Not bad... but I’m going back to Eero. I heard good things about speed, but I’m not seeing it. If you have the choice, get the Eero 6 or Eero Pros.

    Great Product, Horrible In-Home Consultation

I ordered just under $10,000 worth of product including almost every type of Google smart home equipment and a smart TV. Thomas, the so-called expert, was put in charge of setting up the delivery and installation of my purchases. He promised that he had things under control and I didn't need to worry about anything. After noticing that my smart TV installation was scheduled to be delivered to my new home before I closed on it, I tried to contact Thomas. He assured me, again, that things were under control. I also noticed that my Google Wi-Fi system was scheduled to be delivered and installed AFTER the delivery of my smart TV. How are you suppose to work a smart TV without Wi-Fi unless you want to run a cable, which I did NOT want? Long story but the bottom line is that Best Buy as a store is awesome and I love most of the staff there but Thomas is a complete fraud and should NOT be in charge of the In-Home consultation program. Once this nightmare experience is over, I will never again use Best Buy for any in home consultation as long as Thomas is with that program. I had to go to the store to pick up my Wi-Fi system because it was sitting in the warehouse waiting for Thomas to do something with it. The product is great but seeing as how it was suppose to be delivered and installed professionally, I give it a poor rating.

Easy setup but lacks in speeds. Satellite units must be placed close to hub defeating the purpose of a mesh system. Not great but stuck with it for now.

I really wanted to like this product and was super excited for it but it was just so buggy, our internet was dropping 5-10 times a day and you can only restart your router and modem and run through so many troubleshooting steps before you give up. We tested our Motorola modem by itself so our modem and isp are not the issue. We ended up returning this and getting an eero which so far doesn't have any problems.

This wireless mesh router was recommended to me by a friend. However, when I got into the details of the feature functionality I quickly realize that it did not have the new try band capabilities and the faster speeds that my Internet provider is capable of offering. The technology behind these Products are a few years behind and I did not want to invest hundreds of dollars and some thing that would not B future proof.

Hi there ElsaM, it's unfortunate to hear that Nest Wifi isn't working well for you and we apologize for any inconvenience you may be having with it. A single Nest Wifi Router can Nest Wifi router (standalone) can provide a Wi-Fi coverage area of up to 2,200 sq ft, while a Nest Wifi Router + one Nest Wifi Point can cover up to 3,800 sq ft..

Keep in mind that issues with your Wi-Fi coverage area may also be related to Wi-Fi signal strength, and may be affected by Wi-Fi interference like physical barriers which may cause the limited ranges and slower connection to the Internet. We recommend placing your printer within a line of sight of your Nest Wifi Router to get better signal reception. As a general rule, points work best when they’re about 2 to 3 rooms apart. As an example, if the far end of your house has weak Wi-Fi, don’t put a Wifi point in that exact spot. Instead, put it halfway in that direction. Try to place it in an elevated position, like on a shelf.

We'd like to help check further on the issue that you're experiencing. You're more than welcome to reach out to our support team here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp Nest

ROUTER FAILS REPEATEDLY, G SUPPORT SUCKS

It's been less than a year and this router + point have failed half a dozen times. Every time I call Google wifi support they try to blame my internet or modem and every time I have to hardwire into the modem to prove the internet is working fine. And, every time I have to factory reset the router + point. Until now, factory reset won't even fix it. After 90 minutes on the phone with Google, they can't get the router to connect and escalate the issue and promise to call back within 3 hours. It's been 5 hours and I have no internet and tomorrow is the start of the work week. To make it worse, they said if they have to replace the router + point, it will take up to 10* business days !!! What insane business policy is that? I'm so fed up with this thing and wish I never bought it.

I bought this system in early July. It worked for about 2 weeks and then started having issues. The network would constantly restart and drop all connections. At first it was once or twice a day but then it began happening more frequently. I followed every one of Google's troubleshooting tips, including multiple factory resets of the devices (which is a lot of fun when you have to reconnect all of your smart home devices every time). Each time I reset, it works for a period of time but inevitably falls back into the same issue. Google support has been absolutely no help despite lengthy community posts with many people having the same issue. Their response will be to follow troubleshooting steps that have already been completed. Everything tracks back to a firmware update that was pushed out. Supremely disappointed given all of the Google devices that I have already. I understand that issues happen, but the lack of support is underwhelming.

Oh no. We’re sorry for the frustration this issue has caused. We understand that setting up Wi-Fi points allows you to have the best possible Wi-Fi range and network speed.

Factors like thick walls, mirrors, windows and even signals from other wireless devices may cause interference that will shorten the distance Nest Wifi router can cover. You may need to shorten the distance between your Nest Wifi Router and Nest Wifi Points to get a better signal coverage.

We care about your experience with our products. If bringing them closer doesn't fix the issue, then we may need to have a look at it in order for us to isolate the problem and do our best to help. You can always contact us whenever you visit the Nest Wifi support page here: https://support.google.com/wifi/gethelp Nest

I bought this for our new house but devices keep dropping from the wifi on and off. Restarting the mesh system, giving static IP addresses to the most important devices did not help fix the issue. Did a Google search and found many others have faced the same issue. We ended up returning it.

Extremely unreliable with ineffective tech support

Unreliable is an understatement. I had the original Google WiFi system for well over a year with no problems. When I moved I expanded the system with the Nest nodes which worked great for about 8 months. Then started the dropouts. The network would go down within about 20 min of restarting. First WiFi would just stop working. Then each of the nodes would drop. Usually the wired connection to them main router would drop. Tech support has been worthless. First they blamed it on me identifying Priority Device (which I hadn’t selected in months), then said it was a DNS problem. Then a different DNS problem. Then said I should have never touched DNS. Every time I call in (over 10 times) they have to start from square 1. Finally it went to their engineering team over 3 weeks ago. Still no fix and no commitment to when I’ll hear anything. It’s impossible to work from home without a quality internet connection so I’ve been using an Apple AirPort router from 2012 that’s been rock solid (so much for DNS issues) while Google continues to investigate.
