good product easy instructions even for a non geek

This router is a great improvement to other routers and increased my speeds to over 200mbps when before I was lucky if I was getting about 54mbps and the coverage is great for my 2 story house covering both floors. My other router would bearly reach 1 whole floor with very spotty service upstairs.

The unit functions as a router and the WiFi connections have been as expected. The demerits are: 1) The wired side completely failed during a power failure (that is, all wired ports failed and didn't come back). So we got almost two trouble-free years out of this. But it feels like I bought it yesterday :( 2) This unit takes excessive time to come on line. Nothing brings you back down from a vacay like turning your router back on and having to wait MINUTES for the "internet to work". And actually if you have a complicated home no WiFi means "no harmony remote for TV" or something like that. We don't have the router in an ideal location so some locations within the house are as far as possible from the router, but one still gets signal. So we have no complaints on signal. I can't recommend a router that is poorly-constructed enough to have a major function fail in a power failure.

Great router, the genie app let's you control connection to individual devices. Dual band is perfect since I have kids with multiple devices. Ability to set up guest network(s) is perfect for visitors, you can set a security key for the guest network(s) as well. Would give 5 stars, but the updated genie app is a little harder to navigate and lost some function.

I plugged it in and turned it on it pretty much took care of it self for set up. Everything was connected and I haven't lost my connection since I installed it. I live in the woods and was always losing speed and connection every time the wind blew or it snowed. Not anymore.
