Certain races in the game are offered and when selected, the player is prompted to have to purchase the content as DLC (downloadable content). This practice should be offered as an option at the start screen, instead of fooling the player into thinking that the races that are offered IN the game, are playable in the game for which you have ALREADY PAID. If it weren't for this disappointing "feature", the review would be perfect as this game is potentially the result of combing the best of Need For Speed combined with the best of Burnout. Beautiful graphics, wonderful car control and sense of speed. It just feels incomplete when I'm being enticed to buy something while playing the game. But who knows? Maybe by the time I write this a patch will be released unlocking all of the content that they place in the game and then chose to lock until you shelled out more money; if that's the case, then consider this review upgraded to a perfect score.

This is by far the worst Need for Speed game produced to date. The past few NFS games have been met with mixed reviews but I still found them to be enjoyable. This one on the other hand is just dreadful. There is no storyline, which I admit isn't a huge deal to most racing games but NFS usually has some interesting story. The control of the cars is very difficult to learn...half the time it seems like it wants to be a racing sim, the other half it think its an arcade game. The streering is bad, the braking is bad. And if you just tap another vehicle or wall you crash and your race gets interupted by this annoying "crash" sequence. if you want a fun arcade NFS racing game this holiday season go pick up the original Most Wanted game that was released when Xbox 360 was first released. Even though it's many years old, it's way better than this game. The makers of Need for Speed should be ashamed of putting their name on this. An even better suggestion would be to go buy Forza Horizon. It's a lot more fun and enjoyable arcade racer.

I purchased the xbox 360 video game need for speed "Most Wanted" limited edition for 59.99 plus tax. Last weekend the product was in Target and Kmart Circular for 39.99. I called customer service...( a 27 minute adventure) to take advantage of the price protection. The customer service rep told me ultimatly that this lower price was for the non-limited edition model. I begged her to just look online at either Target or Kmart to see that it was indeed the limited edition version. I told her that if she would not even look at this I would be forced to send the Best Buy copy back... she replied ok... go ahead. I jumped in my car after hanging up the phone and drove to Target and PURCHASED the Need for Speed "Most Wanted" Limited edition for 39.99 plus tax. I have it in my car right now and would be more than happy to send a picture of it with a copy of the receipt! Needless to say, this will be the LAST product I purchase from Best Buy!! I will be sure to tell anyone who listens about my experience with your customer service.

Big step up from last years game. Single player is great. Nice to have every car at your disposable from the beginning you just have to find them. Police chases put you in that speed feeling that the last few games got away from. The crashes become somewhat like they tried to copy burnout but they still fit. If your a fan of any of the older nfs games this definitely is a step back to its roots. For people that want to review by just saying bad but have no substance then compare it to old games ignore. You don't want the same thing every holiday. It's indeed a solid pick up.

Yeah I used Burnout twice. It's good and bad at the same time. Taking out the competition is fun and getting their boost is cool. However crashing into a non-movable trashcan not fun. The original Most Wanted was a more pleasant experience. The speed and intensity wasn't always there but I liked that. It gave you a chance to go back and relax or build up your cash reserve. This game stressed too much Burnout style racing, minimalistic cops (a regular mainstay in Need for speed) and lack of story. Sorry the last Most Wanted and Undercover had decent (not great) storylines. Is it a good racer-yes. Good buy for 20-30- yes. Good time filler yes. But I hope the next Need for Speed goes back to the roots of the game. I've been playing since the first Hot Pursuit on the playstation. Those are the racing games I enjoy. And on a PS3\360 those are the games we deserve with todays graphics to boot.

If you liked the most recent NFS:HOT PURSUIT, or any of the Burnout games (specially Burnout Paradise) ; you'll love this game. This is not a hard game as one of the "bad" reviews below states, in fact that person recommends much harder games than this as being "easy ". This is a arcade racer with 90% of its cars available from the start as long as you find them. The others are "Most Wanted " cars you unlock by beating them. The other challenges in the game are more for people who just like to mess around & have fun, or people that like to complete 100% of a game. Its great fun with easy & challenging races for lots of cars. Definitely don't listen to the guy who's mad cause he tried to get a price match the wrong way.

As with all sandbox games the narrative is of your own making but this is even more true of Most Wanted. The side-effect is that it can feel aimless at times. If you desire structure, if you wanted a game to be meted out to you, you might find its instant freedom somewhat overwhelming. But Most Wanted is all about deviation and deviance. It’s the racing game for people who don’t tend to like racing games. You’re not punished for missing that apex or abandoning that nagging racing line. It’s undoubtedly one of the year’s most exhilarating experiences.

I had rented this game before, a few years ago, and liked it, but never did buy it only due to having no money. I finally had some spare money, was walking around Best Buy, and saw this and bought it. I am not a huge race game driver, but am mostly a FPS person. I do like to occasionally go fast in the safest way possible---in a virtual world. Nobody gets hurt or killed. And with this game, I love that there are so many REAL cars, and most of them you just pull up and can switch cars just like that. You can drive around as much as you want, and race when you want. Fun game.

I love the fact how you can drive almost any car in the world and how you can drive on almost any terrain such as dirt, aspault, concrete and even snow sometimes. You can basically do this offline AND online. Online there are so many players who play this game for its graphics and challenges. Some challenges are jump distance, stay on the platform, racing and even TEAM racing. If you decide to buy his game please make sure you have played other racing games otherwise it will take time to learn how to master speed and stability. Keep those racing games going EA Sports!!!

I don't know why it is getting so many bad reviews.... it is a well made game, filled with high action racing, amazing cop chases, and the coolest, and fastest cars in the world. cars are easy to customize by using the D-Pad, that is also how you select races and change cars. the multiplayer seems like a lot of fun, but i havent played it a lot yet... hope this was helpful...

This game is really fun! There aren't many XBox 360 games available anymore, so when we saw this in the center aisle bin we snapped it up! It's great for us (a family) because there isn't any super crazy violence or weaponry. Just fast cars running from the police. It's cool that you don't have to save up a bunch of money for different cars like in Rivals, you can simply swap out. All in all, this is a great car driving game!

This game has intense cops that are hard to escape when maximize the heat. There are quite a bit of lack on flexibility in this game, like limited fix modification. I did not get any story line that was behind every wanted racers which made it less interesting. If they were to but the same effort like they did in "Most Wanted" Platinum game and customization, then it would have been a great game. This looks like a game rushed out to get short term gains.

The original most wanted was my favorite NFS game. The cop chases, pursuit degrees and pursuit blockers made the game. I have to say that single player for this version is just as fun and let's not forget the updated graphics. I can't say much for the online play because I don't play online.

There are a lot of cars available which is good. But once you find a car, you are not allowed to customize it. Bummer. The handling of the cars is tedious and I didn't find any way to change it. Some of the visuals are really good. There isn't much of a story line. You race to earn points. More points will make you move up the Most Wanted list. The objective is to top the list and thereby become the Mast Wanted.

We bought the game because we heard it was good. We also wanted to have another game besides "just dance" that utilizes the kinect. Not very good with driving games as I prefer First person shooter games. Still fun to try to play. I also like the sound overall. It has great quality and it shines when you hear it through a surround sound system with Sub.

I bought this because of memories of playing with my kids. We had all the NFS games. I must say maybe its rust or advanced age but this game is hard for me to control!! I use a standard wireless xbox 360 controller with pretty basic NFS controls. I cant keep the car straight!! Maybe I need practice but I still love it!!

Need for Speed is a fairly violence-free game with lots of action. It's never dull and has enough options to keep busy for hours. You can see your progress by repeating scenes and runs - trying to beat earlier performance is always a challenge. Options for cars keep my 14 year old continuously interested.

Criterion Games made another gem in this installment of Need for Speed. Almost everything about this game is perfect. Controls are fluid, graphics are amazing and the sound track is excellent. Even the multi-player is fun. The only small imperfection is how short the story is. Overall my 2nd favorite Need for Speed game.

This is a great game, cars have neat customization options and there are plenty of them scattered about the world to make exploration feel fresh and exciting. Not a whole ton of modifications, but that's okay. I havne't had a racing game in awhile, so I just wanted one while I waited for the next Forza on Xbox One.
