I love this movie. I first bought it on VHS tape and have watched it consistently over the years. This Blu-ray copy is SO much better! First, you get the whole picture, not a panned image. And, the details are amazing. You see a lot in the background that you missed in earlier technology releases. Then there's the movie itself - great tunes abound and I never get tired of the story. If you love this movie, get the Blu-ray version. You won't regret it!

This 1962 musical starring Robert Preston and Shirley Jones was a highly acclaimed movie at the time of its release. While the movie did receive a Academy Award for Best Musical Score, the acting leaves one remembering the music as the reason for watching this movie. It's an enjoyable film to watch and the singing and dancing remind one of a different area of Hollywood that was not all CG and special effects. Nice to see Ron Howard in another very young role other than Opie Taylor. I enjoyed it.

One of the best musical movies. Robert Preston is great as Professor Harold Hill. Love to watch this movie.

Wanted my granddaughters to see this classic. They enjoyed it but it wasn't one of their favorite musicals. That being said, this is a must have if you like old time musicals.

Great cast and a lot of energy from the actors. A young Ron Howard shows his acting skills. Robert Preston is awesome as the traveling salesman turned band leader for River City, Iowa. One of my all-time favorite movies.

We had this movie . . . but it was missing from the jacket! Had to buy it again! Great musical with songs that are timeless. We watch it every 4th of July!

This is one of my favorite musicals. Shirley Jones and Robert Preston have such great performances in this, and their voices are incredible.

DVD upgrade. Nice transfer no need to go to 4K if it ever is released. Love the music
