Please consider other routers before buying this

About a month ago this router stopped displaying the 5GHz band on all of my wifi capable devices. I live in a small apartment and have many wireless devices so 5GHz was my preferred frequency. Technical services require a subscription so don’t expect to get proper help after the complimentary service expires. I’ve already tried many different troubleshooting methods but no success. Therefore I give this 2 stars. Great while it lasted now it’s just a heap of trash.

This didn't work out of the box. We had to call Netgear, and then got it working. It stopped working again about a week later but we used the troubleshooting site to get it working again. Other than those it works great.

Got this to replace my old Net Gear. Was easy to set up but would not connect to the internet. I called Xfinity and spent 6 hours over 2 days to try to connect it and get my devices to connect. My son had to use an open wifi to do his cyber school. I downloaded the app and it said that it wasn't connected. I tried to take it back, but I got the run around. I cut my losses, threw it out and reconnected the old Net Gear, which constantly cuts off.

As in most netgear products the hardware is ver good but the software is terrible. It is difficult to use the hardware if you keep the software installed

The router works well once you get it up and going. Had to be on the phone with a netgear associate for 45 minutes before we could get the product updated and running.

I am not sure if it is a problem with the router or with its location. See my review of Geek Squad installation of same. Whatever the issue I am getting about the same performance as I got with my old $40 router.

Just not much range so I got spectrum to install their router and seems to do the job. I did have a Google mesh system and it worked well but died after 15 months.

i have been in contact with the company because the router has been rebooting itself like 3 times a day. until i finally got an exchange. So 4 days away from installing the exchange, and mind you i also got a new modem. The router is rebooting itself again. It is really annoying i want to get another brand and now it says i cant return it on best buy. So is like what do i do now? im working and going to school this routers aren't cheap. avoid purchasing this brand.

We live in "the dead zone" out in the country and were hoping this might help our less than stellar internet service. It did not help. That is not to say that this is probably an excellent product for the normal user.

I think it’s an ok router in terms of performance. I don’t like the antennas showing. I also don’t like that I have to get a modem also. I should have gotten an all on one router and modem.

The router has two bandwidths. The ISP maximum download speed advertised at 60 mbps, have not achieve this speed from the router on either bandwidth. Don't know if it's the ISP or the unit......

It’s average. Have had better with longer range outside. Hooked up Verizon Samsung extender for service and the port is solid red. Seems like I will just have to deal with it not at full capacity.

I didn't think I would need a monster router after my son the gamer moved out, so I downsized, and wish I hadn't. I will probably see if BB will take this router back, and then buy the monster router after all.

I feel too much fluctuations in the internet connection. Speed test shows too much variations. Like sometimes 50s mbps but sometimes 15-16 mbps. While Comcast connection always shows over 100 mbps
