I had many devices connected to my comcast wi fi and was very slow. picked this baby up and wow! EVERYTHING is so much faster wired or wi-fi . best router I ever owned no doubt.

The user interface on this thing is not good. It is overly bloated with features and navigating the set-up is ridiculous. I have avoided Netgear routers in the past due to the lack of good parental controls, but had heard they were better on the new routers. This is not entirely accurate, as the parental controls are still not good. I do get better range out of this router than I did my Linksys AC1900, but not enough to be worth the price paid. The 2.4Ghz channel is very unreliable with this router as well. Every device connected to this channel is constantly getting dropped from the network, even when trying a static IP I should have gone with the reviews I read on other sites as opposed to those on this site, as most sites report a much lower user review score.

1st unit the unit crashed due to firmware update, stayed in reboot mode . Second unit 2.4Ghz completely died after 1 month, hard reset did not fix. Return for refund and went back to my Apple Extreme N that actually works better wirelessly. I'm not a fan of this model

By far this is the best router on the market!! The range is great and REALLY helps with dead spots. I have used several other routers and none of them have the throughput of this router. Once connected I was getting 100 Mbps over WIRELESS!! Buy this router!

i am on my second unit same problems if not worse netgear has a major problem with this unit and will not admit it ,going back tomorrow and buying a asus , this junk keeps dropping the 2.4ghz band no matter what firmware you run it is so unstable ,I had a old linksys router 5 years old never dropped a connection but figured because I have so many things running I should update what a mistake .This router and its huge price is a joke .DO NOT BUY unless you want a router that will go down every couple days guaranteed .Biggest disappointment I have ever had .Netgear is going to loose lots of customers because of this junk!

All I can say is WOW. I replaced my X6 with the newer X8 and (oh! what a difference). This is the best router I have ever purchased. I have a lot of devices connected to my wifi network. All the devices work great.

Very short review, I had it since day one of release date, couple firmware updates since then overall high preference router and very stable, streams 4K videos in no time to my TV. Bottom line I love this router.

If you need a really good wireless router you can't go wrong with this one. It's a little pricey but very much worth the extra cost to get the amazing performance this router provides.

my video streams loading a lot faster and smoother! I originally wanted this for gaming as I play online vs others. But I love this overall makes things a lot faster!

Purchased this AC 5300 router yesterday. Setup was a breeze, and the user interface was clean and easy to understand. The router has been stable and no firmware update was necessary out of the box. I tested the range on both 2.4 and 5 settings and the range was strong throughout our house and it was even strong out in our front and back yard. As I had read poor reviews of this device I was a little hesitant plucking down $350 after price match and gift cards. But it is stable and I will hope it continues that way.

This one worked much better than the others. I can actually get signal throughout the apartment

Uploads are 1/3 of every router I have ever owned. .52 firmware to resolve this issue solved nothing. Others have experienced this same issue and released a firmware to try to resolve it. Don't buy until Netgear sorts it out....

We have 2 Smart phones, 2 laptops, a tablet, PS4, 2 Smart TVs and a huge surround sound system and we were experiencing long connect times, not being able to connect and signal drops constantly with old router. This one definitely did what it said it would do and we have had virtually no issues since.

It has improved the Wifi in our house - but it is on the pricey side and it's big.
