself pulling out the soldering iron and building brackets to fix the wear and tear of that device. So when this Moza setup became available, I could not turn down the opportunity to see what a higher price point setup had to offer. Spoiler: Totally worth it! Immediately out of the box you will feel why this product demands a more premium price point than some other options out there. This Steering wheel and pedal combo includes a lot of aluminum, steel, and leather that will excite even the most mild tempered gamer. The steering wheel just radiates on exotic feel and when mounted to the direct drive base unlocks your chance to feel like you are in an exotic car cockpit without the six figure investment. While on the topic, the steering wheel has a very slick quick disconnect function that will scratch that itch for all of you Nascar fans out there. When your session is over, press the connection collar, disconnect the steering wheel, and hang it up like the pros do! Simple, but a really cool feature that will allow you to mount the steering wheel base at a multiuse desk, but remove the wheel itself to free up desk space for other less exhilarating activities. This setup includes a gas and brake pedal that are also very rigid. Out of the box they are extremely far apart with the brake being even farther apart than a clutch pedal would be in most cars. However, this pedal base is modular and you can adjust pedal spacing to your liking, as well as pedal feel and engagement. This steering wheel does include force feedback, which I love, however does require some fine tuning out of the box. During most of the testing, this setup was used with BeamNG, which is very customizable and after a couple hours of testing and key binds, I was able to get the steering wheel to my liking. I will say that if you are using this steering wheel for similar, the force feedback needs turned WAY down as the wheel base has a pretty powerful motor and at factory settings will overbearing. Moza does have its own program called the Pit House which is fairly intuitive. They also market an app, however I was not able to get it to work successfully with the steering wheel. Using the Pit House program, it will walk you through initial calibration which is quick and simple. Minor problem was that after I went through the initial calibration and got everything set up for my liking, I was advised that there was a firmware update, and the new update requires you to recalibrate everything again from scratch. So pro-tip...skip calibration until you update firmware. I like this steering wheel. I REALLY like this steering wheel. My only true complaint is the setup instructions and hardware...or lack there of. There are setup instructions included, however they read like laundry instructions for a suit. Writing is not descriptive, no helpful images, and no list of included hardware. Some bolts, washers, and nuts are included, however which ones you use are a matter of trial and error and there is no listing of what parts are included with the kit. I ended up needing a few additional bolts and nuts to affix this setup to my simulation rig, however I got it done and now I am doing nothing but enjoying my experience with the Moza Racing R5 Racing Simulator and am looking at adding on with their other accessories. Don't let the price tag drive you away. This setup is work the leap!

All around great racing wheel!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great racing simulator wheel and pedal bundle! While I used a Logitech G920 for several years, it wasn’t until lately that I became interested in MOZA. And right off the bat, the MOZA R5 bundle was exceptional. The bundle is easy to set up and comes with all attachment parts, bolts for a cockpit and a desk mount. I used the desk mount and it was way better than my old Logitech’s. The desk mount is very secure but does take time to put onto a thin desk and you really have to screw it tighter than you would think to prevent slip. The wheelbase, wheel face, paddles, pedals, baseplate, and desk mount are made from metal and feel solid. The wheel itself is comfortable and smooth yet still has grip. I love how the wheel has shift lights that can be customized for different cars and different games. The buttons on the wheel are also positioned in easy to reach places which is great for car adjustments midrace. The paddles feel solid and offer a nice tactile sound when depressed. The pedals feel amazing and might be my favorite part. They are incredibly light but are still solid and balanced, even on carpet. The pedals height and spacing can be adjusted and a clutch pedal can be bought separately. The pedals themselves offer just the right amount of resistance, in my opinion, so that the throttle is easy to be precise as well as the brake. The baseplate for the pedals is light but still offers a strong solid base that doesn't move around too easily on carpet. The connections are super easy to attach and are accessible, right on the back instead of underneath like the G920. The Force Feedback is absolutely phenomenal! It's easy to adjust using the MOZA PitHouse and the feedback, steering angle, damping, friction, and in-game effects can all be customized and then easily saved as a preset. I’ve tried this wheel out on 4 games; Assetto Corsa Competizione (ACC), Le Mans Ultimate (LMU), BeamNG.Drive, and EA World Rally Championship (EA WRC). On ACC, the wheel is amazing and has its own base preset in the PitHouse. The wheel is absolutely incredible and feels alive. I’ve found myself setting faster lap times because I have more precision with the pedals and feeling the grip. The buttons were amazing to adjust my ABS, TC, TC2, Brake Bias, and engine mapping in between turns easily. Just make sure to really tighten the desk clamps before a race. During one of my sessions I thought I tightened it well but the right one wasn’t screwed down enough and the wheelbase rotated and I had a hard time putting it back. If you think it's tight enough, keep going until you feel like you can't anymore. For LMU, I had a hard time setting up the wheel to make it feel right. I most likely set it up wrong for LMU because it felt like trying to balance an egg on a spoon. When I would turn the wheel a bit, I had to fight the wheel because the car felt like it was trying to turn into the wall. Maybe that's just the way LMU is but some more experimenting and setup might be needed. But the game where I felt the most out of the wheel was EA WRC. I instantly felt like I could feel each surface, like asphalt, gravel, sand, snow, and ice. The FFB was insane and the pedals allowed me to keep the car going 100 MPH through the bends. I could feel the car's weight transferring to one side and I could add more rotation in turns with the smooth brake and throttle. In fact, on my first run I beat my old record, which I had to sweat for, with ease. The fact that the wheel can be adjusted so easily is extremely useful. Overall, I highly recommend this Moza Racing simulator wheel and pedal bundle!

Almost perfect starter sim racing setup
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Coming from the Thrustmaster ecosystem of racing setup, this was a welcome breath of fresh air. This Moza wheel and pedals set really feel like the perfect entry level gear for anyone looking to get into sim racing. The Moza ecosystem is also perfect for expanding into and the software to configure it all is one of the best I have used. When setting up this wheel for the first time, everything was seamless. On the PC, after downloading their software, everything was detected and functioning without problems. The wheel base mounted to my Obutto rig without a problem. The pedals were also fine, but the included fasteners were a little questionable. The screws were barely long enough to thread in. The nuts they provided did not fit the other flush mount screws provided so I had to buy some externally. Also, if you were to secure the pedals to a base plate, you have to remove the rubber pads which are glued in (sort of). Even so, after removing the pads, there is still a small gap between the pedals and my base plate that I had to shove some wood under or else it would start rocking around. All of this could have been avoided if the plastic bushings they provided were the correct length, and also maybe they should consider including longer screws so the rubber pads did not have to be removed. Other than that, if I did have to buy extra screws, there are a generous amount of mounting points on the pedals that this would not be a problem. On the first use of the wheels, one thing was immediately apparent. Since this is a direct drive system, it was completely silent! I was so used to the fans from the belt driven T300 that it was stunning being able to hear my in game sounds clearly. This is advertised as 5.5Nm of force, and in my opinion it is basically perfect. I run it at 90% and it can get tiring after a couple of hours. The feedback from the game’s perspective is sent through to the wheel and you can feel the different types of surfaces being driven on. The pedals are also nice and responsive. There is a little room for adjustment, and even expansion into the future for a clutch pedal. I like the ease of the adjustments, but it is disappointing that they did not include a full plate for the throttle pedal. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with this wheel bundle. With lots of room for easy future expansion, I can see a lot of potential for this ecosystem. There are minor gripes, but they can be easily fixed with some minor external work. I would absolutely recommend this for a starter set. The perfect force feedback, the upgradability, and the ease of setup just makes gaming with this so much more fun.

Best Entry Level Kit
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Moza R5 Bundle is the complete racing simulator starter kit for those looking to upgrade and have a serious setup. I currently have a GTR Pro Model Racing Simulator with a 49 Ultrawide Monitor. I removed my old entry level steering wheel and pedals and pulled out the MOZA R5 bundle. The first thing I noticed was high quality parts with premium metals and materials applied to the Core wheelbase and pedal construction. Pros: Very sturdy base Easy to install- Plug and Play Balanced Torque feedback Customizable resistance and settings Cons: No Clutch Pedal? Additional Cost.. Setup: 9/10 Having setup a few different sim racing setups before this was pretty straight forward. The instructions were simple to follow as I wanted to make sure I wasn't messing anything up. A pro tip: Make sure you are adding the system in the game you are playing, I tested on Sim Racing, Forza Horizon 5 and Assetto Corsa Evo. These were fairly easy to map to and function as intended. Sim Racing of course allowed for some better refinements for more feedback and adjusting the pedal pressure sensitivity outside the APP. The Unit 10/10 This isn't your $2-3K Drive unit, what this is is an entry level drive unit that gives you an entry point with a 5.5Nm Torque feedback that blurs the line between casual and sim characteristics. It allows for sufficient immersion which everyone can handle from the start and get into the fun feedback of racing elements. An additional factor i like is it is made from Aviation grade aluminum. Pedals: 7/10 This area was my only gripe or negative because lower end models from other brands offer a clutch standard. This model doe snot include the SR-P lite Clutch pedal, which cost an additional $43 not bad but just include it as an all in one solution. The pedals are the SR-P Lite Pedals and when I was looking they do have the Hall sensors used for the feedback and pressure. The pedals also do have the anti slip coating on them. ( Side Note) Additionally, they do sell a Performance kit for $29 ( per pedal) that still isn't a load cell quality but the extra resistance is given via a spring. ( I purchased this upgrade and the clutch to try their whole offering. ( The upgrades aren't really needed if you are just looking for a quick plug and race a few and remove). Overall: 9/10 I like the base package that is presented in this, mainly the build, construction and its quality at the price point. I had zero issues with this product across all my games, and actually enjoyed the sim racing aspect on sim racing and felt better performance over entry level products. I highly recommend this for someone just getting into the hobby of becoming semi serious versus a controller.

Excellent, versatile wheel / pedal package
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought my teenage son this for his 13th birthday as he is getting into IRacing and also plays racing games on Roblox and Steam. He was able to handle all assembly, calibration and connection himself without assistance. Connects to Roblox racing games using a utility program to emulate XBox. He loves this R5 package and my impression is that it is a high quality product (yea.. I played a little too after he set it all up). Definitely a good purchase!

Great upgrade from my previous gaming wheel
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In the box is the simulator wheel, wheel base, connecting cables, pedal(s), mounting screws and Moza stickers. First Impression – The wheel quality is really heavy, sturdy and almost feels military grade. Compared to my older different brand simulator wheel, the power base is much smaller. Installation – I currently own a gaming racing sim chair and the installation was easy and painless. Everything provided transferred over to my sim chair with ease. Software/App – Beware, when you download the software, it’s a zip file that you have to open and find the executable file to open the software. Once the software is installed, it immediately takes you to update the frameware. This is HIGHLY recommended, as the wheel works better with the updated software. Simulator Wheel/Pedal Bundle – For me the setup was time consuming. (It took me about an hour to set up the specs with the racing games that I play.) I did like the force feedback the steering wheel gives, its very realistic and the features that come with the steering wheel; the programmable buttons, real race disconnect, the shifter buttons and paddles. The shifter buttons and paddles, as well as the gas and break pedal, feel like a real racing car. I also liked that the company itself, has a wide range of attachments to expand your level of control. Overall, I would recommend this product to friends and family.

Great Entry Level Racing Simulator Bundle
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Moza has another racing simulator wheel with the R5 in it’s lineup. The R5 takes racing games up to a new level. The wheel and pedal bundle add to the realism of racing simulator games. Steering Base/Pedal Base The R5 base has enough weight to keep it on your desk and the c-clamps help secure it well. The amount of space involving the c-clamp helps it to support desks that have a thick top and the clamps will also support securing to a think desk top. Mounting it was simple and quick. The pedal base allowed me to adjust the pedal spacing to my preference. The cable that comes with the bundle was long enough to connect the pedals to the steering base. The connector ports for the base are on the back of it. They’re easy to access and the ports on the pedal base are on the side which are also easy to access. The only thing I would like to see changed would be with the pedal base. I would have liked for it to have had more weight to it. Steering Wheel The steering wheel is covered in leather which feels more like a performance steering wheel. It has plenty of of controls built onto it. I can access all of the controls while keeping my hands on the wheels. The layout is helpful to me for quick easy access while in game. The paddle shifters are also easy to use and are positioned to feel as they would in a real race car. To me, it felt good to use if for hours of game play. App Moza has made the Moza Pit House control software. This is where I set all of the setting for how the steering wheel and pedals feel. The software is straight forward and easy to use. Moza Pit House is also what is used to update firmware for components. Accessories/Support Moza makes many accessories for their racing wheels and pedal bases. I like that I can add a clutch, shifter, handbrake, different steering wheel, and sticker set to the R5. Moza supports many racing simulator games. I hope they continue to add to the list. As long as Moza continues to do that, I’ll be able to use this for a long time. Final Thoughts I’m happy with the R5. I like that I can add to it in the future when I want to due to the accessories that Moza makes. I also like the adjustments that I can make to the steering and pedals. Like many control devices, the manufacturer will need to stay on top of supporting new games as they come out. As long as Moza continues to do that, I’ll be able to use the R5 for a very long time. This is one of Moza’s entry level racing simulator wheels and pedals. It is more than enough for those wanting to get into racing simulator games without going overboard in price. And it has worked very well for me. If you are wanting to try out racing games, then consider the R5 as a way to step up the realism at a good price. If you are full on into it, then look into the higher level offerings from Moza. They have many.

Excellent direct drive racing bundle!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Moza Racing R5 sim wheel and pedal bundle is a great direct drive racing bundle and I can recommend it right away for anyone looking to either get into racing sims or for anyone looking to upgrade their setup. While the R5 is not the highest end racing sim system, it is an outstanding upgrade to older sim wheels or if you are looking for a good midway entry point into the racing sim kits. I really appreciate the fact that Moza uses easily replaceable parts for their systems while having great documentation for customizing and creating your own accessories. The cables for adding accessories are all standard RJ11 or RJ45 cables that you can buy or make yourself to replace faulty cables or to give yourself extra length where needed. Standard screws that you can get from any hardware store and outstanding documentation with measurements of the racing wheel and it's bolt patterns allows you to create and add your own accessories and customizations. The hardware is great, and while the pedals feel a bit "mushy", it makes for a great racing experience that only gets better as you add more accessories. If you ever decide to upgrade to a racing sim cockpit, Moza's documentation and standardized bolting patterns will make it easy to create a more realistic racing experience for you. I personally feel like the software, MOZA Pit House, was not all that difficult to use while providing many options for customization. I can understand how some people would have issues with the software, but for myself it wasn't an issue. Again I feel like this is a great entry point into racing sims and I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to get into or upgrade their racing sim setups.

Realistic driving experience, fully customize, upg
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This steering wheel bundle includes the direct drive inverter for similar racing/driving feedback while in use. The steering wheel (11 inch/~28cm) is leather wrapped to give it the realistic feeling of driving with the quick release wheel for the true racing feel. There is the included base clamp to connect the system to a desk for use. The included peddle set is easily adjusted to customize your driving style needs. All of this may be used with/out a racing stand and all components to the set are upgradable through additional kit purchases to mod your setup to you. On a final note, this is designed for use with a PC and is not compatible with any video gaming systems, tested only a on gaming PC setup environment where MOZA Pit House was utilized. If you are an avid racer, enjoy truck driving, and other driving simulators this is for you.

Fantastic Controller That Puts You in the Game
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love racing games. I typically use a joystick or similar device. This is the first time I have tried a racing wheel and it absolutely the way to playback g games. First, this steering controller feels premium. It has leather and steel construction and very natural to use. It attaches firmly to the desk and the pedals are comfortable and natural feeling. The Moza Pit House software is one of the best configuration software I have used. It has multiple driving modes including formula, rally, drifting and GT. I found it easy to switch modes based on the type of racing game. The customer setup for the different controls allow you to adjust as you see fit. I am an F1 fan and mostly play F1 2025. I have played the game with a joypad and now this driving bundle. This makes the experience significantly more fun and realistic. I have used a preset mode and haven’t had the need to do any custom tweaking. For the price, this device checks all the boxes for a driving controller. I would gladly recommend this to anyone.
