This game came out when a lot of other bigger name games came out. so a lot of others never played it. But the gameplay is awesome. The story is a bit confusing. But seems to make a little more sense through each playthrough. There are I think about 23 endings. so this game can last a long time.

A very fun action adventure game. The plot is intriguing and the music is downright beautiful. However, I suggest purchasing the “Game of the YoRHa” Edition, instead. It’s available on the current generation of consoles (PS5, Series X, Nintendo Switch). Comes with a lot more bonus additions than this "Day One" edition.

Great story. Awesome graffics and controls. Lots of replay value, already on my 3rd playthrough. Def recommend this to anyone casual or hardcore gamers. Def must buy.

If you're a action/jrpg/hack and slash fan I gotta recommend this game. I was on the fence at first but the soundtrack and action sold me I have been playing this game off and on throughout the week and It's by far one of my new favorites. The soundtrack alone is a selling point.

This is a game that requires three playthrough to see everything. It switches from an action/adventure open world game to a beautiful 2D platformer to a shoot-em-up, sometimes in the same level. The lore is intriguing and you'll want to keep playing to discover more of the story

This game of course looks great, but it plays better than it looks. If you're into hack and slash 3d action - its a no brainer to play this game. But it also has an awesome shoot'em up twist in the combat, making it feel like an old school 1980s game of Raiden. The story line is good and there's a lot of replay ability to make up for the short game time (took me about 30 hours), but its meant to be played short and over and over as each game extends the endings and new missions and all the background storytelling. So the short game time is a blessing and the storytelling is smart to keep you going,

I bought this as a fast action adventure game to pop in when I'm bored. To my pleasant surprise, it's actually a very deep, highly replayable action RPG with a very open world. You can play the game over and over, making different choices and getting new endings (26 total; 5 main). The combat is fluid, deep and highly customizable. There are tons of weapons, upgrades and unique items to find, craft and use. The story is unique. Gameplay is always third person and ranges from open-world action adventure, side-scrolling action, top-down shmup, rear-view shmup, twin stick shmup, and more. The constant gameplay twists make the game very fun to play, which adds a sense of varied expectation that is a welcome addition. The graphics aren't anything to write home about, but the gameplay and variation make up for that easily. This game will be talked about by hardcore gamers for a very long time.

I've enjoyed RPGs for many years, but have not tried one by Square Enix before. It took a little getting used to, but once I (quickly) got the hang of it, it was a blast. The controls and action is very comfortable, but one thing that added to the the experience was the soundtrack; great music in this game. Overall a great addition to those who enjoy RPGs and look to try something different and expand their experience.

This game is amazing! Being a game that was under the radar for me I gave it a chance the first time it went on sale. Believe me it was well worth it, the first hour of the game contains a mix of so many different generes which makes it so unique and exciting! The story is great and the high pace action of the game keeps you locked on. The coolest part is the graphics and art of the game it's different but beautiful! If you've heard good things of this game definetly believe them and don't hesitate to give it a chance if you're a fan of the genre!

This game is stunning in every which way possible. The end of the first play through is just the beginning of a wild, yet beautiful tale of what it means to have emotion and thought. Coupled with fast paced, flashy, and addictive gameplay, the story and characters will have you hooked for many hours. Just an awesome game with memorable characters and many memorable moments. The soundtrack accompanies this game's dark, haunting beauty perfectly as it adapts to the situation and your location. There is so much to love in this game, just buy it now!

Every once in awhile a game comes along that completely floors you. This is one of those games. The game has utterly fantastic music and scenery that moves you. The combat is challenging while innovative and engaging. The world is open and interesting. The story is interesting and riveting. The graphics are beautiful. It's difficult to find anything that does not work well, and in comparison to some of the high profile titles that have been released around the same time as this title Nier: Automata completes annihilates all its competition.

First, a disclaimer. There are not 5 endings, and you don't have to beat the game 5 times. It does have 5 endings but they're more like chapter breaks. Leaving after the first ending is doing yourself a disservice. The gameplay is speedy and satisfying, the story is one of the most subversively challenging games I've ever played and the music and sound design is the best I've ever heard in any game ever. I even bought a friend a copy because of how good it is. I cannot recommend this game highly enough

This game is definitely a huge improvement over the first one. It has better graphics and better gameplay. However, the music is about the same which is actually a good thing considering the first game had an amazing soundtrack.

This is one of my best games in 2017. The actions is satisfying, as expected from Platinum. There are also open-world elements and you will have to do a lot of back-tracking in the later parts of the game. Story is amazing!

The game play is solid as expected from Platinum Games. It requires replaying to fully understand the story but fortunately each path is different enough that it doesn't really feel like doing the same thing over again.

From the highly regarded Platinum Games comes a combat heavy adventure set in a bleak future where androids, robots and other mysterious forces all battle and survive in an Earth that has been abandoned by humanity. Androids serve their human creators searching for a way to make the planet safe again. This game is combat-heavy, encourages the player to learn its systems, encourages exploration and pushes the player to take risks. The visuals are nice, but it's the action and music where the game really shines.

Nier Automata stayed true to Nier's core elements, but the clever move of letting Platinum Games handle its combat this time around attracted a lot more players and gained overwhelmingly positive reception. The game switches constantly between Sidescrolling Action (Metroidvania), 3D action (bayonetta), traditional shmup (Gradius, Raiden), twin stick shmup (Enter the gungeon) wrapped up in an open world action RPG format. Even with all that good stuff, its best selling points are perhaps still the story and music.

Gameplay and storyline are both great so far. I"m about halfway through the game and the action is varied enough to keep me interesting, with weapon and chip upgrades allowing a level of customization of my character.

I knew going into playing this game I would have a good combat system since Platnium Games worked on it but the story is what takes the prize. Do yourself a favor and play this game! The soundtrack is stellar too.

This game’s story is excellent, the gameplay is excellent and the visuals are excellent. P.S. Auto-save is a b****. So like the title says do not die. (Especially if your playing in the hardest difficulty)
