Slow to respond. Very difficult to connect. Spent hours setting up temperature and home kit only to have it all default on the first trip home after being out. Almost every light was a different color/shade of white.
We understand that you're facing some difficulties using your Nanoleaf Essentials Matter . For prompt assistance, we recommend getting in touch with our technical support team so they can walk you through some troubleshooting steps and get that sorted out for you.

Does not work with Alexa Echo devices

Regardless of what the product features say, this bulb is impossible to link with an Alexa Echo device. Even with a Mesh Router, the bulb will not link or pair to an echo device. Also, there is no Wifi connection, only Bluetooth if you want to control device through their app.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

That doesn't sound right, there should be no problem connecting your bulb to Alexa. This shouldn’t be happening, so we’d like to help figure out what’s going on. Could you share the exact model you’re using and confirm if it’s paired in the Nanoleaf app first? You can contact us here so we can walk you through the setup: https://support.nanoleaf.me/hc/en-us/requests/new

These bulbs are much brighter than the ones I had before and super nice!

These suck, installing them to the home kit was easy but the update took forever, like over an hour an when it said it was updated, and had me to update again like it never updated. Then using these bulbs with the home kit is horrible because they are always not responding. This may be an apple issue and i have 3 apple devices that are hubs and i have to constantly unplug a hub for it to reconnect to another hub. I used TP Kasa lights for years an never had an issue and only switched cause i wanted something to connect to my home kit but these bulbs are not it, Def would not recommend. I went back to Kasa.
Sorry for this trouble😓 We will make sure we help you with this! We might have to ask you some questions to troubleshoot. The New Matter enabled lights work over Thread. So they require a Matter-compatible smart home hub and a Thread border router. There were also firmware updates recently that should help with making sure they work better. We're always working to improve everything from the technical and the user experience perspective, so those things are only going to get better over time. As for Matter, that's partially still a mystery in the hands of the big players, but for our part we're going to make sure again that everyone has the best experience possible.

Easy setup, just works. You only need nano leaf app to create scenes and color changes but Home app does it all.

i got these thinking that i was gonna be able to control my room lights with siri. i was wrong. these do work with siri; when they want to. doesn’t matter if i’m using my phone, homepod, watch, whatever. the homekit app and siri both have problems with this thing. it took over an hour to setup, and half the time it doesn’t do what i need it to do. it’ll switch colors randomly, not connect to homekit, not change colors right, and all sorts of things. the app sucks, but it’s the only way i can get them to work. if you wanna spend this much money on lights, i recommend getting Phillips Hue’s. these suck.
We are truly sorry for this experience. The New Matter enabled lights work over Thread, So they require a Matter-compatible smart home hub and a Thread border router. There were also firmware updates recently that should help with making sure they work better. Please Update ALL Apple devices to the latest version, reset your Nanoleaf device (if it wasn't paired successfully previously), and try pairing again. That should make things better. Let us know if it worked out for you or not.

Currently these lights have pretty spotty connectivity to HomeKit. It's a little better in the Nanoleaf app but also spotty. Hoping their matter implementation gets better over time.

I have 10 other Nanoleaf bulbs but these are the first Matter bulbs I purchased. Had so many issues with them I returned them. Would not buy them again.
Thanks for your message. We can also help with trouble shooting and there has been some firmware updates that may also help make this issues get resolved. If it is still not working then if in the event your Bulb actually has a hardware defect that is causing it to act this way, we can definitely get it replaced at no cost. I want to really love these lights and Nanoleaf but they make it hard to do with how bad the Android App is. I know my lights are online via Thread as I can control them via the Google Home app and Nanoleaf Desktop app on Windows. But the Nanoleaf app on Android isn't able to see them online for whatever reason 95% of the time.
If your an Android User I would steer clear of Nanoleaf in general until they can make a working app.
Im leaving two stars as the lights are controllable via Windows and Google Home but it would be a five star review if the Android app wasn't terrible.
Hello Chrome, We're always working to improve everything from the technical and the user experience perspective, including things like the app, so those things will only improve over time. We have been releasing firmware updates more frequently to address some of these issues and we are genuinely sorry that you are still having this experience with the App. We appreciate this feedback, will there be anyway we can reach you so we can try troubleshooting with you with the Android App?
