PC Gaming is important to me. I upgrade my gaming laptop ever couple of years or less. But only if there is a significant upgrade to the GPU. This new MSI has a RTX 2070Q MaxQ. This is a super power friendly system. My power strip had gotten turned off accidentally and I was gaming (Control) for about 80 minutes before the graphics started to slow down and I noticed it had no power. The computer is super light and the graphics are stunning. I really love having a backlit keyboard. It allows for playing with all the lights off. The new system has some new color schemes that make it interesting. I also have an Atmos Ready headset and the sound is just incredible. Every computer I get is better than the last (just common sense) but this one is significant levels above the last one.

So far almost everything's great! Perfect price for me atm. Awesome so far for the gaming that I do. So far I've no problems or dislikes with it other it getting a bit hot as I've saw in other reviews but my friend found an awesome fan for me on amazon that's combating the problem so far. So far so good other than that...

MSI has always been a reliable brand. It runs all my MMORPG games just fine with stellar FPS and no lag. I love the optimization programs as well. And it’s not heavy so I can take it on travels as well. Definitely recommend!

This beautiful laptop is great for what I use it for, which is a desktop replacement when I am not near my desktop. It probably will be replacing my desktop completely soon. It's power and battery life is what sold me on the product. It's a 17 inch laptop that almost doesn't seem like one, it pretty light and takes up minimum space.

Laptop is great and performs extremely well. It does get hot but I already have a laptop cooling fan so I don’t notice it. The laptop does not always swap from headphones to speakers well and you may have to restart to get sound after a session with headphones. If you can purchase elsewhere. I’ve had terrible experience with Best Buy on this purchase but that isn’t because of the machine!

Excellent gaming laptop once overclocked. Has held up to extensive hours of gaming going on 16 months at time of review & still working like a champ. Beware, thing is heavy best.... not your typical slim lightweight carry around everyday laptop. Love the cosmetic design.

Good, but not great, gaming laptop

Let me start by saying that I recently sold an Alienware 17 R5 because, as gorgeous as its 4K IPS display was, its GTX 1080 could not provide decent 4K frame rates on most games. (And despite what some people say, lowering the resolution *does* introduce interpolation on most screens, making the picture soft.) Also, the display was capped at 60Hz, so dips in frames were very noticeable and borderline aggravating. It was also very heavy, which made it lousy for travel. So, I got rid of it and bought this MSI GS75 instead. I've owned MSI gaming laptops before, and always been impressed with their quality. This model is no different. On the outside, the gold trim really looks great. It was much more subtle than the photos make it appear, which was a welcomed surprise. It looks elegant and professional, even if it does have a big dragon on the chassis. Setup was a snap. I was able to get it configured how I like, download some games, and start playing very quickly. I really like the customization of per-key-RGB. It's nice to have WASD one color, F keys another, etc. Also, I like that if you hold down the function keys, the keys it can modify turn red (screen brightness, RGB brightness, volume, airplane mode, etc). That was a nice touch. Even under load, temps on both the CPU and the GPU are well within thermal tolerance (full disclosure: I do use a laptop fan, so I'm sure that helps). The internal fans get loud, but not oppressively so. And I get good frames on high or max settings in games like WoW, Destiny 2, Division 2, Age of Wonders: Planetfall, XCOM 2, and a few others I've tested. So it's obvious that the 2070 Max-Q is pulling its weight. I have yet to experiment with any RTX-enabled titles, but eventually... But this laptop is not perfect. I dropped a star for 4 very specific reasons, which are: 1.) The keyboard. It's small. For a 17" laptop, MSI uses a really interesting keyboard design. While I'm tolerating it, I don't really like it. The top 2" or so of the base of the chassis (right up against the hinges) appears to be a perforated pattern allowing for better air flow. That's great and all, but the side effect is it bumps the keyboard down closer to the user and makes the keyboard shallow. The keys are smaller as a result. This creates the illusion that the keys are closer together, because even though they are decently spaced, the keys themselves are tiny. The "Chiclet" key design, while not bad, doesn't seem to help. Because the RGB lighting is shining up and the keys are semi-elevated, it creates some RGB bleed between keys of different colors, unless you're looking at the keyboard from a top-down perspective, which, let's face it, you never are. You're always at an angle. Also, the Win key is on the right of the spacebar, which forces the spacebar to the left (which was completely unnecessary and just a poor design choice). I find myself mis-hitting the left Alt key as a result. But these are minor annoyances that will fade with familiarity. The main take-away is that the keys are small. Big handed users, be warned. 2.) The trackpad. Oh, MSI -- why? Because the keyboard is bumped down to accommodate the ventilation, the trackpad is squatter as a result. That's fine -- trackpads are getting way too big on laptops these days. But to compensate, MSI made the trackpad on the GS75 super-wide. Literally 1/3 the width of the laptop. It is impossible to type and rest your palms on the chassis without bumping the trackpad. MSI could have easily chopped 1-2 inches off the width of the pad. Normally I use an external mouse on a gaming laptop, so I will definitely be searching for a setting to disable the trackpad completely, just for comfort sake. But if you need the pad, just be mindful of its girth. 3.) The screen. Yes, I know it's IPS. Yes, I know it's 144Hz. Yes, I know it's 1080p. And it does look good. It could just be that I am coming from using a 4K laptop, or because I use a 5K display professionally for work all day, and then go play on this 1080p display. But something about the quality of the screen is messing with my eyes. I'm adapting the more I use it, but text sometimes appears soft on certain web sites, or in games, even though graphics are sharp. This is strange. Not a deal-breaker, but an annoyance for sure. The super-snappy 144Hz nearly balances out this issue, but not entirely for me. 4.) The speakers. Not gonna lie -- they SUCK. Oh dear God are they awful. They sound like someone took mediocre speakers and immersed them in yogurt. Vocals are decently bright, but mids and lows are muddy and sound distant. It almost sounds mono. I've owned laptops for work and play since the mid 1990's and I can't ever recall having such terrible-sounding laptop speakers. It's unforgivable, too, because this is a *gaming* laptop. Good sound should be a staple feature, but MSI totally missed the mark here. I almost took off 2 stars just for this. The only reason I didn't is because I use a headset about 50% of the time I am gaming. With the GS75, though, I will probably be using my headset much more often just because the internal speakers are so terrible. This is by far the biggest gaffe MSI made with this series, and it's a shame, because the speakers could have been great. So, in summary, do I like the MSI GS75? Yes. Do I love it? No. It's growing on me, sure. The performance is what I need. It's lightweight. It has some nice features I didn't expect. But at the end of the day, it feels "adequate", not "awesome". I'm sure in about 6-12 months, another next-gen gaming laptop will turn my head. Until then, I guess the GS75 will do.

I was looking for a new laptop to use as a hybrid work and play station, replacing a 2015 MacBook Pro. I needed a laptop that could run CAD and rendering software, the full Adobe Suite and tackle any game I could throw at it when I'm off the clock. I couldn't be more satisfied. The Nvidia RTX 2070 is a beast and can crank out a render in no time (not quite as fast as the Quadro but more multifunctional) and I can play all my games on ultra settings without a hitch. So far GPU temp hasn't gone above 69C. Love the 144Hz refresh and the sound quality is great. On top of that, the thing is gorgeous. Super thin for the power, matte black with rose gold accents all over, including the hinges, trackpad border, side fans and audio jacks. Very satisfied with my purchase and would definitely buy again.

This MSI g75 is a monster, and it dos not disappoint. 102 fps on Fortnite and 123 on GTA 5 with Dragon center overclock program its all automatic. Really decent battery life with general web browsing and videos. Screaming fast boot up times this thing is very decent for the money.

The computer is sleek and the build is great. The only complaint I have is the screen is flemsy but so are all the other gaming laptops of this size. The keyboard is great and backlit pretty well. I had a ROG ASUS and this is by far a better computer. It runs a little warm but It is thin so understandable. But price wise is highhhhhh haha. 2k for a laptop is alot for me tho..

I walked in on a great deal. I also use this daily between 1 and 10 hours a day. Quiet, fast, high quality. Thank you for carrying a great product. Store associate recommended and was knowledgeable. Sore associates are mostly tenured and easy to talk to. I bought this used in excellent condition. The saving allowed me to finish the purchase with a new high end mouse and pad. All very feel good and yes this purchase made me feel good. After months of use I am shopping for a second for my spouse who thinks she should get the new $3500 version. We will see. I have built 5 very high end pc's installing operating systems etc. This is my first laptop. Letting someone else put together a build and seeing the price as reasonable...I am impressed. MSI has some dedicated software that makes upgrading and updates somewhat easy.

This laptop has been nothing shy of amazing. Heat stays very stable while gaming, I would just recommend a cooling pad. I did end up returning this one but the only reason was because the Black Friday deals had its big brother with the RTX2080 max Q on sale for around the same price so ofc. It was a no brainer I went with the other. If not for that I would still be using this one. Works great with around 100 FPS on all the latest games. The picture is amazing with the 144hz screen and ips, can not tell it doesn’t have G-Sync. Highly recommend this laptop if you want something reliable, light, beautiful and very powerful.

This laptop breezes through any game I throw at it. It starts up fast and the dragon center app is a cool feature. The fans can ramp up and get pretty loud, but with so much power packed in a thin case it’s expected.

Really liking this computer so far, only oddity is getting used to the slightly off center keyboard, but the numpad and rgb lights are a definite bonus. The computer has blazing speed, the graphics outstanding. BE AWARE, each cpu has a different power feed so some fo these might get very hot. MAKE SURE YOU MONITOR YOUR CPU HEAT while gaming or video processing. Sorry for the caps, I'm trying to save you from breaking your $2k computer. Mine was running around 95c or higher with the fan blasting which would only mean a dead short lived computer. I even invested in new thermal paste and learned how to take apart a laptop (do not recommend unless you have a background in this or the time to learn.) This did not help much. Finally, I fixed the issue with undervolting. What you want to do is download throttlestop (uncheck the bloatware while installing) and look up how to undervolt with this pc. Check out a video like this one to help: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Gzh6GAKyO4&feature=youtu.be&t=318 My temps are now under control and I no longer have to have that loud fan blasting away. I had no issues with the gpu heat. Make sure to always have throttlestop open. (annoying) The only other issue this computer has, has been the battery completely draining and the fan whirring when you close the lid. I've gone into the settings and changed lid close to hibernate instead of sleep to try to counter this. This laptop is 3 stars out of the factory for the ridiculousness of having a $2k laptop ready to destroy itself, but if you are spending this much, you should already be aware that thin laptops and pwerful gpu's can have heat problems and need to be monitored. The laptop - other than the heat and sleep power drain - has been so awesome, I'll give it 4 despite the issues.

Not bad for intermittent gamers. The computer itself is super fast for any processing and the display is amazing. I would say the only downside would be that it gets quite warm very quickly when playing graphic intense games. Overall I would definitely recommend this laptop.
