I didn't know it didn't work for my phone

I tried it to make sure when I first got it, it showed the battery charging symbol but it never charged. I took it down on a trip to make sure I was using it right and I was. It charged my friends phone great, within an hour or so. I've never used it on my iPad yet. As for an emergency back up for my Moto G 5 plus, it doesn't work. It's to late to return it.
