    Excellent system, all around

This is actually my second GS63VR, I originally bough the 1.5k model 001 (only at best buy i believe) but the screen was unimpressive in terms of brightness and contrast. It was ok, but I preferred to stretch a bit and get the 034 (this model). The two main differences with the cheaper one are: 1) The screen quality is amazing ... ~280 nits full sRGBA - excellent 2) The SSD is 256GB which is more than sufficient for the OS. I will not say everything that has already been said about this system.. specs wise, it runs REALLY REALLY well. The i7 6700HQ and the GTX 1060 work at full capacity, as opposed to other brands (such as Razer) which opt for underfedding the voltage to reduce temperatures etc... (you can confirm this by simply running free benchmarks such as firestrike etc.. - iget 9750 on stock with this laptop - razer gets ~9100) contrary to many other reviews, this machine does NOT run hot at all considering the form factor. MSI did an amazing job re-designing the cooling system... playing battlefield 1 on Ultra @ 1080p and DX12... I get around 80-81 celsius on the GPU and 80-85 on the CPU... that is more than tolerable for a machine of this caliber. The second thing to highlight is battery life. For a gaming portable machine, it is quite impressive. I can get 4:30 - 5:30 hrs of work... i forgot my charger at the office yesterday and was able to work from 7 till midnight at home with excel, visual studio and chrome with no compromises. Anoher components which is way above par is the number of ports you have .... everything you can think of (but VGA) is there. Period.. thunderbolt 3, mini displayport, hdmi, 4 usb, ethernet, sd card... you name it. CONS: - Speakers... not very good. Here MSI dropped the ball quite a bit. This heavily rely on a software called Nahimic... it got much better than the sucky first versions. I can listen to music and play games no problem. Just don't expect studio quality sound. - Pre-installed software: out of the box, uninstall winzip (god...), MUSIX (what is that?) Norton (obsolete since windows defender) and if you are like me, you can get rid of all the MSI "non critical packages" such as "Social Collection" and "MSI Reminder" - I DO NOT RECOMMEND uninstalling anything else from MSI, for the software they provide to manage the machine (Dragon Center, SCM, True Color ..) is top-notch. I am sure you will enjoy this machine.

It is a well built laptop. recommend for those who are looking for a gaming laptop and being very portable. The only down side about it is that it can get loud due to getting hot but that's just one down side for myself. After all, it has a GTX 1060.

This is a good computer for those who want a laptop and are gamers. Pros: 1. Keyboard lights up for night time gaming so you don't want up your girlfriend/wife, your boyfriend/husband or anyone else that you live with. 2. You can customize the coloring of the keyboard to what ever shade of color you desire and then having brighter or dimmer depending on what you want. Cons: 1. Not enough power from the motherboard for heavy graphical games. 2. If the brightness on the keys is to high you have a reflection of them on the screen. 3. The higher your graphics are the less the battery life you have.

Honestly, I should have read the reviews before purchasing - for some reason, I walked around the computer section in store for like an hour and a half before finally seeing this one. The rainbow keyboard caught my eye, it's gorgeous and adjustable. The stats looked good and it was small and light-weight, which was a huge bonus because I've always had big clunky laptops. After using it for a bit, I love it. It has amazing graphics, the memory should be perfectly adequate, it's fast and I literally love almost every single thing about it. I use it mainly for gaming, but it works perfectly fine for my schoolwork and random internet browsing sessions too. I also love that it's sleek and smooth, which makes it very attractive as well. Heck, I even like the font used for the keyboard. The ONLY thing I would suggest getting with this is maybe a keyboard cover, only because my fingers apparently tend to get greasy and I don't want to make my keyboard yucky, but also maybe a nice laptop backpack that they usually have in a section right nearby in the store. TLDR below. PROS: -everything: graphics, speed, memory, colors, etc. NOT-REALLY CONS: -somewhat loud fans when on for a while and the temperature is high, but easily fixable and also not even noticeable when in a party or listening to music, etc. even if their volume is super low. it's only loud when you're literally in a dead quiet room. I honestly couldn't even tell most of the time when I was in the library! -the stereos were a little disappointing when I played my first youtube video and when I saw cutscenes in my game; however, it wasn't until recently that I noticed that Nahimic 2 is their sound application and it actually works fairly well. I never really use my speakers anyway, but it seemed like something to mention, in the event that speakers are super important to you. -a lot of stuff comes pre-downloaded, but nothing is annoying except the Norton popups constantly. -for some reason, when game apps automatically set your settings, it tends to go for high rather than ultra as a default. as a gaming laptop, I expected this, but it actually works just as amazingly on ultra everything with high view distance, etc. you just have to make sure to consider the temp. :) QUICK NOTE: I would definitely recommend the best buy/msi insurances/warranties/geek squad stuff just because it's really nice to have that security and not have to worry if anything happens.
