Customers are saying

Customers praise the Delta AMD Advantage Edition laptop's performance, battery life, graphics capabilities, and lightweight design. Positive feedback also highlights the high refresh rate screen and included 16GB of RAM. However, some users note that the laptop can get quite warm and the fans are sometimes noisy. Concerns were also raised regarding the hinge's durability.

The MSI Delta 15.6" is a bit of a quandary to me. I went in expecting reasonable gaming performance and relatively poor battery life. What I got was great gaming performance and poor battery life. Build: This is one area that I give MSI kudos. The machine feels great and is well put together. Minimal flex and sold keyboard platform. Display lid is a little flimsy feeling and that can be attribute to the hinges on the end. Overall it feels great and is reasonably light (for a gaming laptop). Processor and GPU: At no time did I think to myself "Gosh, I wish it had Intel". The Ryzen R7-5800 does a great job and is a solid performer. The machine feels snappy and tasks do not feel bottlenecked by it. The 6700M is a beast for the money. Everything I threw at it (AC: Valhalla, Deathloop, Control, etc) played above 60fps at 1080p. Granted there wasn't much that could stress the display unless you turned quality settings way down. Overall, the 5800/6700M combination is a beast. Display: The screen looks good with minimal vignetting and flashlighting. Great color with minimal overshoot. The difference between 120Hz and 240Hz is real and despite the fact the human eye is not capable of 'seeing' the refresh rate it is pretty obvious the brain can. Battery life: I'm not sure it truly matters when looking at a gaming laptop. Most know that this isn't going to be the best by any stretch of the imagination. I was able to eek out 4 hours with basic tasks (internet, Excel, etc.). Don't even waste your time trying to game while on the battery. So... why only 4 stars if it is such a great performer... well, it's loud. Really loud. All the time loud. The fan never stops. That's the rub with the 5800/6700M... heat. The thin build coupled to a pair of hot processors simply can't defeat thermodynamics. Unfortunately, MSI takes the approach of cool over quiet which makes sense to prevent throttling, but if you want to use this machine for anything other than gaming you might reconsider or buy some good headphones. Overall, the machine is pretty darn good. Better than I expected. Just wish it didn't sound like I left the hair dryer on while using Chrome.

Great laptop for gaming which is surprisingly light and powerful. Only issues ive found has been the msi / ati software that is installed. The software for msi tools and system info has issues refreshing and displaying sometimes and the ati software also has issues displaying sometimes. Other than that the system performs top notch.

Amazing laptop runs every game with top notch performance in every category. However a cooler would be needed since it heats up quick for big games.

It is a solid laptop that is an amazing all-rounder. For a gaming laptop the battery life is unheard of the screen is great for gaming and decent for everything else. Keyboard is ok or better trackpad has not annoyed me or want to write home about it. Nothing sticks out as bad except for heat and fan noise while gaming which is to be expected. Machine looks attractive but doesn't shout I am 12 or steal me. Is it the best at anything no but it is good or better at majority of tasks. Gaming I did connect it to 4k tv and played older games (xbox 360 era) @ 60fps in 4k for giggles and it worked, however anything new requires modest adjustments in order to take advantage of the 240hz refresh rate that I had no idea I would be a fan of. I am pleased to say that there is no tearing and it adjusts (out of the box) while on battery. I got around 1.5 hours of playing Fallout 4 on ultra settings and around 3.5-4 hours on civ 5. Battery Life I am sure unless you are on a mission to destroy the battery you could surf for 10 hours on this thing really you would be so bored or have to be off grid to kill it. It is so nice not having to have a dedicated high(ish) end laptop and a daily driver. This one really delivers usability outside of gaming I doubt that the screen would be up to snuff for photo editing but everything else should be completely acceptable. Aesthetics This thing is stealth wealth, I am sure you could sit at a coffee shop and no one would think twice about it. Better than that you are unlikely to grab the wrong kind of attention either a child gravitating to overdone RGB or a nice snatch and grab of an apple. Cons Heat and noise they are par for the course for 200 plus watts. I wish the fan was a little more sedate under load but I never have to wonder if it is working they at least don't have a drone or high pitch. The screen looks a little washed out but no dead pixels or weird viewing angles it really is not bad just not great for a mid to high tier laptop and maybe it is a necessary concession for 240hz.

I wasn't sure about this one, so I returned it. The main reason being it was too large, so I found a 14". My intent is too use a large secondary display, rather than the built in display. I just didn't feel it performed was well as expected.

This thing is bad to the bone! Every single game I have thrown at it has run flawless at high to max settings. The fans are like jet engines, it's a little loud but keeps it cool enough. If you want a portable gaming rig that can compete with any of the gaming desktops, this bad boy can handle it.

Great laptop at an amazing price! The problem mine had was that the fans ran constantly. I’m not sure if the cooling system wasn’t adequate for the laptop or it was a malfunction. I played WoW and did light editing.

I love the way MSI Delta 15 has packed a powerful and well loaded gaming laptop into a small profile case! Design The MSI Delta 15 has a smaller size that I would expect for a gaming laptop but packs everything in there. The keyboard is very roomy and comfortable to type on. It doesn't have a numeric keyboard but it has excellent, full-sized T arrow buttons in an inverted T layout! I find that to be rare and it is very helpful for some games. The color and brightness of the keyboard back-light can be changed. I can also set it to make the colors cycle. The keyboard also has a light, to show if the function keys are locked. It's on the ESC key which is logical because <Fn>-<ESC> is a toggle to turn the function lock on and off. Performance This laptop runs everything fast! With the Ryzen 7 5800H, 16GB of RAM, a 1TB SSD, and a Radeon RX 6700M with 10GB of video memory it runs anything I throw at it with no problem. I have a racing game from a few years ago that has a benchmark tool built in. This laptop actually averaged 247fps in the benchmark test when I had all the settings at their highest! I'm glad to see that the the GPU can generate a framerate as high as the screen refresh! I've run new 3D sports and shooter games as well and not only does this handle high settings but motion is fast and smooth! I'm very impressed with what AMD has done in mobile CPU and graphics! Ports This has one HDMI, 2 USB C, 2 USB A, and one headphone jack. All the USB ports are USB 3.1 Type 2 - which is excellent! One of the USB C ports also supports Display Port. There is also a dedicated power port. Congrats to MSI! I like their choice of ports. I do wish it had an RJ-45 jack since I tend to do a lot of things related to networking and it does typically give better bandwidth and lower latency than wireless. Software There's a tool called MSI Center that's included which shows you all sorts of live hardware info like temperatures and fan speeds. It also lets you change the keyboard backlighting. There's a multi-track music creator program called Music Maker Jam for making your own soundtrack. There's also a program called Nahimic that let's you apply live effects to improve or change audio. You can even adjust for where your speakers are in the room to improve your sound field positioning. It also has a sound sharing feature that gives you separate volume control for headphones connected with the headphone jack, Bluetooth, and USB ports. I love the fact that I can share sound with someone else easily and with separate volume control. The included software I found most interesting is the MSI App Player. It lets me log into my Google Account and install Android Apps just like my laptop was an Android device. It even adds icons for the apps in Windows. I haven't used it much yet but there have been a number of times where I wanted a phone app on my Windows PC so it's great to have something included that lets me do that! Battery Life MSI claims 12 hours of video playback. That may be possible. There 5 MSI optimized modes for battery life or performance. One is customizable. In my usage I've been happy but not overly surprised by the battery life but most of my usage has been gaming or installing games so I don't have a great feel for it.

Excellent laptop and very portable. Sleek design means a good gaming performance while remaining professional. While I haven't extensively tested its battery, it is able to finish a full day of light work with significant charge left and can handle eSports titles perfectly.

out of the box this thing put up a mean fight against my 3070 & 3080ti builds when it came to benchmarks. it's light, thin, and powerful. battery life is awesome, AMD and MSI hit it out of the park with this one.
