    Had an AC router before I purchased this one. When doing the WiFi setup for my 4k TV, my existing router was too slow. My new TV had 150 firmware updates out of the box. I had to replace my router with NETGEAR. If I hadn't my TV would still be updating. The NETGEAR router also let's me take full advantage of my high speed (50 megs) Internet download speed. 26 megs is needed to stream 4k video properly.
