FTZ is essential for your F mount lenses

But they use the new Z mount which is larger than the F mount lenses Nikon has been making for many years. So in order to use your F mount lenses on the Nikon Z series cameras you need this FTZ adapter. The adapter works great with no loss of quality. Just remember that it will not autofocus older D lenses that used a screwdrive focusing system. Otherwise this product is essential.

Some lenses have some weird red fringing when using the Z but the alternative is purchasing a whole new kit of z-mount lenses which may not be feasible for all. Nikon and the other brands (Sigma, etc.) also don't have a full line of z mount lenses on the market yet.
