Captures the NBA experience quite accurately. And of course the addition of NBA legends (especially Michael Jordan) provides a great look at the history of the game.

This game has a great variety of playing options. You can play as a dynasty, create your own player (my personal favorite) or you could play as one of the many "old school" players and teams dubbed, "Legends". There are also multi-player and Xbox Live games if you are into those types of competitions (personally, I only like to play alone and when is convenient so I do not ever log onto Xbox Live). The mode that I play the most, is the one where you can create your own superstar. Basically, you can customize the player with everything from the way their face and bod look, to how they dress to what nickname the announcers call them. There are also a large list of "common" names that are saved that would have the announcers calling the player. (So if your player's first and last names are on the lists, then the announcers call your player by name). You start off by playing in the All-American game so that draft teams get a feel for how you play. You then get interviewed by 3 teams and based on your answers, they decide whether or not to draft you. You then play on the team, earning your way to the starting lineup and working on your skills by playing in games and completing drills (if you choose to). What I love is that if you're not happy with your team, you could request a trade. You can list up to 3 top choices for teams but the team could send you anywhere based on what they can get for you. Overall, I love this game. Very addicting and there is always something different to do if you get bored with one mode. Sorry for not talking much about the other modes. I have only been playing for a week and do not want to talk about the other modes that I am not too familiar with. Best of luck!

buy it and get the game of the year addition which adds more options to the nba game with the most options ever.
