This is the first all AMD gaming laptop I’ve seen in quite a while. With nVidia graphics taking center stage of late along with GPU shortages and outrageous pricing a dedicated gaming laptop might be a good solution for PC gaming. There are some good things with this laptop but of course it’s not perfect, but there aren’t many truly perfect gaming laptops out there and you would pay significantly more for those. Oh, and mom and dad… it would make a great multipurpose laptop for the kiddos. School and play. I picked a pretty hardware taxing game of “New World” and performance was very good. I had a good gaming experience with only a few issues to be mentioned below. What I did like: + setup was very easy - hats off to Microsoft and MSI for a painless out of the box experience + Option for Windows 10 and Windows 11 install during and after initial setup. + The 240Hz IPS display is crisp with no noticeable artifacts, pretty smooth + keyboard has a good tactile feel and the trackpad is adequate but I’m not much of a trackpad person since I usually use a mouse. + aesthetically pleasing. Looks sharp but… see below + solid specs with the use of the latest connectivity hardware + lightweight and thin. I can easily toss this in a backpack to game on the run. + priced to be between high end and budget gaming laptops… that good middle ground The issues I have with this laptop, some are very minor but just need to know… - The keyboard backlighting is programmable RGB but only one color at a time instead of individual addressable keys. - a stick on MSI badge on lid... really? It looks like an afterthought. They have MSI on the bezel but you would think they could put the logo on as a shadowed image rather than a stick on badge… just looks tacky to me. I like the look better of the MSI GS66 Intel/nVidia cousin. - only 2 months Norton – I’ve already uninstalled… don’t care for Norton so I use something else which was promptly installed. - why do you have multiple Office 365 install app for different languages. Bloatware… uninstalled all but English but even then a simple hyperlink to a trial download for Office would have sufficed. - the SSD is a NVMe PCIe Gen 3 and not Gen 4 while the system supports Gen 4. Seems like a bit of a corner cut for cost so a few bucks more for a Gen 4 please!! - there is a lot of fan noises as the system does ramp up cooling during game play, you should probably invest in a laptop cooler and/or headset One last think to note is the 1920 X 1080 resolution. Yeah, it’s probably to get the most bang for the buck and honestly I’d trade of resolution for the quick 240Hz display response anyway. For the money at $1600 it’s actually a decent bargain. You are getting performance while keeping the cost down using AMD CPU and GPU. With a few tweaks I could see this as a solid contender… especially just upgrading the NVMe to a Gen 4 drive would be an easy slam dunk. Now just drop that tacky badge on the lid.

This is an awesome gaming laptop. I play Warzone and you get great FPS, clarity and just overall performance. I seen some of the bad reviews and none of that makes any sense. I have a nice gaming pc with an NVIDIA 3090 graphics card and I’m very impressed with the laptop. Highly recommend for gaming!

This thing has absolutely slayed every game I've thrown at it, feels premium, and an incredible value compared to the Intel/nVidia options. HOWEVER, the BIOS definitely needs some work. If I don't go in before I play a game and turn on Cooler Boost mode (which setting it to Extreme Performance Game mode does NOT activate), the fans are not nearly aggressive enough and it WILL overheat and shut down. I almost took it back before I managed to figure that out. Hopefully MSI will release a patch, as leaving Cooler Boost enabled when doing "normal" laptop stuff is very frustrating with all the fan noise.

The short and sweet is that my teen son and I had been looking around quite awhile for a gaming laptop that would travel well and be fast in both download and gaming speeds. This laptop does the deed beautifully. Don't hesitate. If you can afford it, buy it. You'll love it!

This computer is a pain. The hinge broke in a matter of months, and I almost never closed and open the laptop. For sure after that it remained open for the rest of the year (so much for having a portable device). The fans are super loud and today, it doesn't even turn on any more. Worst experience ever, 1 year and 5 months and it is trash already.

I bought this laptop because I was tired of buying HP and Dells that only last you a couple of years before you have to upgrade to another one. This one is really fast and easy to use. I mainly use it for work, not really into gaming.

The laptop has good specs but the build quality could be better. The floppy screen is very disappointing.

I have owned this laptop for several weeks now and I have nothing but praise for it. Others have reviewed the specs, so let me talk about how it FEELS. This is the most powerful computer I have ever owned and new hardware has never made me happier. The lit up "chiclet" keyboard is a breeze to type on and gives me exactly the amount of resistance and feedback I am looking for. My old laptop struggled on some ad-heavy sites but this beauty crushes them without breaking a sweat. The screen is so detailed that I need to get new glasses in order to actually see it. If I owned Cyberpunk 2077, it would probably give me 30fps with ray tracing on (so say reviewers on YouTube), but I don't own it and nothing I have thrown at it has been less than 100. The build quality is rock solid, the look is clean, the speed borders on unreal and I recommend it without reservation.

A great gaming laptop that requires little to no micromanaging when it comes to enjoying high end video games. Is capable of doing more than just gaming such as being able to handle high processes when working in Adobe Cloud applications.

I great overall gaming laptop but man it runs hot and loud on high peformance mode and no mux switch really is a huge turn off
