Bought this for my medium to large size house. Not a right product for that but it would work well for a smaller size house or apartment. Sometimes the signal would drop and was a little inconsistent.

So unit arrived to replace a 3 year old NETGEAR router I had (had 4 total over time and loved them all before this one) once I installed it I could not get on the internet but could see the router on devices. I ended up calling customer support and after working with a person I could not fully understand what she was saying we did a bunch of things but after a hard reset we got it working. I had both 2.4 and 5.0 but the next day I lost the 5.0 and all that works is the 2.4, so reset again and got the 5.0 going again. I will see if it does it again tomorrow if so it is going back to best buy, will buy another brand and never go back to NETGEAR I would think they would still put out a quality product but it looks they have forgotten the main thing in business build quality products customers pay a higher price for that and expect it.

Apparently Netgear is known for limiting it's data....I wish I had known this before purchasing. Living on the Eastern Shore of Va and working from home, this is not conducive for me.

Easy set up... and FAST speeds!

This router was very easy to set up and install. Included are virtually foolproof step-by-step instructions with simple to understand text and photos.
This router will not increase a slow internet speed. However it will allow a very fast internet connection over Wi-Fi if you 1) have a fast connection already and 2) have devices that work on the latest bandwidth (like AC). We had a 60+ Mbs/sec wired connection, but only a mid-20 Mbs/sec Wi-Fi connection with an old router. Installing this gave us the full 60+ Mbs/sec speeds over Wi-Fi too.
This router also has Quality of Service (QoS) settings, so that you can prioritize Wi-Fi bandwidth for things like gaming devices or internet phone calls.
Great product. Easy to set up, blazing speeds, great range. Highly recommended!

The router works fine. I have some questions regarding the setup. I contacted Netgear on the web and submitted my questions. I received an email that I will hear from them. Haven't heard a word and have been unable to reach them.

It is not as good as in the introduction. After replacing the centurylink router with it, there is still stuck when watching movies on the wireless network.

Other than the app features for wifi protection, monitoring and maintenance that I find to be useful, the unit is too expensive for the range it provides - which is not that much.

This is the second Netgear router we got and we are having the same issues as the first, except the first actually died on us and does not give out wireless signals anymore. This replacement keeps dropping the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz channel every other day with the only solution is to reset it. We have a few people working from home and they do not use a lot of bandwidth, so I do not know why this router just drops the connection. Looked at the Netgear forums for solutions, but it seems that this is a huge issue with this particular router and Netgear does not seem to want to help unless you buy their protection or service plan/fee.
Thankfully we got the Protection plan for this router and would be looking for an alternative. I used to trust Netgear, but with the experience we got with this router just isn't worth the hassle.

Works great and handles the bandwidth usage just fine but this is a second purchase, first one died in less than a year. Definitely buying the warranty this go around, may change recommendation choice if this one doesn't last.

I've used Netgeare routers, switches, and hubs for years. This one, however, was a dud. The EtherNet ports worked perfectly, but the radios (both bands) would bog WAY down, often to speeds reminiscent of the dialup days. Updating the firmware didn't do a thing, and the problem was random. ReadyShare was not at all consistent; it would not stay on line consistently. (Full disclosure: it doesn't work on another Netgear router I have,so it seems to be a problem in general, not unique to the AC1750 under review.) I recently just tossed this thing in the trash, dusted off an old R6300, and my network is running perfectly.

I got this to replace my linksys I purchased in 2007, and I would rather go back to that router. The signal is spotty, and it doesn’t provide a great connection, even when I’m sitting right next to it.

This was recommended over the more expensive 1900. I could not get this unit to work correctly. Upon returning it to BestBuy - it was stated there had been others who had similar issues when using with my internet providers modem (Spectrum). I was told to just exchange and buy the more expensive 1900. The 1900 works flawless. My only complaint is the 1900 was not on sale when I made the exchange - but it was when i was told to just buy the 1900. BestBuy would not honor the previous week's sale price - but in the end I am glad I stayed with a NETGEAR product.

I have had the router for a year now and it's ok. If I knew then what I know now I would have chosen a different router. My speeds are half of what I should be getting. It states wifi speeds up to 1700 Mbps but I have never had it reach over 500. I should be getting 1 Gbps. Apparently this is a common issue with this router has trying to solve the problem has just led me to thread after thread of people stating the firmware updates have slowed the router down.

I was having intermittent problems as well as slow internet connections with my previous router. I have nine devices that at one time or another connect to the internet. I live in a large 2500 sq ft home and have needs to access the internet from the first floor and basement. I currently utilize two range extenders to help extend the range of my old router. After reading several reviews, I thought that I would give this model a try. Set up was extremely easy and I was blown away by the dramatic improvement in connectivity and speed of this router. The signal of the router is so strong, I no longer need to utilize my range extenders. Ordering on line and picking up at the store was a breeze. Thank you Best Buy.

I purchased based on the good reviews-however this didn’t work at all and caused a huge pain.
First few weeks tv froze -then shut off.
Then this week internet dropped altogether several times an hour.
I returned and got and bought the better model. A nighthawk version. Works great -
Don’t put yourself the aggravation of this model. Pay a few bucks more and be spared.
