My son wanted a laptop for gaming and pictures and loves it

There's power in them there keys! A great, powerful laptop if you want to game on the go. Does not output as much as I'd like, especially when running a game and all the fans kick in, but it's a minor quibble. With a laptop you're likely to be playing with headphones a lot as well.

Great performing laptop for the price with good ergonomics.

I absolutely love this laptop. As a freshman attending university who loves gaming, It has everything I need. It is lightweight, great battery life and an insane GPU and CPU. It gets a little bit warm when it is run on high settings but I usually has a cooler pad with me so I'm totally fine with it. The thin bezels only make it look more elegant. Plus, I love the non-MSI- tradition of gold and black casing. All in all, I would recommend for anyone who prefer lightweight, long batter life gaming laptop.

I had a Asus Rog Gu501G with the same processor but it had a 1060 instead of the MSI 1070, my ROGs speakers quit working so I returned it to get the MSI , overall the MSI seems to be built about the same as the asus, but the MSI is way thinner and the bezel on the screen is almost non existent. the MSI is fast but it does heat up pretty fast when gaming or editing, I bought a additional fan for the laptop that I can rest the laptop on I recommend getting more cooling for this bad boy. Overall I really like this laptop only thing that bugged me was the storage this thing has little to no storage for games, so don't expect to use this as a main gaming station, its more of a Business class gaming laptop. as for being vr ready is awesome ill be taking advantage of that in the future.

This laptop is fast, but it comes with minor problems that started showing up within a month of use. One issue that I have is that when single connection headphones (e.g. Apple headphones or any generic headphones) are plugged into the audio port, the microphone on the headphones doesn't do anything. Another issue is that within a month, the laptop randomly stopped connecting to wifi. Also, the laptop occasionally doesn't play sound from its speakers when unplugging the headphones. For its price, the laptop should have come with less problems and options for earbud users. It is fast though.
