This is a really good movie from the 90’s. If y’all like drama and gangster movies this one will be great to see

New Jack City is an entertaining movie, but does not quite have the depth, in my opinion, of Boyz N The Hood or Menace II Society. It does do a fairly good job of showing the crack epidemic from the early 90's, and Wesley Snipes's natural charisma makes for a fantastic Nino Brown. New Jack City is energetic and well acted, definitely worth a watch to to get a glimpse of New York in that era.

I love Wesley Snipes,Ice T,Chris Rock, and many more actors in this movie.

New Jack City is one criminally underrated Gangster picture. It's very well made and directed by Mario Van Peebles with an outstanding cast. The hugely underrated Wesley Snipes gives an incredible powerhouse performance as the very intimidating, frighteningly evil drug kingpin (who should've been nominated) and Ice-T, Judd Nelson and Mario Van Peebles are excellent as the cops who are after him. Chris Rock gives a very good and different performance as a junkie as well. The cinematography is beautiful that looks stunning on this wonderful blu ray. It also has one of the best early 90s hip hop soundtracks in movie history. This is a must own especially for fans of the Gangster genre. It's a classic!

By the end of the film, we have a painful but true portrait of the impact of drugs on this segment of the black community: We see how they're sold, how they're used, how they destroy, what they do to people. Filmmakers pull off a provocative, pulsating update on gangster pics with this action-laden epic about the rise and fall of an inner city crack dealer. It's a superior example of what used to be called blaxploitation, with Van Peebles piling on corruption and carnage for all he's worth.

This is a classic old school gangster movie. If you have never seen New Jack City you must be from another planet and I believe they have seen this movie. Action Action Action!!!! I'm going to watch this tonight.

This is a older movie that I had previously seen, but my wife had not and I was delighted when I was able to purchase it from BestBuy at a good price so my wife and I can watch it anytime we want.

Old school classic with a lot of up and coming actors of this time. Lots of action with different stories going on at once, living on the streets and drug dealers running the town.

This is the urban version of the Scarface classic along with one of the most powerful movie soundtracks of the 90.s with an all star cast. Snipes breakout performance made him a star.

New jack city is an awesome gangs movie of the 90’s! One of the Wesley snipes best. I really enjoyed having this in my collection. A must have for a gang movie collectors.

I wanted to see this movie again for the longest time but could never find it. Had it on VHS, wore it out, Found it here and grabbed it. Great movie

New Jack City can definitely be considered a classic in the gangster genre from the 80s and early 90s together with such films as Carlito’s Way and even the Untouchables. Like those movies it is heavily stylized but when it really gets to the heart of depicting the dangers and allure of the drug trade and how it affects both the innocent and even destroys those who exploit the trade from the inside the movie really stands out. The subtext is also about urban decay and neglect and how the war on drugs, now 30 years later, still rages on. But New Jack City does not glorify being the head King pin of a drug empire even though some may argue that it does glamorize certain aspects of being wealthy and living on drug money. Ultimately for casual movie viewers though the movie is a dramatic thriller and has well staged action scenes and moves at a very quick pace so you won’t be bored and the movie does not attempt to preach either so you can take from it what you will in terms of the social aspects. The image really pops in high definition on the Blu-ray and the lossless soundtrack does pull you into the forbidden world of cops and gangsters from the late 80s early 90s New York which was one of the worst places in the world when the streets were under siege by the drug trade. Recommended for fans of the gangster movie genre.

If you want a real aspect of Harlem New York in the 90's then this is your movie. Get your popcorn ready. Filled with great actors

This is another movie I have just not in Blu Ray it's a great movie Wesley Snipes plays a movie when he plays it gives his all.

It's even better in HD. Love this moving growing up. Great story that depicts the NYC drug epidemic during the 80s.

This movie had all kinds of action but also had alot of violence based on criminal activity in New York City.
