    NFS rules, period.

I'm a NFS fan. Have them all since the first one. Every one of them I like, but my favorite one is "Need for speed 4(High stakes)". Reson is because I like the street racing better and the idea of getting away from cops or chasing some one driving a Ferrari or better yet a McLaren. NFS went through a lot of downs after NFS Hot pursuit 2 and don't get me wrong I like the free roam of Undergroung2 and designing the body kit and vynils. This game is very good, so far I only have it on my XBox 360 and I just bought my PS3 and still waiting for my XBR Sony 46 inch, it's coming tomorrow. My suggestion is TAKE THIS GOOD GAME and make NFS High Stakes 2

I just picked up the game at a great price of 39.99 five days ago.The gaming is very intense and it gets my adrenaline pumping which is good. I'm gonna say that there are minor flaws but overall all this is a great racing game! The graphics are pretty good but not astounding to me especially after watching previews on tv before purchasing this game. The driver simulation is pretty real and i'm content with the feeling. The line up of the cars in the game is a good mix, it has all the cars i like. The sound is incredible but i think the exhaust notes aren't accurate to each car, though it ressembles the car. Would I recommend this game.. of course!!

Have to start saying that I never played any NFS before. This is my first one and I enjoyed it a lot. Graphics are amazing, sound is so realistic and gameplay is awesome for me. Controls are a kind of hard but just get accustom to the joystick. My personal opinion is that this is a good game and deserves a 5 for me. Have in mind that I am not the biggest fan of race games, this is my second one so far beyond Gran Turismo 5.

I bought this game when it went on sale cause it was a great deal! I loved the graphics and the cars. although if you play it just to have fun instead of actually trying to race it is extremely hard if your in the cockpit... its to easy on the chase cam. So buy this game if you like the precise style racing not like Midnight club were you just zoom around and hopefully you dont wreck. This game is very good especially since it is Need For Speed's first precision style racing unlike gran turismo who has done it for years!... please go back to Underground street racing and make a killer "Underground 3"

Need for Speed last releases, lets be honest sucked. This release of NFS brought things back into perspective. It has to be argumentatively one of the best from the francise. The GRAPHICS, GAMEPLAY, THE HANDLE, and overall just fun to play. It really puts you in the driver's seat.

I really really like this game. Definitly in my top 2 of best games for PS3 and i will tell you why. First, driving in the cockpit of the car with a Logitech GT Force feedback steering wheel with the gas pedals is so unreal, you really feel like your in the car racing, I can feel my heart rate go up as soon as the start light starts changing. The sound is incredible as are the graphics. Saturdays and Sundays I turn the volume way up with the 7.1 surround sound and its just rediculous how good it sounds it really adds so much to the intensity. Graphics are surreal and i feel they did a masterful job with everything except for the pointlees helicopter that flies in a circle after races(jeez i know i gotta find something to complain about). But seriously the edges are very smooth and the tires actually look like they are on the asphalt. I can go on all day so ill skip to the bottom line. BOTTOM LINE: This is by far one of the best games so far for the ps3(top 3 easily), Intensity is greatly increased with the Logitech GT Force Steering Wheel and Pedals, seemless internet play(when i say seemless i mean flawless and my connection is bad most of the time), great graphics, loads of fun and I highly highly highly reccommend this game. Its one of those game you can spend $400 dollars on between the steering wheel $150, the game $60, and the steering wheel stand $150(all this if you really want to immerse).

Fun game with difficulty settings that allow almost anyone to play. Being my first game for my new PS3 I was impressed with the games ability to start me off easier and allow me to change difficulty when I wanted to instead of having to reach a certian level. You have so many options to choose from I forsee that I will get many hours of gaming out of my investment. Graphics and sound are great in HD, hooked up to 5.1 surround you can hear your opponents behind you to the right or left it's pretty intense!

First of all, I'm a huge Gran Turismo fan so I loved this game. It's extremely fun, challenging, has a great selection of cars, and is very realistic. I've only played two other NFS's. Some people who loved driving around aimlessly looking for a race and running from the cops, didn't like this one. For those of you like me, who played Gran Turismo for years, will love this game. I highly recommend it!

Great game. Fun to play. I'm a fan of the GT5 series, but have long since wanted something with a little more aggressive nature to it. This one gives you both -sim with an arcade feel, and yes you can spin people out!. The sim isn't perfect (cars feel a little loose at first), but if you get a decent wheel and play with the settings and you'll soon love it.

Got this game because I needed a good professional racing game. Some people complain that this is not a true sim like Gran Turismo. Well sometimes I dont want that. I usually just want to pick up the controller and race without tuning a transmission and suspension for 3 hours first. It has a nice selection of cars. My 2 cars are in the game. I can tell you they got the BMW cockpit down to the last detail. Uncanny. I feel like Im in my car. Nice selection of tracks and great variety of race styles. I am finding it very fun to play. Also want to mention I really enjoy how accurate the cars sound. I would def recommend this game if you want to play a game that is like the old Gran Turismo games. Not too involved with the technical aspects of racing and more about the fun. I want to also point out that if you desire such detail the game allows for advanced tuning techniques and upgrades. Overall a very nice game. Small learning curve too. I use the controller and find it very easy to control the car. But I also have a lot of experience with racing games. I could see some people having trouble learning the controls. My advice is to use the default config. R1 accelerate L1 Brake / Reverse X Handbrake O Nitrous SQUARE View. Very simple layout.

    Speed? Yes. Need? No.

Like my Title says, this game has a great sense of Speed, to a point that it's the first game in a while that will have you saying to yourself "I think I better slow down". The Graphics are tops notch and shine on the PS3. However all Need for Speed Franchise fans need to look elsewhere. When did Need for Speed take place on a track? Or 20 tracks for that matter? NFS needs to stick with what made their franchise so popular and stop trying to out Simulate games with years of pedigree like Gran Tourismo. Need for Speed used to be about out running Cops with many variations, but this game doesn't have that. This is simply a wanna be racing simulator that rewards your Arcade driving style with points. It's been out for almost a year now, I would wait for a sale and not drop my hard earned $60 on this game.

    Cockpit View Racing

I buy most sim style PS3 racing games (Gran Turismo, Grid, Dirt etc.) This is not an arcade style racer however it is not too terribly difficult either and I use the Hard setting. This is the first NFS game that fits my liking. I race with a chair and wheel and love to use the cockpit view, the way the dashboard blurs at high speed and on impact. It gives you a little more "sense" of speed. Watching the instruments helps with shift intervals as do the nice audio effects. The graphics are beautiful no doubt. I also appreciate that the goal in each race is not simply to come in first. You must truly master corners, stay on the racing line and at times be more aggressive (to collect stars for spin outs etc.).

Need for Speed does not need bad ai cops it has gone back to the basics of real racing of when the series first came out. Thank god it has no horrible actors or storyline, you play for glory and for keeps it is a great authentic racing game. Stop whining about the cops, they were bad anyways, go win this game, and play online to show how good of a racer you are. Great cars and racing, loads of fun, like the first NFS games that came out!!!!!!!! I seriously doubt EA will go back to cops after this one, HA HA HAAA.

    Nice Try

The graphics are slightly above average. Cockpit views are cool but it's already been done better by GT Prologue. Starting a race with a Corvette or Viper only to find out you are going to lose as your car sits at the starting line and does nothing but rev sucks. Tuning a car never works. Suspension almost always has to be on the softest setting with any car or it bounces all over the track. On certain courses you'll find you need a speed limit on some straight aways as going to fast will cause the front end of the car to jump up off the track. When modifications are made in the tuning menu they are sometimes changed back to the previous settings with certain vehicles whether or not autosave is enabled. The game has it's bright moments but overall you'll struggle trying to keep your level of frustration down. A good idea for a racing game but I don't think enough R&D was put into the creating process. Nice try EA.

This game is a great step for the Need For Speed Series. It has variety when it comes to cars and tuning them. It kind of has the tuning characteristics of Gran Turismo. With the proper settings, when you take damage you can see and feel it when your driving your car. I personally love the game and I hope more people enjoy it. Hopefully I was of some help.

After seeing the preview I figured I would give this game a shot. The only good thing about this game is the graphics. I got this on sale for 30 bucks and I still feel it was not worth it. It's hard for me to get into this game, it seems boring to me. The control is terrible! Is this suppose to have an arcade feel or a simulation feel? EA tried to make it somewhere in between and it does not feel right. The awesome graphics are ruined by the awkward gameplay. I would rather replay GT4 or NFS Most Wanted, both are way better than this FAKE Gran Turismo. Don't waste your money on this one.

If this game is anything like Pro Street, it's sure to be AWESOME! All that "its not need for speed without the cops" stuff is over rated. If you want a game where you can get chased by the cops, I suggest buying Grand Theft Auto. Shift is all about track racing. How would you suggest racing on a track with cops? SHIFT IS GOING TO BE BOMB, HANDS DOWN!
