This DVD is definitely worth watching, although I would not rely solely on it as far as getting a complete and accurate historical understanding of the aftermath of the massacre of 11 Israeli athletes at the 1972 Munich Olympics. I don't say this as a criticism, really, because how much can be covered in a single movie? Besides, it's a complex multi-year subject in which not all the facts are yet known (probably never will be, since there are some conflicting details in accounts given by those who were involved directly or indirectly). There are a few documentaries out there that might add to a fuller understanding, but a viewer does not need to be into historical completeness in order to enjoy this movie. Not recommended for kids because of the graphic violence, etc., and they might lose interest because it's about an hour longer than the average movie. Overall, I'd give it 4.5 stars, and recommend it for the good acting, direction, production values, and engaging subject matter.

this shouldve won best picture in 05. i dont even remember what did win but all i know is that this is better. and of course coming from spielberg, you already know its good(and yes, kingdom of the crystal skull was good, too!!!). anyway, this film is just over 2 1/2 hours long wich might sound way to long, but its perfect for the story. this is a gritty, dark, realistic, and exciting masterpiece about the munich massacre back in 72 and will definetly be remade numerous times, but none will ever be as good as this. eric bana does great as the main guy(cant remember his character name at the moment). daniel craig(a.k.a. new james bond) does nice as steve. all the old guys in the gang are good and and all the other supporting roles do just fine. the little bit of the action there is is done in a great fashion. overall, its superb.

The commercials would make you think its one of those award winning films where its good to watch but nothing fun happens. Well this is a great film, on both scales. Its a great movie for those who love dramas and serious stories like Green Mile. But its also a great movie for action fans. Essentially the story is pretty much about guys getting revenge by doing hits, using car bombs, guns, etc.

This movie is definitely one of the best I have ever seen, and surely one of Steven Spielberg's best. The plot is fresh and suspenseful. I would have easily paid full price for this film, which makes Best Buy's price even better! I definitely recommend this movie to any of Steven Spielberg's fans or to anybody who just wants to see a truly amazing movie for almost no cost.

This is one of Spielberg's most challenging films. I wasn't sure how I felt when I saw it in theaters, but in the years since, it's one that I've rewatched often. It doesn't provide easy answers - it's not supposed to - but it does entertain, enlighten, and provoke.

Not only is this movie fantastic but in HD it looks & sounds great. Surround sound is taken advantage well so when it's raining all the speakers make the rain sound as if it's falling all around you. Would recommend buying this to upgrade the DVD version.

This is a great movie. The picture quality is amazing and for anyone who enjoys history Munich is a must see.

A totally captivating movie on the events after the 1972 Munich Olympic's tragedy. Highly recommended!
