Customers are saying

Customers consistently note the N300 Wireless-N Repeater and Range Extender's ease of setup and excellent range, praising its performance and affordability. However, some users experienced connection issues and inconsistent signal strength, impacting their overall satisfaction. The presence of Ethernet ports was also a frequently cited advantage.

I still am unable to properly program this booster up to extend the homes wifi range. I also don't have many places to choose from to have it positioned in the right area of the home.

It does a fine job, but be aware

The extender works well, it does exactly what it is intended to do. If you place it in a good spot, it will extend wifi access in your house. But be aware, this will create a "new" network. Meaning if the name of your network is "MyHome", when using the extender, you will now have a 2nd network called "MyHome_EXT". When selecting the wifi network on a device, you'll see both networks. Depending on your needs, it could be just fine. But if you have devices that are expected to be on the same wifi network - it may cause problems (something like Chromecast). Also minor inconvenience with the dual wifi, is that in many places in my home I can see both signals, but one is usually better. But, the way many devices work, the wifi selector has an order of preference, so if it sees your not-so-strong network 1st (as long as it thinks the signal is good enough) it will connect to it, when in fact you rather connect to the 2nd version. anyway, i do recommend it, just be aware of the 2nd network

After trying (and returning) two very expensive range extenders, I went the cheap route and bought this little gem - two of them, actually. My coverage problem was solved in less than five minutes. Unlike the more expensive devices, it does not extend the 5gHz band, only 2.4gHz, and does not have external antennae to allow you to fine tune the signal. Also unlike the more expensive models I tried, this device works perfectly. My router is on the middle floor of a three story home. I placed one of these upstairs, one downstairs. The coverage is excellent all around my property, and I spent half as much as I would have with either of the more expensive devices. They claim the N300 capacity of this will limit your bandwidth, but each Netgear extender can stream two Netflix users at once with no loss at all. It may be limited, but for most of us, it's more a theoretical limit than a practical one. One tip you might try. I ignored the instructions and set both extenders to the same SSID and password as my router. Now, as I move through the house and yard, my devices automatically switch to a stronger signal whenever they need to. I have both coverage and simplicity.

    Needed more WiFi

Great product. I have a 1.5 story house with plaster walls. My modem and router are on the first floor. The WiFi had a tough time getting upstairs. I couldn't get good enough WiFi to stream Netflix to my smart phone. Playing on my laptop was near impossible. I also did not have the option to move the modem upstairs. No DSL fiber was up there (tried it). This extender really fit the bill. I get great signal and haven't had any troubles with interference. WPS set up was easy. I took one star away cause it is $10 more in the store (didn't realize it until I went to write this review) and it only functions on the one frequency. I'm impatience and wanted something that day. If you can find it cheaper, great, otherwise it's a good device.

Setup was quick and easy, range is not the best but it definitely does the job. The only drawback for us is that only one device at a time can connect to it via WiFi. It does have multiple physical ports for gaming systems.

I purchased this after researching a number of them. The Netgear has been very effective for me. I have issues trying to penetrate a wall and this has given me reception in the far end of my house. It was easy to set up and manage. I would recommend it to anyone!

    Cut signal in half

I will be returning a pair of these this weekend. When using the extender, my wifi signal was half the speed of the wifi signal from the router, and all components were not only in line of sight, they were within 4 square feet of one another.

Took me 5 minutes to connect to my WiFi. I now get 4 bars where 1 was getting 1 with sporadic internet.
