NBA 2K11 can easily contend for Sports Game of the Year...for the console versions, that is.
I've been playing NBA 2K games since NBA 2K6. Why was I starting to have déjà vu as I was playing this game?
Because THIS GAME IS THE PS2 VERSION OF NBA 2K6 WITH AN UPDATED ROSTER AND SOUNDTRACK...THAT'S IT!
Let's start off with the good...
*crickets chirping*
And now, let's get on to the bad.
There is screen tearing on the court as you're playing; it feels like an arcade game even if you set the game to play as a simulation; close-up shots hit the rim (instead of the player releasing the ball so that it goes up and around the rim, it goes straight up, hits the rim, and comes straight back down); blocking shots is a cakewalk even on Hall of Fame; NBA 2K6 on the PS2 has better graphics; the PSP version of this game is worth $9.99 at the most; if I were to recommend this game to a friend, they would no longer see me as a friend.
I enjoy NBA 2K11 so much on a console, so I thought, "Why not take it on the go?" Apparently, I found out the hard way.
