I have been considering building a computer for both gaming and home office use and had already put in scores of hours of research when I saw this Aegis on sale here on Best Buy for $1,349.00 and tho’ I was in no hurry to either buy a pre-built computer or build one I purchased it on 30 Nov 18 but left the box sealed and continued to do research as I had until 12 Jan 19 to return this Aegis to my local Best Buy if I found it elsewhere at a lower price or found that could build one less expensively. Eventually, after finalizing my research I found that the cost of the build on which I finally decided came up to about $1,150.00 but with no OS and had lesser grade components. By this time the unopened MSI carton had become part of the landscape in my office and after thinking about it for a few days I took a chance and opened the box to this Beast on 29 Dec 18. I was fully expecting to find only the pre-built tower but to my great surprise and delight I found not just a pre-built tower but both an MSI Interceptor DS4200 gaming keyboard ($99.89 least expensive online price I could find) and an Interceptor DS B1 gaming mouse ($17.00 least expensive online price I could find), which means I paid just $1,232.11 for the pre-built tower which of course came with Windows 10. It meant to me that MSI built this computer for me for $82.11 which is the price difference between the build on which I decided with no OS and what I paid for this Aegis. That slight difference made the purchase worth it for me because not only did I not have to deal with building the computer I would not have to deal with separate warranties for the separate parts in the build. I have to say I am very impressed because Beast it is…. The boot speed, operating speed and shut down speed are amazing. If I did not use a password I am sure it would take but fifteen seconds from the time I turned the computer on until it was spooled up and ready to roll and it shuts down completely in less than twenty seconds. The 1070Ti graphics are remarkable; this despite the fact that I had to buy a Male HDMI to Female VGA adaptor converter for my older monitor as I did not want to buy a new one because my current monitor is still perfectly serviceable. The 2GB capacity of the HDD and the DVD/CD drive are just what I wanted. The lighting on the keyboard and mouse are quite nice and the MSI gaming center on the desktop lets me tweak the sound and light in the tower in different ways, making that software a nice addition. As for the lighting, it was not something in which I had an interest for a computer but it is a very nice bonus. Alas, the only lament I have about the computer is the paltry 256GB capacity of the SDD; a 500 GB capacity SDD would have been much more choice; which is what the majority of the articles I read about building a computer recommended. To prove the point of the articles, I have already used 237 GB of space on the SDD. Still, I can store some programs on the HDD and endure the slower boot speeds no worries because this computer also comes with Intel Optane memory; a very nice touch and selling point indeed. Despite that single SDD misgiving, I feel that this computer is a superior product for my needs and desires and I would buy it again without hesitation. Indeed, I bemoan that fact that it is still on sale at $1,349.00. Tho’ it would make no sense for me to do so, the sale price of $1,349.00 impels me to want to buy another; that is how good I deal I find it to be. If you want a very nice computer for gaming and household use at a decent price, I suggest you get it Now! on sale at $1,349.00 because no, I have not found it anywhere else at a lower price and no, I am not a shill for Best Buy but I am Very enthused after having put in scores of hours of research made me feel that I made what I consider to be a very clever and splendid computer purchase. I would not only recommend this computer to a friend but to anyone.

I have had this PC for around 6 months now. I love the overall quality of the PC itself. It is a bit noisy when it cools off but doesn’t bother me or over throw the positives of the specs! I use it to stream many games and edit videos! I love the graphics card, but i will be looking to change it soon. I got a small kit that would help me change the GPU when I got the PC too! Overall I recommend this PC for new streamers and/or people who have been with PC gaming for a bit. But need that upgrade.
