NBA 2K17 is the best basketball game period for any video game console and I recommend this to every hoop fan there is. This will be the perfect stocking stuffer to for the video gamer in your life. This is the ultimate exception in excellents when it comes to the NBA fan of the video games. Let's ball hard!

I purchased this game for my husband and he absolutely loves it. Graphics are great as well as the storyline.

Yeah it's the best basketball game out there but it launched with tons of bugs just like it does every year. Plus the my team mode is really watered down now with you being able to start your team with top players like LeBron and Westbrook. Graphics are clearer like a PC game this year but everybody looks like a stick figure. Last year's game was better. I only bought this for the new expansion team mode.

My son bought this game and he states that it is an amazing game with great story mode and awesome graphics!

Graphics have been a been smoothed out as the skin tones of the players look a bit more realistic and not always glistening all the time. With the additional details of including different body frames including wingspan, shoulders; there is a more distinction between 6'9" lanky Kevin Durant versus 6'9" bulky Zack Randolph. Noticed the shifts are not as mechanical and there have been additional specific celebrations by players and even specific behaviors from coaches...surprised there was no JR Smith shirtless celebration! Crowd graphics is less charade-like with a unique celebrations and sounds with a rotation of commentator. Kevin Harlan still provides play-by-play calls and Greg Anthony replaces Steve Kerr as the lead analyst. Clark Kellogg, the mainstay color commentator, is still there of course. Along with Doris Burke, there are is now CWebb, Steve Smith, and Brent Barry. Even Ernie Johnson, Shaq, and Kenny Smith is there for you in MyCareer mode. Gameplay is pretty identical to NBA 2k16, but there have been a few adjustments. The AI specifically the defense has been improved to adjust to individual players like Stephen Curry so you can have more freelance offenses and defense for all teams. Blocking from help-side looks more realistic, and the stealing can rely on more anticipation to knock the ball away. Still trying to take advantage of this myself. However, it is the career mode that is pretty crazy. There are decisions that affect your playing and even more consequences that could derail or end your career. Haven't gotten too deep into it but as Michael Jordan, the actor was talking to me...I swear I thought I was watching the PG-13 of the drama

NBA 2K17 has proven to be a significant improvement in gameplay. It just "feels" better this year; the gameplay "flows" in a much more believable manner, with player movement particularly with rebounding, handoffs, and contact layups seeing real improvement. AI teams are quicker to adjust to your offensive attack, taking note of your scoring preferences and countering, forcing you to be more creative. I look forward to getting deeper into the MyGM/My League additions: offseason trades, conditional draft pick swaps, full league team relocations and rule evolution, etc. which, I think, will make these modes more engaging and believable. Graphically, the improvement over '16 is marginal (player hair looks better, the crowds are more varied and reactive to game situations). Some problems do exist in this initial release that I hope are fixed in soon-coming patches: the timeout coach screen is a mess and seems like a solution to a problem that didn't exist and no one asked for. Making substitutions is an absolute chore during timeouts and the strategic adjustments you make don't seem to "stick" at the moment, reverting back to default settings once gameplay resumes. Based on 2K's history of post-launch game support, I'm confident that issues like this will get resolved, so I gladly give them the benefit of the doubt. All in all, this was a more than worthwhile purchase for me and I look forward to putting in 100's of hours into this edition. Best yet!
