My granddaughter wants to get started taking pictures. She has a camera that her mother had before being gifted a DSLR. At 13 this is a good time to start. So I purchased a battery for the camera and found some memory cards that I had used in my wife's camera years ago. I sent those to her as well. She is now ready to begin to learn how to use a basic camera that is not just a point and shoot. Good luck.
