I took a chance on amd again. Back story I had a 6800 gpu and had multiple driver issues with crashes. Dump card and got a nvidia card no issues. Took a chance on this due to reveiws and deal on black friday and again driver issues. Tried driver roll back and windows 10/11 and lower graphics with no change. Returned laptop. Dont understand all great reveiws when in 3 separate games crashes/freeze/time outs. I bought for work and lite gaming when im bored and not home as my 3090 with 5950 rig is their. Work i can do but try to game and nope. So i returned it. Plus this thing gets hot when gaming. Sorry amd i tried. Still like your cpus but not gpu.

This gaming laptop is very nice. Super fast SSD for loading the OS and my games. Games payed so far. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive: highest settings hitting 200FPS+ ( this is an older game so not as graphic intensive) Chernobylite: highest settings with a constant 60FPS During game play the fans kick in and they are actually fairly loud but when your games are at the highest setting this is to be expected. There is a bit of a whine when playing a graphic intensive game. Keyboard: key travel is excellent, no 10 key set up on this keyboard. Screen: 1080P at 240hz, you just cant ask for a better and brighter screen than this. Its really top notch, color accuracy is very very good too. Game play and mouse movement is so smooth. Input lag from my gaming mouse and the keyboard is non-existent Very strong WiFi connection. I was hitting 500-600 Down with the router being upstairs. Battery life is great if you're at 60hz. It takes a dive though when the screen refresh is at 240. I just leave it plugged in so I can always have 240hz. Pros: Great speedy processor, awesome GPU, 16 GB ram, 240hz Screen, great keyboard, Fast 1TB SSD. Cons: No Ethernet, no 10 key, not touch screen.

Laptop quality is amazing. CPU is highly efficient, GPU can run just about any game, and the 16gb of RAM should be enough for anything. Screen looks very good and the HZ make it the smoothest one I've ever seen. Battery life is pretty good but I'd recommend having plugged in at all times, and I would highly HIGHLY recommend purchasing a cooling pad with the laptop. It heats up very fast running modern AAA titles.

One of the best thin gaming laptops out there

Had this about 2 months now. It's a really great laptop that I'd highly recommend to anyone wanting a powerful but thin and nice-looking laptop. it pretty much beats out all its competitors in multiple ways. It is cheaper than all of them and can get better performance. Ill sum up my thoughts in a few different categories. Battery (5/5): Although this is a 'gaming' laptop, it also has fantastic battery life. Go look at any comparison and review of this thing. Its consistently near the top in battery life among gaming laptops. On battery on the silent mode (which has fans completely off for any normal, non-gaming use), I can easily get 10 hours of use from this. And that's with the keyboard backlighting still on and the screen till at 240Hz. Putting the refresh rate to 60Hz and power more to battery save could probably get even more life out of it. For reference, as I am writing this review, I have 46% left and Windows says that will get me 5 hours and 26 minutes. Screen (4.5/5): The display on this is what mainly swayed me towards it. 240Hz is amazing, especially on an IPS screen. I do not see any ghosting. Colors are great too. Covers ~98% SRGB and ~70% DCI-P3. Also has freesync from 60-240Hz, which is great as you can really only push 200+fps in a few titles (esports and old games). Response times are great with an average of 5ms response time, which is really good. Only slight complaint is the brightness tops out at 300nits. Definitely not as bright as my MacBook Pro, but I still haven't had any issues with the brightness, even in direct sunlight as the anti-glare coating works really well. Build Quality (4/5): Build quality and form factor are also really good. It's all metal and is also a really sleek design that doesn't scream 'gamer'. I don't feel embarrassed about using this in public like I would for 90% of other gaming laptops. One of the best things about this laptop is that its very portable due to its weight and thinness. Only complaint is that there is a slight creaking sound from the left palm-rest area, and the trackpad isn't as nice as ASUS, Razer, or Apple laptops. Performance (4.5/5): The performance of this is great. has a R7 5800H and Rx 6700M, so an all-AMD build. Being a thin and light gaming laptop, I wasn't too sure what to expect, but its blown me away. I'm able to easily manage 120+ fps in FH5 on high/extreme settings, and 85+ fps in Halo Infinite and BF2042(embarrassingly bad game btw lol) on a mix of medium/high/ultra-settings. having 10Gb of VRAM will also be very useful in the future. This thing is also absurdly fast to boot up. You can go from fully shutdown to logged into windows in under 5 seconds easily. You can also get good performance on battery life too. I ended up being able to play an hour of rocket league in the airport when my flight got delayed keeping a locked 240fps while playing on battery on the silent profile (outlets were broken at my gate). Thermals and Noise (3/5): Being a thin and light, this is a compromise you have to make. In the Extreme performance, Cooler Boost, and even Balanced profiles, the fan noise does get quite loud when gaming. Interestingly though, it is still quieter than a lot of its competitors 9Asus Zephyrus is like 10db louder). Thermals are also a slight issue; you will regularly see the CPU hitting its thermal limit of 95C. GPU temps are mostly fine though. Temps can be greatly improved by simply elevating the laptop as it suck air from the bottom. Doing this can drop the temps a fair amount for me, below the thermal limits. I would imagine a cooling pad will also help even more. Software/Drivers (3/5): So far, my only issues are with MSIs GPU drivers. The issue is they have only released 1 GPU driver for this, and it is quite old (September 14). this means it does not contain any of the optimizations for newer games like Forza Horizon 5, Halo Infinite, Cod Vanguard, Battlefield 2042, etc. This means you are leaving a lot of performance on the table (more on that in a min). What's the big deal? Can't you just uninstall the MSI drivers and use the ones direct from AMD? Unfortunately, it isn't that simple. Attempting to do that will cause you to be unable to use Freesync, which is a big no-no. As a result, you have to install the new AMD drivers over the MSI ones, which results in some slight weirdness. You get the most up to date drivers and keep freesync, but you lose hardware accelerated GPU scheduling, which does actually I've a slight fps boost in some games. I would still recommend everyone do this though. To do this, you need to do the following: 1. Make sure Windows and all your drivers are up-to date (latest windows, latest MSI provided drivers). 2. Go to the AMD drivers site and download the latest AMD GPU drivers. Also, go to MSI's site and do the same (for a backup if something goes wrong) 3. Download Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) 4. Turn off Wifi 5. Open DDU, go to settings, and select the box "Prevent download of drivers from windows update". It's at the very bottom. 6. Go to windows settings -> System -> about -> advanced system settings -> hardware -> device installation settings -> no 7. Now, install the new AMD GPU drivers (dont do clean install or anything). 8. Once done, restart 9. Undo the changes you made in steps 5 and 6 Now, you should have the newest drivers while still having freesync. it should be noted that I ran the aptop for 1 month with the default MSI drivers, and 1 month with the newest drivers through this method. I never had a single issue with the MSI ones, but with the newest I have had some driver related issues and my temps seem a tad higher. It is still worth it though, because in using the Forza Horizon 5 built in benchmark, at the same graphics settings, updating the driver with this method brought my FPS from 76 to 94 (in game its much higher, usually around 120). My Timespy score also went up from 9200 to 9900. Overall then I'd give this laptop a solid 8.5/10. It's really, really good, and even better for the price of $1299.99 which I got it at. There are some flaws that you have to accept with it being a thin and light (noise and temps), but the only real cons I can find are the driver situation. The benefits far outweigh these, however, making this one of the best laptops out there.

Decent laptop that has a very clear and smooth screen. It runs Fortnite and COD well. I use it for school and gaming. This has a good battery life and has a power saving mode that works great. For gaming I use the extreme performance mode to get max amount of fps. It does get very hot for some reason, but it doesn't act up or technically overheat. The MSI Center is kind of bad though and can cause some of the keyboard functions to not work like the mute, camera, keyboard lights, and mode switch buttons. Hopefully MSI improves that on the MSI app soon. Other than that, great computer for the price I bought it at when it was basically half off.

The MSI is clearly a solid, slightly entry level gaming laptop, but a higher end device for other hobbies such as heavy video editing, and streaming Youtube. The design is pleasantly thin, sleek, and light, especially for a gaming laptop with its performance value. One issue I must mention is that there is a bit of a thermal throttle. So the fans hit somewhere in the 50DB-ish range, but after a good amount of gaming it will throttle, which is why I think it is still more of an entry level device. I did manually turn the fan up to the MAX, which was pushing 60 at that point, and the throttling seemed to decrease. The fan does get kinda loud but this is the price you pay for having such a thin, sleek design. PROS Fantastic battery life --- -Gamed for 6 straight hours with power to spare -Streamed YouTube for close to 10 hours also with power to spare -Screen color accuracy is absolutely amazing (99.9% SRGB!) -- great for gaming, but even more great for video editing - Screen is 1080p at 240hz --- truly a perfect looking display -zero lag with my gaming mouse and keyboard (major plus) CONS -The thermal throttling - No USBC charging (this really should be standard on all devices at this point) - No ethernet either Unfortunately it is also not touch screen, of which I have been spoiled with so not having it is a letdown. For what it is, it is excellent quality and satisfactory performance, but for the price point, you can probably get equal quality for a slightly cheaper price. This is still a great deal though and worth the buy.

It has very good specs for its price, that's undeniable. Some things that I noticed after a year or so of ownership is the following: It gets dirty easily, and its not too easy to clean the vents. The build quality is some of the worst i've seen, if you plan on moving around a lot, bringing this with you as you go. You have to be incredibly careful not to bump it (I'd recommend a hard traveling case.) I used a soft carrying bag and one such bump broke a hinge and caused a ton of problems with the casing going forward, leading to me having to replace a hinge with tape. Also the keys face wear rather quickly and i've had a couple pop off from small plastic hinges breaking on them. The thing is loud, I mean really loud. If you want to play anything demanding, like Baldur's Gate 3 or anything else current, you need this thing on blast or it may overheat and shutdown. Don't get me wrong, it runs games well, but its loud. The 240hz thing seems overkill, I don't think you'll ever see 240 frames in a game unless your favorite game is mine sweeper. As mentioned before briefly, this laptop is probably one of the best valued ones you can get. It has run everything i've thrown at it at high or higher settings, including current releases. You just have to treat this thing like a baby, and I also don't feel comfortable opening up a laptop, especially when MSI's support can be rather confusing. I know I said a lot of negative things about this laptop, but I think it can be a really good deal if you're especially careful with it, and don't mind a little jet engine firing up for big games. As with all things, your mileage may vary, this was just my experience.

    Slim Powerful Extraordinary

The MSI Delta is a slim/powerful laptop that does all things wonderfully. Upon unboxing this gem, I was impressed from the first sight of it. It was well packaged, this showed the level of attention to detail with this laptop that I would experience. The setup was straight forward. Although in my opinion it seemed to go through the process to include updates much faster than what I could remember. No instruction on set up was required, because the laptop itself walked me thoroughly through each step of the process. From setting up my internet access to begin the process, to updating my MSI with the latest version of all software. From start to finish of the evolution was less than 15 minutes. When setup was complete I put it through its paces. This machine is blazing fast! I could go from one website to the next with no lag time at all. I was able to stream video on half the screen while surfing the web on the other and the MSI Delta did it without any hesitation. Streaming video was vivid and the sound quality produced by the internal speaker performed wonderfully. I was able to use various programs without any issues at all. Now the ultimate reason for purchasing a powerhouse of a laptop like this one is for gaming and let me tell you the Delta's performance was out of this world. I've never seen a simulator game load so fast. I was able to download my simulation game in a matter of minutes and was up and playing in no time flat. The graphics on this machine is on an entirely different level and when I say there's no lag at all, THERE'S NO LAG AT ALL!! I usually play this type game on a desktop, but after loading it on this machine, I could never go back. The performance is second to none. All in all, I 100% recommend this laptop. It has met and exceeded all of my expectations. This one will be hard to beat.

    Good specs, hard to upgrade

I love this machine. I was hoping for a solid 14 inch laptop - but settled on this for the specs and the upgradability. This has 2 nvme slots and 2 RAM slots. Perfect for the tinkerer like me. Well, unfortunately you have to remove the motherboard to get at any of the things to upgrade them, which involves disconnecting ribbon cables, speakers, the battery, and fans at least partially. What a pain. However, if you're careful, it'll all go fine and you can end up with 64GB of RAM and 1.5TB of nvme storage, as spec'd, I feel liek this machine can do anything I need. Performance, the 5800H is solid, great performer on CPU intensive tasks. No complaints, a 5900HS or HX may have yielded a slightly improved performance, but nothing to be too sad to leave on the table. The 6700m is a great card, pushing solid FPS on Warzone, Subnautica, Far Cry 5, and every other game I play. The 10GB VRAM is wonderful for this laptop. Keyboard is alright, the keys feel a bit squishier to me, I make a few more typing errors than normal, but I expect to settle in. Screen has a great refresh rate - can't speak to color appearance as I have no tools to measure and I don't have another screen to compare it to...but it works. Looks nice. Weight is good, a bit big overall in stature, but thin, so it doesn't feel weird to carry around. Downsides - gets a bit toasty while gaming, fan noise can be a little intrusive. Headphones takes care of the second, not playing on your lap will help with the first. Biggest complaint, no type C charging. Silly omission by MSI, sure, maybe don't game on a type C charger, but just the 5800H and integrated graphics should survive on 100W via type C. Highly recommend if you're looking for solid laptop gaming.

Awesome Laptop, especially with Black Friday deal

Absolutely love this laptop. Got it at an awesome deal of about $1300 during Black Friday, which I believe is unbeatable given the quality of product you're getting. For example, if you compare this with the Lenovo Legion 5 with an RTX 3060 [which many people considers to be one of the best laptop models from 2020 and 2021] from *ahem* a competing vendor at the same price, you're getting a higher refresh rate screen (240hz vs 165 hz), more VRAM (10GB vs 6GB), higher performance (in some games; the 6700M has been compared to be between a 3060 and 3070), longer hour battery life, better WiFi card (the Intel Wifi 6 AX210 card in here is very reliable), a metal chassis (versus plastic), and also lighter (4.19 lbs vs 5.28 lbs). The only drawbacks I've seen so far is that the temperatures can get pretty hot in games and fans can get quite loud. I personally don't mind the noise level and usually I use an external keyboard during gaming so the heat near the keyboard doesn't affect me. However, one thing to note is that if you're planning to dual-boot your machine with a Linux distro like Ubuntu, since the hardware in here is so new you might run into issues with drivers compatibility. For example, on Ubuntu 21.04 I kept getting a weird bug where the screen flashes randomly every minute or so, but when I do a fresh-install with Ubuntu 20.04 LTS the screen issue goes away but my Wifi card isn't recognized. This is more likely an issue with driver supports in Linux than the device itself but it's definitely something to consider when using a laptop with such new hardware as this.

Had this laptop for almost a month. Zero issues! Thermals are great, gaming is smooth and it can handle heat well. Had no issues with the hinge, but you should test the hinge before you test anything else. (Always test the hinge on ANY laptop). Sometimes manufacturers overtighten hinges, can happen with ANY brand! Screen is beautiful and the fast refresh rate is almost as good as my M1 Pro MBP. Too bad Apple has made the Mac into a giant IPad... Gaming is great, especially with the high frames! Battery life is also great, just keep in mind it's a gaming laptop, put the system in "Balanced Mode" in the MSI Center App and Windows battery in "Best Power Efficiency" and it will last you the entire day. AMD CPU and GPU can handle anything you throw at it. I'd recommend getting a cooler pad down the road to keep temps low if you plan on keeping the computer for a few years. I play in high in modern games and Ultra in games from a few years ago. Highest temps I've seen was 87'. Then it would go down a bit, that was due to playing Doom on the highest settings. Heat is bad for laptops, especially thin ones. Be cautious or get a good cooling pad. MSI is a trusted brand, take care of your system and it will take care of you. I had to go back to Windows due to school needing virtualization, MSI made the transition easy and exciting. I don't plan on ever going back to Apple and their Silicon "Wall Garden" ever again! Buy this laptop or different laptop from the MSI brand. Steer clear from Lenovo, Asus and Alienware. This is my second MSI gaming laptop and I'm enjoying it every second of it!

Gorgeous machine thin and aluminum. Good screen at 240hz on paper the specs are top notch for gaming laptop . Sadly the setup was a nightmare. Having game mode would somehow turn off the fans or lower them to where I could only play a game for a few minutes and then it would shut off. I had to manually have the fans on full blast , high performance on the processor but game mode off so i can play more than 5 minutes. Call of duty would last 5 minutes but then the laptop was burning hot to the touch. I do have AMD game mode on. Hopefully MSI will fix this in an update to MSI center. Other than that it's a very nice laptop

I ordered this laptop for content creation (photo editing) and mobile gaming. I'll start off by saying the screen and performance is amazing. If you're playing lower demanding eSports games, the 240hz screen is very nice. I settled on this laptop over other options because of the performance of the new GPU and the screen has a color accurate display for the sRGB color space. My only complaint is that the fans can get pretty loud and the body can get very toasty if if you want to try and control noice. Also one last note, the motherboard is inverted so you'll need to completely remove the motherboard to upgrade ram or add a second nvme SSD. You'll only need to do it once in theory, but that's incredibly annoying compared to other laptops.

This computer is a sweet mid range gaming laptop. It's very light weight but will require a cooler of a a folding elevated stand to keep the thermals down and the fans on the quieter side. A set of of TWS capable BT speakers are a must too as the laptop's speaker are on the quiet side. The AMD software is a pain if you don't install the control software and the driver updater. I upgraded this laptop to W11. I didn't like W11 and went back to W10 with Classic Shell to skin it to look like W7 which I love. There is some bloatware and I don't like Norton products at all so that comes standard and was tossed out. Battery life is pretty good considering the hardware and thin light weight of this unit. It comes with Far Cry 6 and Resident Evil Village which both ran smoothly and I got about 4.5 hours off gaming on high settings after running the AMD optimizer for the battery. In all I really like this laptop and a USB-C hub can be used to hook up the GPU side to a TV or the HDMI which uses the CPU built in GPU. I didn't see a noticeable difference, but extra monitors could be hooked up this way too.

GPU power is 75 watt balanced, 110 watt performance. No Ethernet need USB adapter. This laptop is lower then the Hp Omen 15 with RTX 3070 in windows, but faster in dxvk/vkd3d linux, but slower in native linux games. No Mux Switch, second reason a marked a star off, external monitor over hdmi or usb c will bypass. Can upgrade RAM, WIFI and M.2 Nvme, laptop has 2 nvme drives. However you have to fully remove the motherboard from the chassis to do so which is number one reason I marked a point off. Intermediate/advanced skills need for upgrades. 2 usb 3.2, 2 usb c gen 2, one aux and hdmi port. power brick is small and does not create much heat like the Omen 15. Only ways around 4 pounds and has solid cooling, better then Omen 15 and smaller, but control heat is determined by skill of the user. I use Ryzen Controller in Windows and Linux to control temps and wattage of the 5800h. BIOS is solid, dual booting is easy with windows and linux, for linux you need a usb adapter for wifi and need to upgrade to xanmod-edge for fix. Overall, the laptop is amazing, shipping was fast and now I'm waiting for next line up of laptops from both amd, nvidia and maybe intel. Davinci Resolve does work in linux with amd 20.40 pro driver ./amdgpu-install --opencl=pal --headless --nodkms Price is all not good, should have been about 1500-1600 not over 1600. ASUS 6800m is cheaper, but it is clunkier and only getting a little more performance while pulling a lot more power. Has good RAM from what I can tell by game benchmarks.

This is my first gaming lap and I am thoroughly impressed! I have not played any hardcore games on this laptop but its power and capability probably do very well. Also, its ability to be able for upgrades on both RAM and storage. The Ryzen-7 may not be current gen, not too far off but it can handle most current gen games on the market. Yeah, the price is about what you would expect for a gaming laptop but i would highly recommend this laptop to that gamer or streamer looking to start either gaming or streaming channel.

The display is acceptable for the price, but the black was a bit lacking. On the plus side, there was no notable motion blur when it ran at lower refresh rates. The heat load was attained using "HITMAN™ 2" (released in 2018, not to be confused with "hitman 2: silent assassin" released in 2002), a notoriously intensive game that stresses the GPU and CPU very highly. The heat felt on the keyboard during gameplay is tolerable, and there was no notable heat around the touchpad area. The fan noise is as expected but unexpectedly whiny for the case size. The outer edges near the vents get warm during intensive gaming, so a lap pad would be useful if you weren’t using a table or desk. The temperature readings are higher when playing an intensive game that stresses the GPU and CPU. Less intensive games will stress the system less heavily overall, but if you’re streaming at the same time (which this hardware can handle with ease) you would most likely have higher heat loads than you’d experience during daily use but they’re still within reason. I’ve included screenshots from 3dmark's timespy benchmark and hitman 2's built-in benchmark. hitman 2 was running at identical 1080p ultra, and I let it loop a couple of times to let them heat up to show saturated heat performance in actual gaming. The RX6700M appears to be too new to appear in the 3dmark database. I ran 3dmark twice, once from an idle cool state and once after running stress tests to heat up the laptop to see how much the performance drops. The only downside for me was the lack of a wired ethernet port, but it does have wireless AX networking.

Having had quite a few laptops in my time..Everything about this one says quality! Appearance, feel, performance, sound.. its hits all the checkmarks! Looks wise its stealthy like something a secret agent would carry. Polished exterior and all black interior where the keyboard is and all with some futuristic designs cut into for what I'm guessing breath-ability and cooling. When the fans kick on they sound like small turbines not too loud but you can really tell they're working. It also has a multi color RGB back lit keyboard. IT has a few modes to cycle through to for whatever your liking may be. Different colors, pulsing colors, or slowly transitioning from one color to the other. (my favorite) The feel is unique. It's well built not too heavy not too light. The keys are made of some super soft what I'm guessing is rubber on top from the feel. Typing or using the keys takes barely any effort as if they're just floating there and very responsive. The sound coming from this is above average I'd say. Great highs with slight amount of bass. So great for gaming or music. It may be just a sign of the times but I really miss having the two click bars under the touch pad which this laptop does not have either. Nor does it have a disc drive. I guess most things nowadays is digitally downloaded but I prefer having something I can hold in my hand to show what I paid for haha The graphics were excellent, no drag or lag and it never got hot while I was playing so I'd say overall it's an excellent laptop .. a little high on the price point but you get what you pay for I'd recommend this to others

This gaming laptop checks almost all the things on the list. To get things out of the way there was 2 things I though could have been better. The keyboard is great for everything but gaming. I think the problem is I used my kids gaming keyboards and it's like night and day. This is not to blame MSI for this because the keys are actually quite nice for every day use. Just when you're gaming, it's just not the same. I think most gamers will understand. I, myself, don't game much, but could tell the difference. The second thing, is the speakers. Sounds ok, but just not loud enough. I don't expect to have a party using this speaker, but at 100, the tv at normal volume would drown this laptop out. But, the sound itself is pretty decent. It is a lot fuller than my other laptops. Both my kids have used this laptop and both are quite impressed with it's ability to run 95% of their games at high settings. The screen itself looks great and without any lag. I have to say, best screen of any laptop in my house. Laptop did get warm after long duration of play, but I think this is normal. All in all, a very good gaming laptop and perfect for on the go. My son wants to take it to college with him. But probably won't replace any real gaming towers.

Have only used this laptop a short while. But my first impressions are mostly positive.... Not going into specs - they are excellent, and available here on Best Buy. I can say, after all setup, updates - this came with Windows 10 - the computer is quite fast. Great for everyday use, for multi tasking, and gaming. However, MSI Center would not load properly - ended up downloading and using MSI Dragon Center. Also, I needed to go to MSI and do some driver updates manually. This runs games well.... There were mentions of running hot, but any gaming laptop will be hot when running games with heavy graphics. I ran a medium level game using a cooler, and it never got hot, and fan noise was not excessive. Some reviews complain of poor hinge design, only time will tell... Keyboard is very nice - good feel and travel on the keys. The back light can be customized under the Dragon Center. Screen is bright and colorful, with reasonable contrast. And there is the ability to set the "white balance". Overall, very nice gaming computer.
