We bought this product so we wouldn't have to lease equipment from our Internet provider. After hours of trying to get it to work with neither the provider nor the Geeks able to help, we just went with the providers equipment, which we got up and running in maybe 15 to 20 minutes. Maybe a real tech savvy person could do it.

if you need any kind of speed this machine will not give it to you. the worst part is the sales associate is the one who told us that it would work with higher speeds, either learn your product or walk away. i know have a useless modem that i spend $200 on. good job best buy employee.

Unable to rate because I was going to use it for my internet instead of renting a router but the tech said it wasn't compatible. BestBuy people should really learn their area before telling customers it will be compatible. I'm sure the product itself works great.

Unfortunately I was not able to use this product. I
would have had to pay a third party to use the product.

Good Modem

Has worked flawlessly for the last 6 months. The previous router-modem provided by Century Link worked well for 5 years but started requiring re-set (unplugging) every 2-3 days. No complaints and highly recommend this one.

Very stable modem/router

This router has been rock solid since I set it up. Very good wireless coverage, small form factor, and fast transfer rates make it an excellent choice.
One thing to watch out for is making sure that the settings it uses in initial setup are correct. When I was setting it up I found that the VPI/VCI settings for my DSL provider weren't correct by default, so I couldn't connect. I found out what they were supposed to be from DSL Reports and changed them. It's been working perfectly since then.

We got this modem/router to replace our year old Actiontec that gave us nothing but problems. We've been using this for a week now and love it. It handles all of our devices and offers a strong signal throughout the three levels of our house.

bought ac 1600 couple weeks ago. easy to hook, thought it would be easy to run ,not the case.I know I am not real computer savvy, but I know to get help when I need it.long story short NETGEAR service was of no help at all.spent afternoon on phone with internet provider, mac store, and NETGEAR service.Second time that afternoon with NETGEAR service was enough things where just getting worse, difficult to understand them, doing same thing over again.could not get modem to work.Retuned product,no problem with Best Buy they where very good.May be fine if you don't need to call NETGEAR for help.
