I replaced my ATT 2-Wire DSL modem/router. The Netgear modem installed quickly once I gave it my ATT DSL login info. Was a snap to set up and seems to be faster than the old 2wire.

I loved my Actiontech units until they got old and could not update the firmware. So upgraded to the latest actiontech and had issues like wifi signal strength, internet cutting out. overheating and this was after i updated the firmware. Returned two of them. So i saw this one and granted it is a little pricey for me, I got this one and have had no issues since i got this past January. I like the options on this modem like dual band 4g and 5g. its got on/off switch USB port and other options that i can write about. Anyway, I would recommend this model to people who have ATT DSL service, cause for some reason the actiontech stop working for me and i have had ATT for 3 years now. I guess it is hit and miss now a days

    Good Wireless DSL Modem/Router

We purchased this product to replace the AT&T 2 Wire DSL modem that had died unexpectedly. This is the second 2 Wire modem that has died after two years of use and we decided it was time for a different product. I had originally identified a cheaper model to purchase, but my husband was talked into the more expensive product based on the number of devices we have/use in our home. I am overall very pleased with the product and I was very pleased with the Technical Support provided by the Netgear (gear heads) support team. Amazing job! I was less then thrilled with the inadequate instructions provided with the unit. They make it look and sound so much simpler in the little manual they provide you. Once I had the tech on the phone, it was at that point that it became very simple. But, he had me perform things that were never identified in the manual and modify parameters that were not identified either. Another disappointment was the lack of overview on what each one of the lights in the front mean exactly. While I can pretty much figure it out, I do not think it would hurt to have one additional page that had a picture of the front view and an overview. I do feel I have improved speed over the AT&T 2 Wire with this modem. So because of the improved speed and Netgears Tech Support team, I give this modem 4 stars.

Good router, with good range for a household. Initially, some of the setup menu did not work with my version of Internet Explorer, so I switched to Google Chrome and i worked fine. Aside from that easy to set up and works as advertised.

I got on Thanksgiving. It is very easy to setup and I can put password protection on my wireless (previous one was difficult to setup). This one makes my wireless connection blazingly fast. I am so happy to surf the net with it. With the given price, I 100% recommend it!

    Great when it works

I purchased my first Netgear router (this product) in March 2014. It was very easy to set up and was MUCH faster than the crummy 2wire router I had previously. In November 2014, this router stopped working. Solid red light showed for internet, which a quick manual search told me I had no internet connectivity. So, because this router has a 1-year warranty, I called Netgear. Netgear basically refused to help me: After 90 days you have to pay them for technical support by phone, and I was advised that support via chat or email was free. I asked them how I was supposed to chat or email them when it was their equipment that was preventing me from accessing the internet. Crickets. So when I got to work I emailed technical support. They responded very promptly, and I was asked to perform troubleshooting steps, which included logging on to www.routerlogin.com or www.routerlogin.net or http://192.168.1.1. I clicked on the link Netgear provided to reply, and received the following error message: Service Unavailable HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable So, I went back to their technical support page, opened another case (because they do not provide a way to respond to an existing case except through the link provided, which wasn't working), and again explained that, since I cannot access the internet using their router, I could not go to the websites they requested. I also requested a replacement per their 1-year warranty. I received the following in response: I do apologize for all the inconvenience that this issue might have caused you. I have narrowed down your issue to what seems to be a hardware problem on the DGND3700v2. You are entitled to warranty replacement of the unit. Unfortunately, there is no available stock as of now for replacement. You may provide us a follow up email after 3 days to check for the availability. We are looking forward to hearing from you again. Thank you for choosing NETGEAR. I couldn't believe it. First of all, I am extremely frustrated and a little mortified that a technology company would even ask me to go online when their equipment is what is preventing me from accessing the internet in the first place. Then to tell me that I am owed a replacement but that they don't have one is ridiculous. So, to explain my 1-star rating: I'm willing to accept that I just got a lemon and that this hardware problem isn't indicative of this model. When this router was working, it was great. But the way this situation has been handled by Netgear is absolutely absurd.

Took hours and hours to finally set this up which should have taken 10 minutes, Called Netgear who could not even get this installed and told me to return it. Exchanged it thinking perhaps it was defective and still could not connect it. MY DSL provider was kind enough to help me but it took hours, Was only able to use the 5ghz on phone and tablet but on computer modem would only recognize the 2.4 Also cannot even access the Netgear modem page on computer to make any changes to settings. Only way I can access the modem page is on my tablet. Very very strange. I needed the 5 ghz for my computer as the 2.4 modems from my provider were allowing all types of interference thru and I was not able to maintain a wifi signal which caused all my devices on my network to loose internet access. The strange thing is I can get the 5 ghz installed only for my phone and tablet while computer remains on the 2.4. Netgear tech support is useless.

This N600 is not a cable modem

Advertisement and description online at bestbuy website said "cable modem". This model N600 is a DSL modem, it does not have a coax connector for cable. The correct dual band WiFi N600 cable modem router is the model C3700. I ordered the DSL model and did store pickup. Luckily, they had C3700 in stock and we did exchange. The C3700 was about $10 more in cost.

    Immediate Wireless Boost!

The wireless in our house had become so bad I would turn the wireless off my iPhone and just use the LTE. Movies on the iPad or streaming to the tv was shotty. Some days it worked some days it didn't. After we installed the N600 it was serioulsy like gettting high speed internet for the first time. I can't even believe the difference. Now able to use all our devices with no problems and all are super fast. I would recommend this anyone who has multiple devices and/or is having slow wireless speeds. The only problem I had, was after I had it all set up, a few days later I had to unplug the router to add it to a new surge protector and after I did that I could not connect. I called Tech Support and I had to do the setup again. Not sure why that happened and if its a common thing.Could have just been a fluke?? Tech Support was friendly and helpful. However, luckily this happened right after I got it because you only get 90 days of tech support.

Failed to connect out of the box

I bought this DSL modem / router after research, looked to be capable of doing what I wanted. However I would note that CenturyLink will not provided technical support to this companies routers/ modems. Out of the box it would never connect to my DSL line. My older Actiontech Q1000 connected to the same DSL line without problems. Netgear tech support was unable to trouble shoot the problem. CenturyLink could find no line problems. So it goes back to store and I can't recommend it if you use CenturyLink DSL.

Had to call customer support more than five times Once I got it going I did it on my own, I don't have anymore Buffering and no dropped Internet It is great for Streaming. You my not have the same problems that I did, My DSL provider (Dishnet) said I could not use this Modem for their Provider I really don't think anybody at Dishnet knows who their Provider is Everybody Danced around that Question. Besides the set up its a great Modem Router for DSL

    Great Speed, Awful Range

I bought this item to replace my old DGN 2000 because the wifi just stop working. The old router had great range even in my two story house, but this one pretty much works only in the line of sight. I can barely get a signal in my bed room, the old router would pick up anywhere, even outside the house. The only upside is the speed has slightly increased. All and all I would say pass on this item.

I used to have a Motorola Gateway and OMG it was at the point of dropping my connections to wifi, the wifi range has decrease to only one floor, and no more than 4 devices can be playing videos or stream media at the same time. This Netgear had made my day. And it will continue to satisfy me in the future. I now have about 20+ devices connected to this Netgear and the connection still meets my requirements.

I give this router a (1) for install and a (4) for performance. My G54 had zero range in my house. I had to be no more than 10 - 15 feet from the router for wireless to work. This give me full range coverage in the house on all floors. If it wasn't for the install, I probably would have rated it a (4). Don't have it long enough for a (5) rating. I am not going to recommend this because if you are not computer savvy, besides getting frustrated on the install, you have to deal with tech support, which is in India - very difficult for them to understand you and vice-versa.
