Got this ordered,arrived worked a day,then it quit,or the screen was dark...had high hopes,but you get what you pay for these days...

I bought this for my employee to replace a failing laptop and it has proven itself to be very robust and quick for the money. Very happy with this purchase.

I normally like to give as positive a review as I can, because I rarely ever feel like proprietors pushing their wares are trying to get one over on me, but this time was a little different. I don't feel that the company Best Buy received this merch from (Joy Systems) is deliberately trying to sell bad equiptment, they just seemed unconcerned about my computer's malfunction. I received the refurbished computer in a very timely manner, but the screen would go black if I used it for longer than 10-15 minutes - then, I had to wait until the battery ran out until I could reboot it (I did not know to remove and reinsert the battery as means of solution). They told me to send it back, and I did. When I got it again a week later, it was as if they hadn't done anything to fix it. Same issue. "Send it back, again, we think we know what's up." Okay. I do. It arrives back home a week later with the SAME PROBLEM!! Astonished and totally flabbergasted at the ineptitude, I call back again. I send it back again. Same. Problem. Occurs. I am an incredibly patient person, especially when it comes to folks doing their jobs. Everyone makes mistakes and the world is an imperfect place. I get one gaffe. Two? Maybe you should just give me a new computer and call it a day with this one - but, if it works? I guess I don't care. Three times? Maybe I'm starting to be played for a fool. The only reason I didn't give up and just chalk it up as a loss is because I need the thing for a brand new business I had just started. Anyway, I was beside myself after the third time. I was rerouted to another warranty and repair guy and he walked me through another approach that involves me taking out the battery from the bottom of the laptop to reset it every single time the black outs occur. Frustrated and near furious, I decided to just be done with the issue. The computer is slow and does NOT operate as advertised, but I am able to use the internet and write my documents and that's all I really care about. Regardless, I will never buy anything refurbished from neither Joy Systems, nor Best Buy, as BB is guilty by association and did not offer any assistance of its own. That being said, I have always been satisfied with Best Buy's service in the past and will shop there for new items. Joy Systems should make one more computer and then quit.
