connected to cox cable, has great speed and great range also has more wired connections than most routers worked out of the box and no problems set up and connecting

Streaming is great. Smart Connect not so sure about it does not seem to be very easy to understand how to set up properly. The back up works well. Covers entire home well too.

This router is fast and easy to set up. I recommend to all gamers and people that do lots of multitasking with different devices

Although I've been very happy with my Nighthawk X6, I wanted to add MU-MIMO wireless support as I now have another device that can take advantage of it. The X6 is still working perfectly so I decided to keep that operational and position the new X8 on a different floor in order to provide even better coverage throughout my house than I had before. The two routers work well together (I set them to use different channels). Comparing the two however, the X8 is clearly the faster router. My MU-MIMO capable device connects to the X8 with more than twice the throughput of that when it connects to the X6. My non-MU-MIMO devices see about a 20% gain when connected to the X8. That's not to say the X6 is a slouch ... it still offers very impressive speeds, but the X8 is simply newer, faster technology. One other note ... I considered spending the extras $$$ for Netgear's X10 router. While it offers support for the new 802.11ad standard, it does so at the expense of dropping one of the two 5Ghz bands offered by the X6 and X8. Since I don't have any 802.11ad devices (nor is it likely I will anytime in the foreseeable future) I decided that it was better to get the X8, have the second 5Ghz band, and save some bucks in the process.

I am slowly but surely running things in my house on wifi. I needed a wireless router that would ensure I would be able to run everything without overloading the modem/router supplied to me by ATT Uverse. This unit has been working great and will allow me to add more wifi products.

This router is AMAZING!!! Totally worth the investment. I do a fair amount of streaming and gaming and this router handles it without breaking a sweat. Very user friendly.

My dead areas in my home are now all gone. The speed has picked up considerably. I would definately recommend this product

I got this after paying a rental fee through my local cable company for years. After getting this, I have not had any problems or dropped signals which happened a lot with their modem and router combo. I took the plunge and bought this and have been very happy about this purchase. There are a lot of features with the router. You can set up three different guest networks, one being 2.4ghz and two 5ghz. Same thing with the regular networks. There's also a parental control that you can set for each individual device connected. There's a lot to list on here but those were the main ones that made me glad go get this router.

This is still an upgrade from my current Netgear 1900, however beware Netgear has not yet released updated firmware for this 5300 yet, therefore it is unable to take full advantage of the mu-mimo wifi benefits as its noted on the box. Until then, it functions as a "normal" router.

We purchased the Netgear Nighthawk X8 AC5300 because with all of the wireless streaming we do as a family we needed the extra strength. It never fails even when my son is watching Netflix, my daughter is watching videos on her iPad, and my husband and I are both on our laptops.

Excellent router for Ethernet or wireless. Expanded my wireless reach to my entire home plus the outside front porch and back patio. It was easy to install and use.

Replaced a Apple Airport AC Extreme with this router. With all the new home automation and HD video cameras in and outside of my house, the Airport couldn't handle 48 wireless devices. When I replaced it with this netgear nighthawk, my new TWC speeds were faster and all my HD cameras were smooth! Two things I had issues with. At one time I lost all devices connected to the 2.4ghz channel. I changed the 2.4ghz channel to 1 and this resolved the issue. The other issue I have is I have to reboot the router at least once a month. With Apple I never had to reboot. But each have flaws. I'm happy with the netgear!

This is the best router that I have ever owned the setup was easy, as far range goes I walked across the street from my house and I was still able to to be on wifi.

I upgraded to this router on the recommendation of the BB sales associate. I was hesitant at first because if the cost. I had upgraded to 4K smart TV's and my old router was having difficulty providing Internet to all my devices at the same time throughout the house. This router allows us to use several devices at the same time anywhere in the house. I was also able to tuck it away inside my media closet and stil allow fast easy access anywhere in the house. Has been a very good purchase.

I purchased this router as recommended by my assistant at Best Buy. Super easy to set up and coverage is great. Love having the ability to set a guest password.

Well, it's expensive, but it has helped my network. Range has increased quite a bit. The three bands help with all the devices I have connected. Over all, I like it.

This is a tremendous improvement that allows a better reach throughout the house with better connections with the tri-band. It allows everyone to utile the net without someone lagging. This is a worthy investment and I'm continuously learning its various other features.

I have this router for a month now and it works great! Easy to setup and it covers my entire house, no more wifi extenders needed. I highly recommend this product!

This router is really a top notch... I bought this with my last cash but it was all worth the sacrifice because it equates the same speed of the network to all the devices in house... So awesome for my gaming
