All in all, it's a great PC if you are like me and impatient to wait for 3080s to come back in stock.
Parts List:
- Motherboard: MSI Z490-A Pro
- CPU: i7-10700KF
- GPU: MSI RTX 3080 VENTUS 3X OC
- Memory: XPG GAMMIX D1 3000 MHz (2 x 8 GB)
- Hard drive: Adata SU720 1 TB Sata
- CPU cooler: MSI 120mm Dragon Liquid Cooler
- PSU: MSI MPG A650GF 80+ Gold
- Wireless: Wi-Fi 6 AX200 2x2 802.11ax
The only issues I have with the pc is the following:
1. The PSU, while adequate for the build, is still below the recommended that Nvidia has for a 3080. You don't have a lot of wiggle room if you want to upgrade in the future.
2. The CPU cooler isn't too great. While gaming I'm seeing temps around 70C+. While it's within spec, it's still higher than I would like.
3. Audio jacks aren't adequate. This of course could be due to the headphones I was using (Sennheiser HD599), but I had to turn it up to 100% just for me to hear footsteps in game.
I have pretty much already remedied all the issues I have by ordering a bigger PSU, a 240mm aio cooler and I installed my older sound card (EVGA Nu) into the system.
I will say that so far every game I've thrown at it will max out without issue at 1440p and stay above 100FPS. I'm still in the process of testing out 4k gaming, but so far it's very promising with games like GTAV staying above 100fps maxed out except MSAA being at 2x and Resident Evil 2 and 3 running practically maxed out with HDR enabled while still maintaining over 60fps.
If you're looking for a great prebuilt and you can find one, then look no further. You won't be disappointed.

Great Prebuilt Gaming PC

I just received this item today (22 Dec) so this is not a comprehensive review. Rather, I wanted to publish this to address the questions regarding the components that are included in this prebuilt PC. Below are the list of components I found in my MSI prebuilt:
- Motherboard: MSI Z490-A Pro
- CPU: i7-10700KF (KF = no integrated graphics, which is not a deal-breaker for most consumers of gaming PC)
- GPU: MSI RTX 3080 VENTUS 3X OC (no RGB lighting but solid performance)
- Memory: XPG GAMMIX D1 3000 MHz (2 x 8 GB)
- Hard drive: Adata SU720 1 TB Sata (not M.2)
- CPU cooler: MSI 120mm Dragon Liquid Cooler
- PSU: MSI MPG A650GF (650W, 80+ Gold)
- Wireless: Wi-Fi 6 AX200 2x2 802.11ax (2.4Gbps)
Pros:
The pictures on the Best Buy website (as of 22 Dec) do not accurately depict this PC. For example, this prebuilt comes with 120mm liquid cooler, unlike what is depicted in the stock images. Additionally, I was pleasantly surprised by the aesthetics: the case was sleek and modern, the cabling was neat, and the RGB fans provided vivid lighting--much better than the depictions from the stock images. Lastly, the GPU scored 209% on UserBenchmark, second only to RTX 3090. Warzone on 1440p and highest graphics setting was a breeze, rarely dropping below 140 fps.
Cons:
650W PSU. A stable 650W PSU is adequate for 17-10700KF with RTX 3080; however, if you plan on overclocking the CPU and/or the GPU, a 750W PSU (or greater) is recommended. This is the only thing keeping me from rating this 5 stars (thus far).
I hope this review is helpful, albeit premature. My main goal is to assist those who are contemplating this purchase, or have already made the purchase, and have questions about the components. I would definitely recommend this prebuilt, especially if you--like me--do not have the patience to wait for the RTX 3080 inventory to stabilize.

Pros:
- contains an RTX 3080. In this current GPU market, don’t need to elaborate on this.
- runs games extremely well. Can max out settings in 1440p for many games and still maintain high frame rates. Although I have yet to try it, I’ve seen benchmarks of 4k gaming as well, which the 3080 is supposed to handle very well. Look up RTX 3080 and i7-10700 benchmarks to see for yourself.
- convenient, quick, and easy. Pre-installed Windows OS, shipped within a week of ordering, and no difficult setup needed. Getting a pre-built is like console gaming if it were a desktop. Plug and play.
- neat wiring. When I opened up my back panel to install some extra hard drives, I was surprised that the cables weren’t just tangled up and thrown together quickly. They were zip-tied and stored neatly.
- it’s a pre-built. No knowledge of building PC’s is needed. Learning how to build a rig from scratch can require a lot of time and patience, something that not everyone has.
- while many others are upgrading their power supplies to 750 or more watts, I’ve stuck with the 650w PSU, and have not experienced any issues at all. However, note that I have not overclocked - just using my GPU and CPU as is.
- plenty of room for more storage. 2 m.2 slots, and I installed 2 more SSD’s using SATA cables.
- RGB is clean and customizable.
Cons:
- price. Although, is this currently a con considering GPU prices as of early 2021? I purchased this item the day before this pre-built price increased (from ~1800 to ~2300 USD). However, I’m not sure if I would have purchased this item at ~$2,300 plus tax. Could find much better value in either another pre-built or a different card (like the RTX 3070).
- heat. I’ve encountered this with my previous desktop, but this thing can really heat up a room. Convenient now during the winter-time, but a little worried when things get warm (80+ degrees F). Like others have said, upgrading the cooling may help with the internal temps as well, although personally, my PC hasn’t been at any abnormal internal temperatures, just regular external heating.
- memory. 1 TB of SSD space is not enough for today’s age of gaming. There is enough room for more SSD’s and HDD’s, but if you’re a first time owner of a PC, it may be confusing on how to install these drives.
Overall, I am very happy with my purchase. I was able to snag this item when it was a few hundred dollars cheaper. I can’t currently recall the exact pricing, but I bought it at around 1800-1900 plus tax, and it is currently at around something like 2300 USD. I don’t see the price dropping back down anytime soon because of widespread GPU shortages, but this pre-built is a clean, easy to use, and extremely strong system. Ray-tracing is beautiful on games that it’s supported on, and playing at full 1440p at max settings is a substantial upgrade from 1080p low settings, or even 1440p at low settings.
If you have the extra cash on hand now, I recommend this pre-built. Although you can source the parts together at a cheaper price (minus the GPU), the convenience of having it put together and setup with a working operating system is worth some money in itself. And, if it is in-stock, having a 3080 sooner rather than later is great, too.

Good PC, but considering that this not a great SSD card (it is only a SATA SSD), or a higher powered PSU, one it comes with is only 650W, nvidia themselves say you need at least a 750W, the price should have been lower. I was able to purchase the computer in the first few days it was released, at MSRP price of $1,899.99. The next day, after the product continually would go in and out of stock, the price went up by $350, to what is now an MSRP of $2,249.99. I will let others judge what this significant price increase was about.
At the current MSRP, I would not recommend this computer, as it is overpriced for the SSD it comes with, and slightly underpowered PSU. PC runs fine with this PSU, but if you are going to be adding other hard drives, or other peripherals, and especially if you plan on overclocking anything, you need to get at least a 850W PSU. The SSD is probably the single thing they really tried to save money on, and is only a SATA SSD.
Now the good news is, at lest with my build, the 3080 runs great on just about everything I throw at it. CPU also is very capable, and should be good to go with for a few years at least. Case design is also very cool. Had no real cooling issues either with my unit.

I was fortunate enough to purchase this back in February right before the price increased. This was a surprisingly well built machine. It was well packaged and the cable management was done well. The only questionable part was the 120mm AIO. I think they could have used a 240mm considering they used a base Z490 motherboard. Eventually repurposed the GPU for a personal build.

I got this PC delivered on New Year's Eve and boy did it deliver!! This thing packs a punch with it's RTX 3080. Some reviews have been stating that they were having overheating issues, but crossing my fingers, I have yet to experience any. It was running cool right out of the box.
Since then though, I have added quite a few upgrades to my gaming rig. I upgraded the Ram to Corsair 32 GBs at 3600mhz. I swapped out the AIO liquid cooler for a 240 mm model and mounted it on the top. And I also added a stick of M.2 ssd 500gb of memory onto it. This thing is powering my living room now, as everything runs through it.
For temps, after my upgrades, for non gaming, I am getting around low to mid 30s Celsius for my CPU,and around upper 40 to lower 50s on my GPU.
While playing Final Fantasy XIV (The only game I play right now) at 4k resolution and max graphics settings, I am getting about 130 -150 FPS and sitting between 70-74 degrees Celsius during the heavy action.
Overall, I've loved the experience of upgrading this PC, and enjoy the looks and power of it. I have it connected to 2 TV's, one is an 82 inch Samsung QLED 7 series, and the other is a 50inch, both are 4k TV's and the PC is having no problems running both at the same time. I'm usually playing Final Fantasy XIV on max setting on the larger tv, and have Netflix or YouTube playing at 4k if available. I can fit 2 more displays on if I wanted to lol.

After returning two other pre builds this one hit the mark. It’s all around great! low temps , ultra quiet , super fast. This is a unit I would recommend for anyone in the price range as they do not skimp on parts compared to other companies. My parts are identical to the other reviewers
Cons— psu will work fine but is low , aio was installed upside down, could be 100$ less and provide a better value.
I added two fans up top . Not that they’re needed .

First gaming PC. I’ve been wanting to get one for ages and wanted to build, but good parts are scarce and good deals almost non existent at this point. So I went with a pretty darn good pre-built. Everything worked out of the box but I checked over all the connections prior to starting up.
The star in this show is the 3080. It’s an absolute animal, but I did undervolt to get some better thermals out of it and it didn’t affect performance at all. The CPU is also very very good and absolutely no complaints from me. This is a relatively high end PC, but I do wish the SSD was M.2. That’s a minor complaint though and doesn’t affect my view on the overall product.
The 3080 is being sold by scalpers for 1300-1400 by itself. I got this entire PC for $1709 prior to tax as I got the 10% off for my birthday. Even without the 10% it’s an excellent deal. I can’t speak for those who had issues out of the box but mine is an animal. I’m running crazy high FPS on everything I throw at it. With undervolting, 72 degrees is about as high as I get. Will tinker with that more.

Excellent System for a Solid Price

TL;DR: A solid price point for a great system, and a lot of the complaints others make don't make much sense.
I received this item approximately 4 days after purchase.
Like most purchasers, I was seeking the RTX 3080 in the midst of the horrible GPU market, and a pre-built was my best option. Because MSI is a GPU manufacturer, it stands to reason that this build comes with an MSI build, which are all quite good. Specifically the MSI Ventus 3X OC, mine came with 10GB of GDDR6X on the video card alone. I am very pleased.
I felt like upgrading the RAM, so I added 4 G.SKILL Trident-Z 3600 sticks that all match the aesthetic perfectly. It's the simplest upgrade to the system for non-builders, but it is also entirely not necessary since 16GB is quite adequate. I also tossed in another 1 TB SSD (not the easiest thing finding a power connector in the existing cabling), and plan to eventually add in an NVME drive as well.
Overall, the system looks and works great out of the box. I did some testing and the specs absolutely deliver on their promises of greatness, but led me to some insight on the other people writing reviews here.
On the complaints of others:
First, the AIO cooler on this model cannot be installed "upside-down". I am assuming that those complaining about this are misinterpreting the fact that when installing cooling systems, it is important to make sure your pump is never at the highest point in the loop. The pump on this particular cooler is located on the CPU cold-plate, which is nowhere close to the highest point of the water loop. Regardless of the position the tubes are on the radiator, it is literally impossible to achieve a dangerous orientation or even one likely to reduce the life of the cooling system for this particular model. The CPU Temps in my warm room (27 degrees Celsius) never exceeded 83 Celsius, even during overclocking with load, which is within spec (Tj max is 100 Celsius with a recommendation to stay below 90).
Secondly, the PSU is an 80 PLUS GOLD rated efficient power supply (meaning at least 87% of the power from the wall is getting to your components at maximum load). Yes, the 650W rating is lower than recommended, but overclocked the GPU's Total Power Draw is 320W, and when I overclocked the CPU it was pulling 190W. Under load, my system never crested 590W with 32GB RAM, overclocking, RGB, and the water cooling in a room that averages 27 degrees Celsius. If that is too close for comfort for you, you can upgrade (but re-cabling everything will be irritating for sure). That is assuming you want to overclock to begin with, since this computer is very fast at stock settings.

So after two weeks my impressions on this PC are very, very good. Albeit some quarks, I still feel like it deserves more than 4 stars, maybe 4.5.
The overall build quality and aah- factor is there from the moment you press the power button. Cable management is beyond anything I would ever accomplish myself. CPU AIO came installed properly and RGB, boy the RGB. Quintessential build, really really solid. Would impress the most skilled of builders, but also nothing too over the top, just obviously built with care and consideration. But of course that RTX mf 3080. What needs to be said?
But of course those quarks I mentioned - GPU has noticeable slant. It's such a beast that I do not even mind but I guess it should be noted. Sleep mode - this is partially user error but I have yet to find a good and consistent sleep setting for this device. Lastly, the storage situation is a little squirrely. It's not a full 1tb of m.2 SSD storage, more like 600gb, then 300-400gb of 2.5" SSD storage.
I returned a defective Alienware with lesser specs for this system and I am very happy I did. Huge investment for myself, but I'm trusting MSI and so far am very pleased.

This is going to be a long one as this thing has been a bit of a pandemic project. For posterity, this was written during a time of part scarcity in tandem with tariffs jacking up prices on GPUs, so the value proposition is sure to change in the next year or so.
BOTTOM LINE:
This is a great out of the box system, with far better value than the vast majority of the other pre-builts at best buy and elsewhere online, especially in early 2021. It uses higher quality parts with a better motherboard vs. other prebuilt, with good upgrade potential. Great for gaming, excellent for VR, and pairs super well with a 1440p 144hz+ monitor. If you're in the market for an extremely high powered PC with a 3080 in the near future and lucky enough to see one of these for sale, pick it up quick.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BIT MORE DETAIL:
That all being said, there are a few components that stop it from unlocking the full potential of its top of the line GPU and high end CPU.
In descending order of importance (for maximizing stability / reliability then performance) these are:
- Storage / SSD
- CPU Cooler
- Power Supply
- RAM
Storage:
The included 1TB SSD is a SATA drive that is on the slower side, the particular one included in the system being having the caveat of being dramless. This type of SSD has reduced reliability and speed with some dramless SSDs being on the speed level of mechanical hard drives. This was certainly a bottleneck I noticed just moving around the system and in games, with high loading times and lessened performance on texture heavy loads. Combined with the lessened lifespan of these drives in a computer one is likely looking to own and use for many years, this isn't optimal.
I replaced the hard drive with a far faster and more reliable NVME m.2 SSD which after putting the OS and my games onto resulted in snappier OS tasks, and faster loading in games. Anecdotally, performance also seems to be better as well, frame-rates and stutters appear reduced.
CPU cooler:
The included 120mm AIO certainly works out of the box, but in demanding titles and gaming sessions, the CPU temps would be deep into the 90 degrees C and start to head into 100 territory which is where thermal throttling comes in. As the CPU is an unlocked 'K' variant, capable of overclocking, you're leaving performance on the table by having it run so hot at stock.
I replaced it with a 240mm as the case fits this size quite comfortably (it can accommodate a 360mm for max cooling but not as easily, and not top mounted). Temps improved dramatically with this change and now some overclocking is possible. Or at least it would be if not for the...
Power Supply:
Included is a 650W power supply to works just fine out of the box. HOWEVER, this is 100W less than Nvidia recommends for the 3080. In many tests of 30 series GPUs one can find, spikes of power draw have been noted which may even require a higher rated power than the suggested 750W. My system black screened on me under load once with this PSU, and while I don't know for sure if it was the PSU, that would be my educated guess given it is under spec. Also, if one wants to do any overclocking with the unlocked CPU in this machine, a higher rated power supply is advised as this can raise the power draw can significantly.
I swapped out the 650W PSU for MSI's 850W unit as the power rating allows for a comfortable margin on the current and potential power draw of the system with the added bonus that all of the cables work interchangeably (except the wall plug) making it the least intrusive option since all you need to do is pull out the plug on the 650 and place it in the same spot on the 850.
RAM:
This one was overkill on my part as the included RAM is pretty solid at 3000mhz CL16. BUT at this point in the journey I wanted to go whole hog and so got some faster 3600mhz CL16 sticks. This has mostly a negligible effect, but does speed up some UI interactions and adds maybe the last 1-5 FPS in games depending on the title.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FUTURE UPGRADES / UPGRADABILITY:
With all of the above changes, the only big performance boost that MAY (depending on future game / developer support) be coming in the near future is PCIE gen 4 support. This is what gives the new Xbox and PlayStation thier crazy fast loading and gameplay possibilities. Sadly, the included 10th gen intel process does not and will not support this. The upcoming 11th gen chips, however, will, and luckily the included motherboard supports both the new chips and PCIE gen 4!
So in the case that better storage and PCIE gen 4 with the 3080 becomes a big perf boost / adds killer features, then upgrading to an 11th gen intel processor and getting a PCIE gen 4 SSD would be the call.
After that, the system is basically maxed out without replacing the motherboard, GPU, or some other bigger change down the line that might just be a different build altogether.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CONCLUSION:
This thing really is a beast, handles everything you ask of it incredibly! Great for VR and pairs super well with a 1440p 144hz+ monitor. Haven't done too much 4k gaming yet, but other sources online and how well it works at lower resolutions leads me to expect it to perform extremely well there as well.
Below is the system as it was bought and how it is today, at the hardwares potential for a long time yet (until PCIE gen 4 becomes a useful thing).

Overall and out of the box, this is a great PC for the price, but there are some issues that can be fixed by the user to have a better experience.
Specs have been listed by other reviewers, and seem consistent.
My PC came with:
MSI Z-490 A-Pro Motherboard
XPG Gammix D10 RAM 3000mHz
MSI Ventus 3X RTX 3080 10G OC
XPG Core Reactor 650W 80+ Gold
Adata Su720 1Tb SSD
I build PCs fairly often, so I noticed a couple of things right away.
Fixable Issue #1: The RAM is not configured properly in the BIOS. The RAM is advertised as being 3000mHz, and it is possible to reach those speeds, but out of the box, the speeds are 2667mHz. You can easily fix this by booting into the BIOS by repeatedly tapping the Delete key on your keyboard right when you turn on the computer. Once you boot into the BIOS, you have to click the XMP Profile button in the top left of the screen, press F10 on the keyboard, boot into Windows, and then you're done and running at the proper speeds.
Fixable Issue #2: The CPU AIO radiator is installed upside down (at least mine was). The tubing on the radiator should be at a higher altitude than the pump. To fix this, all you have to do is unscrew the fan from the radiator, and then the radiator from the case. Flip them 180 degrees so that the radiator tubing is facing towards the top of the case, and screw them bac in place. After I did this, my CPU Idle temps dropped by 5-8 degrees Celsius, and the pump was slightly quieter.
Despite noticing these issues right off the bat, I was still very impressed by this PC and by MSI. The presentation was very nice, and the cabling was well managed. They also didn't really skimp on any parts included in this PC, but I would have liked to see 32GB of RAM or a 750 Watt power supply for the price.
Overall Rating: 4/5
MSI could have had a little more attention to detail for $1899.

For FPS games such as Warzone, gaming performance was mediocre due to the stock ram of 3000mhz. However once replaced with Samsung b-die the FPS increased +40. Some significant cons are the Ventus 3080 OC runs close to 80 degrees but when undervolted it runs closer to 70 degrees and FPS goes down by no more than 10 FPS. I suggest to replace the AIO cooler to 240 or 360 for a cooler CPU.
Pre-Trump tariffs, this desktop was a bargain. Now that MSI had to increase their desktop and GPUs by $200+, it is no longer a deal. All in all, this desktop runs as well as any pre-built 3080 system and the case and RGB looks so much better than anything else.

This is my first prebuilt after many years of building my own PCs. The building part is honestly more fun to me than any game I end up playing on it, but that wasn't a possibility for the foreseeable future due to hardware not being available, so I opted for a prebuilt that I'd upgrade a bit. The specs are listed in most other reviews, so I'll skip that part and talk about the build itself.
The bad:
This thing comes with a 650W PSU, which is less than Nvidia's own recommendation for any RTX 3080. Nvidia's recommendation is based on a pairing with an i9-10900K, and while this PC has an i7-10700KF, both processors have the same max TDP of 125W. Simply put, the PSU is inadequate for proper power delivery to its parts. I swapped it for a 750W 80+ Gold before I ever even turned it on. In that process I had to unplug nearly everything and plug the new PSU cables in, which brings me to my next point.
The OK:
Cable management was surprisingly decent for a prebuilt. I expected everything to be intertwined and routed from the wrong places, but most cables were router neatly and zip-tied together to be out of the way. There was in fact intertwining in the area with the highest concentration of wires, which was the top of the system where the RGB, CPU, and cooler fans were routed, but it seems to have been done to prevent cable sagging from slack. Some of the wires had also wrapped around the SATA cables going to the SSD, which is mounted vertically on the cable routing side, but overall it was way better than I expected.
The included SSD has a SATA interface, which for a PC of this caliber is unacceptable. Fortunately it still works as a boot drive and Windows loads pretty quickly, but I added a 1 TB NVMe drive. It doesn't come with a screw to secure the NVMe to the motherboard, but it does come with a heatsink for the slot and the heatsink holds the drive down, so it's alright.
Lastly the CPU is cooled by a 120mm AIO. This isn't really enough for an i7 under heavy load, especially if overclocked (either by turbo or manually), but I've left it on the stock clock for now. I'm definitely upgrading to a 240/280 AIO once I start playing more-demanding games.
The Good:
Typically in prebuilts I see complete trash for every component except the CPU and GPU. This isn't one of those prebuilts.
The case is surprisingly good, with my only major complaint being the front of it not being open and mesh. The cable management system is pretty good, with openings all over the case from the cable side to the components side. It doesn't have hooks to hold the cables in place, but there's enough clearance to where it's not an issue. My favorite part was that the hard drive cage was actually removable. It's held down by 4 screws from the bottom and one on top. The bottom ones can be reached by removing the standoff at the bottom of the case near the front. The top one can be located near the GPU in the components side but has practically no clearance so you'll actually need a socket wrench to get to it. Once removed this makes feeding new PSU cables in much simpler. It features 360mm of fan support at the front (taken up by the 3 included 120mm fans), a 120mm slot in the back (taken up by the 120mm AIO), and 2 120/140mm slots at the top. The top and bottom have magnetic metal filters. Neither the tempered glass nor cable management side panels have any fan support. I took advantage of the slots at the top by adding 2 140mm fans, and there are still 2 free 4-pin fan headers left.
The motherboard is actually a Z490 chipset, meaning overclock support. The BIOS has both a simple and a manual mode for overclocking the RAM and CPU. The RAM XMP profile was off by default, so I turned that on, but left the CPU alone until I upgrade the cooling. There are two JRAINBOW headers for ARGB LED support. One is taken by an ARGB hub located along the cable management, and one is free. The hub also has 5 out of the 6 slots taken, which means that there are a total of 2 free 3-pin ARGB slots. They're on different headers so if you use these for the 2 fan slots at the top, you want to keep them in sync with your RGB software.
Overall I recommend the Aegis RS. Whether you're uncomfortable putting a PC together yourself or fed up trying to hunt down parts when nothing is available, this is an overall quality system. Just make sure you swap out the PSU if you'll be putting it under heavy load (which you probably will), and don't forget to turn the XMP profile on in the BIOS. Happy hunting!

Great PC with some upgrades

Great PC but there are some upgrades you will need to make I wasn’t aware of. The CPU runs hot on this PC even with the AIO cooler that comes with it. I’ve had temps rise into the 85c range playing games at 1440p ultra. Keep in mind you can game at these temps, I just prefer not to. The SSD that comes with the system is a sata SSD and not that sweet m.2 Nvme you were hoping for, boot times are still decent though. Nvidia recommends a 750w PSU to pair with the RTX 3080 and this system comes equipped with a 650w 80 plus gold. I’m happy with the system but I will be happier when my upgrades are installed and complete.
Things I purchased extra..
-240mm AIO cooler
-850W 80 plus Gold PSU
-500GB m.2 Nvme SSD (for windows, keep the current sata SSD for games)
-and I ordered some of the thermal grizzly paste as it’s rated one of the best.
Hoping with all this I can have a stable overclock amd keep my temps to the low 70s at max.

Like another reviewer posted, I have the same specs.
I normally build my own PCs however due to the scarcity of these GPUs, I bought this for my sibling. I immediately checked the parts and verified that at least these parts being used are common with the other builds other people are getting. Not the greatest products and you can tell that they build the PC to the exact spec as advertised ( AIO cooler/PSU/Memory could've been better )
Overall I don't regret purchasing this for $1,800 but noticed the price went up. Not sure I'd recommend this for the new $2200 price it's listed for.
