I just love my new soundbar!

    Posted .

I bought this soundbar in December to upgrade my old speaker system. what attracted me the most was the fact that it has rear satellites for true surround. I can say I'm more than pleased! the wireless subwoofer is so convenient. I placed mine inside a small closet where it's not only invisible but makes lots (and I mean LOTS) of bass. sound is great and yes, they're loud! I'm very glad I chose this soundbar; not only they're so affordable compared to what you get for the same money elsewhere, but they're future proof by offering the latest in surround technology (dts:x and very soon, Dolby Atmos. with the next firmware update). I totally recommend them!

I spent a few years waiting on sound bar tech to catch up with 4K, Dolby and my OLED TV. Debated on this model or the 2 newer ones and even considered the model with 2 subwoofers, but ultimately chose this one for the less expensive price and because my living room is medium sized. Set up is simple IF you DON’T follow the instructions. I didn’t want to have to use 20 remotes for all of my accessories (cable box, blue ray, android box, Roku), and although they claim the sound is better when these are directly connected to the sound bar, I found that ease of use with the HDMI ARC connection to my TV and having the components hooked up to the TV is a much simpler solution and allows me to control everything the way I used to without any degradation of sound. Movies are incredible, the bass from the subwoofer literally shakes the room in some instances. I only use the sound bar remote for changing the auto sound settings (movies, sports, etc.), and I love that it has these auto options so that I don’t need to adjust every time I change the input. There’s also the ability to save up to 2 different settings, including volume, as “favorites”, if you will, which is a huge convenience. Definitely recommend this brand and product!

Great sound, but ARC and remote issues

This sound bar has great surround sound. We continue to have trouble using ARC HDMI with our Visio television - the sound bar connects, but loses connection each time the TV is turned off. Help docs on the Nakamichi site for Visio TVs do not align with the setup options of my TV model, so it's a slight inconvenience each time we turn on the TV. Also, after about a month and a half, the remote stopped working the sound bar unless you are about 1 foot away. We had no issues being farther away until all of the sudden it decided to stop working. Yes, we changed the batteries and it didn't change anything. Overall, the sound bar does a great job as far as sound goes. I know many other brands have some compatibility issues with Visio TVs, so that's not a surprise, but the remote crapping out after a month and a half? That's disappointing at this price.

Have had the Nakamichi Soundwafe Pro 7.1 system for 11 days now, and I am very satisfied with it. The clear voice function is excellent. I'ts nice to here the actors speaking even with a lot of background noise. Has plenty of overall power, but the 2 rear speakers are not powerful enough to overcome the soundbar itself unless you turn them all the way up.Took a few days to get use to the remote, lots of buttons with small print!! Cannot beat it for the price.

Had been trying to solve the rear system connection issue with my old receiver when I moved to my new house. Tried other wireless rear speakers system connector before but no good. Later I found this soundbar system with wirelss subwoofer and 2 two-way rear speakers system. It solved my problem with an excellent sound quality. Also save a lot of space for all the center, left and right speakers and the receiver that I had before. The sound bar serves all these purposes with superb sound quality. Highly recommended. They have a new verion as well.

    Excellent Surround Sound

We've had this surround sound system a little over a month. WOW!! It is fabulous! We have it connected to our 65" Sony Bravia TV and it provides very high-quality surround sound to our medium-size living room. We have the rear speakers mounted on a stand, and we love being surrounded by our movies now. Also, music is divine. I'm not writing a technical review, but you cannot go wrong with this system. It takes awhile to get everything set the way you like; however, once that is done, you will love everything about this system. When I tell Alexa to turn on my TV, she turns on the Nakamichi because I have the TV sound output set to external speakers. When I tell her to turn off the TV, she puts the SS system into standby mode. Love it, love it, love it!!

This setup has the whole range- from eardrum burstingly loud and obnoxious to subtle enough that my wife can sleep soundly while I can still hear the tv clearly. She was so mad when I brought this sucker into our bedroom, but now after a month I've offered to move it to the living room and she said no. Most definitely worth every penny!

This is my first soundbar. I was hoping for a bit more volume. Quality of the sound is great. It would be nice for BestBuy to have floor samples to compare to the brands they do have on the floor.

I was always a fan for Klipsh speakers but wanted to give it a chance. It was not a bad decision.Sleek look so many features for the price of any generic brand 2.0 system.Wish their surround speakers were wireless too.May be they can update it with new firmware.

    Lots of features, Lacking Audio

First impressions of the unit were nice, I read reviews and they seemed nice. I ordered it, once it arrived the packaging was nice and the unboxing was decent. Gives you all the items and accessories you would need to get started. Audio: Audio was not great, lacking highs and sounded muddy. Bass was okay and was present but at this price its just terrible. Audio settings helped audio a little bit but was annoying to constantly change. Besides audio the unit was pretty ugly and was a pain to use, the remote is cheapy but had back lit keys which almost no other soundbar remote has. Half the time the ARC wouldnt work correctly and had to use the remote to control it at all. Other things it lacked was auto input switching, chromecast etc. Long story short, Not worth 650$, it sounds okay after tuning and adjusting, but there are far better options like samsungs with the rear speaker kit that would offer better quality, auto input switching, and a lower price.

Please don’t buy this. Especially when you live with other people or an apartment. It’s accidentally loud and noisy sometimes, either the sound bar or the subwoofer and it’s never related to the settings, which must be manufactured defect. The Dolby aromas is great, but when the sound becomes hoarseness, you have to turn it off and on again, which happened to me at least 5 times in the past 10 months.

    Wow WoW WOW!

    Posted .

I have always loved audio, growing up in the 70's I went from records, 8 tracks, cassettes, CD's mp3 now stream. Nakamichi made High end cassette decks in the 70's really nice stuff in the day. I wanted a surround system clean without a tuner and all the wires but quality that surpassed Bose, Sony, Klipsch, JBL, Polk, you get the picture, I wanted the best system money can buy without the headache of a receiver and WOW this kicks some serious as~piration of what I was hoping it would sound like. I've owned some serious systems in the past with 12' subs 1000 watt amps separate tweeters tower speakers (Boston Acoustics) to the left and right of the tv....well none of that holds a candle to this Nakamichi - Shockwafe Pro 7.1-Channel Soundbar System. Every inch of my 30x30 home theatre with my 65' LG OLED TV is enveloped in sound which feels like it literally is coming at you from every conceivable direction including the 16 foot ceilings, it even blows away the movie theatre! Nakamichi is now a serious competitor I bet even against high end receiver surround systems as I have owned several prior to this and sold them with my prior homes as they were well integrated wired in and always wanted a better one to trade up to. Well I finally found it and could not be happier! And its not over, the Dolby Atmos firmware upgrade comes out next week mid June 2019 so this is getting even better, hard to believe. The sleek look, the quality of the unit, the easy setup, no fussing with pairing it just worked seamlessly right out of the box! Nakamichi Rocks (pun intended)! If you are on the fence about which system to pick just do it, you will not be disappointed, its worth every penny and then some! I did have a question re the release date of the firmware and Nakamichi customer service called me back within 5 minutes and were extremely nice and informative. THANK YOU NAKAMICHI!

    Budget sound system, premium sound

    Posted .

The 7.1 DTS X sound system by Nakamichi is one of those very underrated items that reward you by taking the risk of buying. Just like my purchase of the TCL R615 Roku tv or the OnePlus 5 phone, this system blows my mind why people are not buying these products that save you a ton of money and give you the same if not better experience than premium brands. The sound is phenomenal, the single 8" sub is more than enough boom for a small to medium room. The surround speakers are large and in charge. The sound bar itself is an all in one AVR without the hassle of a bunch of wires. The subwoofer if Bluetooth connected with the rear surrounds plugging into the sub so you can place it anywhere you'd like; mine is behind my couch. Overall, take the risk in buying something not many people know about, you may be as surprised as I was.
