Our Oster blender died after six or seven years of use. We only paid $39 for it. This time, we decided to upgrade some, and we bought this Ninja blender for about $200. It doesn't blend our smoothies near as well as the cheaper blender. :-(

It might be overkill but I got this for smoothies and the individual cup does a great job. I haven't used the larger containers yet with all of the options but I'm certain it will do just as good.

I was looking for a blender that had more meal prep options than the Nutri Ninja with blender cups. This system is exactly what I was looking for. It is also quieter than the Nutri Ninja was. I would have given this system five stars, but it does not have a counter/timer to let you know how many seconds of blending time you have used.
