One of the standout features of the Nest Hub is its intuitive and responsive touchscreen display. With a crisp and vibrant 7-inch screen, the Nest Hub provides clear visuals for viewing photos, watching videos, browsing recipes, or controlling smart home devices. As a smart home controller, the Nest Hub allows me to easily manage compatible smart home devices using voice commands or the touchscreen interface. Whether adjusting smart lights or thermostats the Nest Hub offers seamless integration with popular smart home devices. The Nest Hub also functions as a personal assistant, providing helpful information and assistance throughout the day. My kid asking all his questions to Google and not disturbing me :)

This is a great interactive smart home decice. The speaker’s sound quality is pretty good and the interface is very user friendly. Setting up the device is also fairly quick. The only negative is that, while it is now easier to call others from the decice (compared to Google Home), its now has become harder to recieve calls. I havent used the sleep tracker but it seems like a plus that I’d be interested in trying out if I ever get another for my bedroom. The gemini assitant is as good as ever and my favorite ai to use in general, so great to have it in this device. I do recommend one or two of these in seperate rooms. This size is great for kitchecn, bedside tables, or livingroom side tables. Consider the bigger display if placing near larger objects or further away from you.

This Google Nest Hub is Google’s second generation hub to be an all-in-one device. It is pretty much similar to the first generation with one notable exception – sleep sensing. But we’ll dwell on that later. Setup of the Nest Hub was a breeze. All you need is to install the Google Home app to your device whether it be an Android device or an iOS device. Pretty much the Home app will guide you through everything. Once setup, it is pretty much a hub that can control your Google connected devices via voice commands. But in case you don’t have any Google connected devices, the hub can function as a voice controlled entertainment device as it can be integrated with streaming apps like YouTube, Netflix and Disney +. Likewise, music too can be controlled via the YouTube Music app. Of course, this can be your voice controlled assistant giving similar functionality found in your Andoid phone such as asking about the weather, date and time and what have you. Also, the screen also acts as a phot album wherein your photos stored in Google Photos can be made into a slideshow. And in case you’re not inclined to that, default screensavers are available. And lastly, the Nest Hub also has casting features should you want to integrate you apps not natively supported by the Nest Hub. Do note that while the speaker is an improvement over the previous generation Nest Hub, it will still not rock your house. Nonetheless, it performs quite decently. And besides, I have my dedicated BT speakers to do the rocking for me. The main difference really is the addition of the Soli motion sense technology which is also found in the Pixel 4. And though I have a Pixel 4, I am not really a fan of this technology since I find limited use for it. Basically, the Soli technology in the Nest Hub is limited to pausing and snoozing. But that said, Soli performs strongly in the addition of a sleep sensor in the Nest Hub. Rather than relying on cameras to detect your sleep patterns, the Nest Hub relies on motion sensing technology to monitor your sleep patterns. It is smart enough to distinguish if you are just rolling in bed or actually sleeping base on your movement. Also, the Nest Hub is smart enough to monitor your snoring and coughing at night. With that You can have a record of your sleep patterns which can enable you to improve your sleeping. And though this may be better than wearing a sleep tracker, privacy concerns may still be an issue even though the Nest Hub doesn’t have a camera. But in case you don’t want nor need sleep tracking you can always turn it off Nonetheless, it still does a decent job in sleep tracking. I guess this is a feature not meant for everyone. One disturbing thing about this new feature by Google though is that it may start charging for the service in the future. In one article, I’ve read that it may start in 2022. This is ironic for me since sleep tracking is a selling point for this device. For this, I am removing one star for a well functioning device. But for those still interested in the Nest Hub, this is something to note.

Awesome! Love the ease to use and it works with prior questions. Anyone can use this! Love the displays and how functional it is. Great for music and videos. Have in kitchen so can pull up recipes. Love having a timer I can see! So glad I purchased this item and it was a great deal!

This version of the google nest is a great home display that doesn't take much counter space. Great sound as well. The Google Assistant works well with voice commands.

I've used this in my bedroom for the past few months. It's connected to all of the smart devices in my house so it's easy to control the lights and temperature as I sleep or wale up. Also nice to play some background sounds as I do work in my room or try to sleep. Only problem I've had it that occasionally it has a problem registering what I said and not doing anything or taking forever to do something. Doesn't happen too often and can usually be overidden by repeating it. I do recommend buying when on sale since that's when I really think it is worth it. Without the sale I find it really depends on your usecase to find worth.

I have been using mostly amazon devices to control my home and ask questions. I also have the first version of the google 7inch home hub. I have found that google just works better. Every time I ask Alexa a question or turn on lights it does the task then keeps talking about random things. For example Alexa turn on the lights, okay lights turned on and did you know that XYZ is now on sale at amazon. This is frustrating as I don't need the extra BS just do the task and be done. With using Google it does the task and that's it. I don't get extra BS or sales tactics. With google I can also set my default music streaming service so it will play music from that streaming service that I already pay for. With Amazon I ask it to play music and it goes directly to amazon music, but if the song is not a free one it will set you up for their music unlimited service for a monthly fee. I have noticed this fee a few times on my bill and figured its time to get rid of amazon Alexa. I really like the size of the display and that I can watch hulu, youtube, youtube tv, etc. I have this in my kitchen to use those services or to ask it recipe questions. I really like having the display and having google show information when I ask questions. When the display is not in use you can have it display a clock or a photo slide show. Another nice setting for the google hub, you can select your music streaming service and which speaker should play the music. I have a JBL speaker with google built in, so when I ask this HUB to play music it will route the music to that speaker instead of the built in home hub speakers.

The Google Nest Hub 2nd Gen is a very helpful device. Setup is easy, and it is very compact, not using a lot of space on my nightstand. My only addition would have been the camera with the closable lens like some of their other gear. The sleep sensor works surprisingly well. Maybe too well, as I noticed that it tracked one night when my cat went to bed before I did. I would prefer that it had a more precise time legend, as then I might be able to track down exactly what time something is waking me up. I am also disappointed that they are talking about charging for the sleep sensing, as that was a major selling point for this model. The speakers are very good quality for the price-point, and being able to connect it with my Google home to control accessories and make broadcasts to the rest of the house makes life so much easier. All in all a great addition to my growing "Smart Home".

I bought this hub for my daughter, who is a travel nurse. She can use it to display a clock or to show a slide show of family pictures. She was able to set it up under our Google Home account so she has access to the same pictures we have on ours at home. It doesn't have a camera though. I had one of the original versions and I thought it had had a camera. Otherwise I may have bought her the more expensive Max version since the plan was for her to be able to use it for video chats. It is worth the price and since it can be a clock or show any picture, it can blend in as part of the decor. The rose gold color is a nice option.

This has a really sharp display and features that help with daily living. I especially like the sleep tracker feature.

I had an old Insignia works with Google alarm clock and the display finally gave out. I wanted to update my daily bedroom clock from just a display with Google assistant to a touchscreen. I found the Nest Hub 7" with Smart Display on sale at my local Best Buy. I played with the store display for a few minutes and decided that it would fit the bill. I got it home and over the next few days, I found out it was much more than just an alarm clock with Google assistant. I have it monitoring my sleep, which is awful, but it gives me insight on what I can do to make it better. I'm able to view my Google Camera in the garage from my bed should I hear a noise or just want to make sure the door is shut. I don't need to turn off the house alarm to check. I use it for the weather as I live at about 3300 ft above sea level, but have to travel over the Cajon Pass at 3700+ and then drop down to around 2000 on the other side. The weather at home, at the pass and what we call "down the hill" can differ quite a bit. It's also great to answer those stupid questions that pop in my head as I try to fall asleep. Lastly, I now ask it to play "Delta music" to help me fall asleep. So far, I've had good success with that and with my YouTube Premium subscription, the hub plays it without interruption via YouTube Music. I'm sure I'll figure out more uses as I add devices to my home. Next up is a smart thermostat. I was going to buy the Lux one, but I missed the sale. I'll catch it next time should it go really low again or I'll grab one of the refurbished Nest ones.

I will still give it a 5 star eventhough it has no camera. The reason i give 5 star is because of the price of it. It's really affordable and very convenient. The sound quality is excellent and the bass is awesome. It's perfect when you're listening to music such as pandora or spotify. It's very compact that you can put it on your side table. It's user friendly and you can link your other google device on this.

This was bought for my wife working at home. Her office is isolated so being connected to the rest of the house was important. She uses it to see who is at the front door and back door. It allows viewing of video for entertainment, podcasts for edutainment, and music. Coupled with other speakers in the house this fill the center of the home with full sound during music playback. For the price this is amazing what all it can do. I would give 5 stars but the lack of a camera for video chats is just lazy. Even if it was addable i would rate it perfect.
