Had the Nighthawk r7000 was a good router but this is definitely an upgrade. The range is incredible and speed is even better on the 5ghz band. If you're in between the X4 and the r7000 I'd recommend the X4 as it's on sale and is the equivalent price as the less powerful r7000.

Out of the box this thing looks impressive, once it's hooked up it doesn't disappoint. Located in my basement I still have a strong signal on both frequencies in my attic ! I've used readyshare on my previous netgear router and it worked pretty well, this being my first router with USB 3.0 I was very pleased when my media drive was connected it took only a couple of minutes to scan the content for the DLNA server compared to nearly an hour on my previous model. The only trouble I've had with this unit may have been caused by my mounting location, I have random and intermittent connectivity problems on the 5ghz side in the room directly above where the router is located, any other room it works fine.

Easy set up and does well in our two story home with basement. Coverage was good all through the house with fast speeds. Setup was quick n easy no problems. Like the Genie software for easy access and control for the router. Would recommend this product!

I took the advice of the very helpful salesman, to not get the combined modem/router. glad I did. this unit was easy to set up. Performs way better than the 10$ per month Oceanic Time Warner rental. I plan on keeping this unit for a long time.

Super easy to install and great connectivity! I would say more but I don't know what to say. They are requiring me to haveat least 50 words to be able to get credit so I will continue to blather on until that requirement is met.

This is by far the best router I have ever owned. I have not had one single issue with it so far. I've owned it for around two months now. I replaced an Apple Airport Extreme for this one. The range and speed is phenomenal

I Have had a few different routers but Net Gear seems to be the most reliable I have owned so far. Had tried Linksys with disappointing wifi reliability. Only con is the price but you get what you pay for I guess.

My Time Warner modem with router was horrible, only could run one device at a time. With the Nighthawk X4 I can run my computer, Xbox One, PS4, PS3 and 3 smartphones at the same time with no delay. It's amazing.

Bought this for a long distance (250ft) router for a home office. It is able to reach from our office in our shed to our house with decent strength still.

Easy to install and link up with home network. This thing I'd HUGE, so find a clear and open space for it.

The best router I've purchased ever. Multi network setup. Very long range and best download and upload speeds with Charter. Absolutely recommend this. I already had my dad purchase one

Purchased based on the recommendation of the associate to actually meet the internet speed I was paying for. Old router achieved 22 to 25 mbps. Best Buy associate indicated if I was paying for more, I needed a better router. I purchased but before installing, I tested the internet speed with PC directly to plugged into the cable modem. Was about 90 mbps. I installed the new router and tested speed. I am now receiving about 90 mbps wireless via my laptop. My son is happy as he has noticed an improvement with his Xbox One.

Bought this because my computer moves slowly... sometimes I feel like I have dialup as opposed to the high end "lightning fast" internet they advertise and streaming is very choppy on my tv. Was told this would help and it has... a little. Now I am upgrading my computer as it may be the problem and was told it could also be the modem supplied by TW. So in the end, not sure this was what I hoped, but also not sure this was the source of the problem in the first place!! It was kind of pricey for the little difference it has made.

Pros: Upgraded from an old linksys dual band router with terrible range. The speeds on this are fantastic. 5.0 range is not as far as I would like, but the 2.4 is able to reach my printer from across the home. Cons: No DD-WRT support. QOS is automatic, i.e. you cannot customize which devices get priority. Interesting concept and I haven't had many issues with it, but I'd still like the freedom to be able to control QOS myself.

I've owned this for 1 month. Coverage and speed are good. Had to reset once because it locked up.

Was really impressed by how easy it was to set up. The only thing it has a big plugin that if you have loose outlets it will pull out of the wall. Overall performance is great.

Old router failed and did not cover the entire house. My son says this router provides coverage down the street! Liked the ease of setup, easy security, and great coverage.

We were looking for a new router because our WiFi connection kept dropping. This product was easy to set up and our WiFi signal has been strong and constant.

Needed to boost a virtually non-existent cable provider's Wi-Fi signal to stream video and other programs into a craft room located in my pole barn. The reps recommended a lower rated unit, but I chose this one which is two levels higher because the building where I want the signal has a metal roof and walls. This unit boosted the signal enough to program the DVD Wi-Fi, but wasn't sufficient to accomplish what I wanted. Video froze or constantly reloaded. Went with the highest rated model and it worked. This one would be great for other purposes, but not mine.

I purchased this router because I needed a better signal to handle all of my devices, multiple smart phones, several smart tv's, several laptops and not to mention game consoles This router is able to easily handle the workload of my smart tv's, laptops, and smart phones and devices. Has great range too. I am able to great a great wifi signal anywhere in the house.
