I've gone through two of these motherboards. The first board had all its USB ports cut out in Windows (both 10 & 11, I tried both) no matter how many, or few, devices were plugged into it. BIOS and drivers updates did nothing to resolve the issue. I had to return it as not having a consistently working keyboard or mouse is a problem. Board #2, thankfully, has been completely problem free and show the potential of 12th Gen. I've had zero issues with USB, DDR5 support, or any other feature the board brings to the table. The only reason it's not scored higher is I've had to go through two boards to find one that works properly. And it's a bit overpriced for what it is. (Then again, all 1700 motherboards are overpriced so that issue isn't exclusive to the MSI Carbon.)

I purchased this product specifically for its support of lager/low latency data through put for M.2 NVME drives. When putting this MB with a brand new PC build, I was unable to boot to windows. After some troubleshooting, I discovered the issue is with the first two SATA ports. When contacting customer service, they confirmed that this is a known issue and approved an RMA. The RMA took almost a month to complete. When watching the process via the web portal, the "internal processing" of the unit took almost 2 weeks with the "Repair" taking a little more than an hour. Upon receiving my "repaired" item, I have found that nothing was fixed. Even upon visual inspection, it does not even appear that the item was handled much at all. When contacting the manufacturer again about this problem, they informed me that I am entitled to yet another RMA. This will follow the same time line and procedures as the first RMA with the potential option to be issued a different "refurbished" component that was submitted for the same issue. When informing them that that is unacceptable, they just threw company policies in my face. Considering this was a known issue at the manufacturer and it was unable to be fixed, I don't feel as if I will ever get a working product. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND not purchasing this item, while others seemed to have had success, if you are like me and get a non working product, you will most likely just have to eat the cost after a month or so of RMAs and poor customer service. I am very disappointed with MSI and will not be purchasing products of theirs in the future.

Comes with a lot of goodies, drivers, connectors, easy to install, works real well. Super easy xmp and OC settings.

Overall, great product. Was easy to set up and to update the BIOS.

Update the BIOS first thing, even before plugging in the CPU. I have an i913900K and it wouldn't post until I updated the BIOS. After update everything worked great! My RAM us running 6000 MHz with the built in profile with zero issues. Great motherboard for overclocking.

Product is very unstable, and will frequently refuse to POST despite use of supported memory configurations. Diagnostic codes will fluctuate depending on the day and will frequently settle on codes not included in the user manual, making diagnosis cumbersome to downright impossible. Will not boot with 64GB of RAM. Will not boot with XMP profile enabled. Overall a very frustrating experience and cannot wait to move to something different

I have always stuck with msi motherboards but wow this was an improvement from what I was used to. Setup guides seemed simpler, diagnostic on-board led is fantastic. I personally like the layout of the bios.

This motherboard just works great and has fantastic wifi antennas. The mb is future proof by having two PCIe 5 slots (really hard at this price point). MSI mystic Lights interacts well with my other RGB compatible lights.

Loved this mobo. Tons of features and ports. I was able to swap out my current mobo and not run into less rgb and fan header issues. Solid right of the box.

paired with a i5 13600k had to update bios other then that easy install and no problems

Great motherboard for the price. Does everything I need it to do.

Board did not work as advertised. Included msi software, specifically the bios update causes the argb circuit to shut down and bricks the argb controller chip. XMP does not work out of the box or after bios update for corsair dominator 5200 ram. Causes apps to crash constantly when turned on. After turning off, crashes still occur. Sometimes you get a BSOD, sometimes it will shut down the computer instantly. Perhaps the tomahawk or unity are better, i dont know. All i know is i spent roughly a month trying to get this msi board to work. The unit i bought from best buy was the second go round with this board with the same results. Best buy was great with their customer service and refunded me promptly.

How can i purchase a protection plan for this?? I want to make sure before i purchase!!??
