Two faulty units in a row

I recently upgraded my internet to 1,000 mbps, which required a new router/modem. I purchased the Nighthawk Dual-Band AC3200 because it can handle that speed and I heard it had good extended range. The first unit I received from BestBuy had an antenna that wasn't lighting up, and I was receiving poor signal and slow speeds as a result. I exchanged it for another one (the exact some model). The second unit was only giving me 30-100 mbps (nowhere near 1,000, even when directly plugged in with an ethernet cable) and it booted me off the internet daily (3-8 times every day). NetGear said that the problem was probaly with my internet service provider (Cox). I figured they must be right (I mean, what are the odds that both units would be faulty?). But Cox assured me the problem wasn't on their end. Eventually I got a new modem from a different manufacturer and everything worked. NetGear must have some serious quality control issues or I must have terrible luck for this to happen twice.

Looks like something from the future… Plugged it in and the set up was very very easy. As I recall I called the cable company and gave them the MAC address and I was up in minutes!

This combo is so easy to setup and amazing on the way it powers the entire house for a strong signal. Make sure you put it in a central location to get the most out of this combo unit.

Easy setup. Once we connected with COMCAST, the unit downloaded the updated firmware, rebooted, and reconnected. Not 100% plug-and-play, but close. Wireless signal very strong.

    Indispensable lifesaver during remote work

This one really saved my life during COVID remote work. I was normally avoiding pricier items like this and conflicted between upgrading my service and my device; but eventually I have decided to give this a try. It incredibly boosted our multi-device Zoom sessions and I did not really have to upgrade my service, which means the device has been paying of for itself as I never had to upgrade from the basic internet package for $30 bucks. I waited for six months or so to decide on my views of this router and I can comfortably say now that I have not really had any complaint about connectivity.

Not sure about this router sometimes it runs great and other times it’ll drop the signal but when the signal is there it is very strong The lights on it are way too bright though they do give you the option of shutting them off but then you can’t tell what’s working it’s kind of odd that they don’t have a way to dim the lights

Possibly one of the best router/modems for the price. Works great with Comcast. I have 200mbps plan and my previous router only got me 150. This one gets me what I’m paying for.
