Ninja Oven Great All-Around

Ninja has released a new Prestige Smart XL Air Fryer & Countertop Oven + Pro Cook, and it doesn't disappoint. The box includes the oven, 2 stainless steel racks, 2 solid sheet pans, 1 roasting pan, 1 air fryer rack, meat thermometer with magnetic holder, and quick user guide/paperwork. The oven comes with a manufacturer's 1-year warranty.
PROS:
-----------
* This oven preheats in only 1.5 minutes, sometimes slightly less. Very quick to get up and running!
* The function/light indicators are very easy to read, and easy to operate in selecting the mode you want. I have posted close-up photos of each section for a better view.
* I have cooked a variety of items, and every single time, they are cooked thoroughly.
* You can cook on multiple levels at a time. Just follow the recommendations in the user manual on which levels to use when using multilevel or it's also shown on the handle of the oven itself (see pictured differences in single vs double-rack usage)
* The stainless look is most excellent, especially if you have other stainless appliances.
* The build is heavy-duty. It's solidly built and does not rattle or wobble when in use or while moving.
* The door has nice rubber gaskets around the inside of the glass which keeps it from hitting metal on metal and keeps the heat in.
* The push buttons are very responsive and easy to operate. They are also made of metal and do not feel cheaply made. This oven is made with quality materials, and you can feel it.
* For storage, you can put your probe thermometer on the magnetic holder and stick it on the side of the oven (see picture). Make absolutely sure that you remove it while cooking as the plastic on that holder will melt due to the heat generated while in operation.
* There are no annoying sirens or long tones when the oven is turned ON/OFF. There is a quick "bleep", but it's not annoying. It's the same bleep that occurs on my Ninja air fryer. It's quite soothing compared to how some of the other ovens audibly operate like I have used in the past.
* The black pans themselves are heavy duty and not flimsy. When they get hot, they don't warp while being heated like some you might see with some thinner pans.
* The light provides ample brightness to see how the food is progressing while cooking. The light can be turned ON/OFF with the "LIGHT" button. The light also automatically comes on when you open the oven and also when there is 1 minute left on your cooking time. The light fades in/out when turning ON/OFF. That's a nice touch.
* The "Pizza" setting works great. I don't know how it differs exactly from the "Bake" setting, but a frozen pizza I prepared was cooked perfectly inside and out in "Pizza" mode. In addition, cooking 2 pizzas at once did not pose a problem. They did not burn and still cooked very evenly on racks 1 and 3.
* This oven has a manual/preset "Smart Cook System" which I was unable to utilize (yet), but it looks very intuitive and easy to use based on the instructions. The probe plugs in on the underside of the handle where the controls are located.
* The rear of the oven does have a couple of spacer bumpers on the back to keep the hot metal from touching the wall behind it while in operation.
* The crumb/spill tray is easily removable and does offer a lowered section in the center which should help keep any spilled liquids from draining off when removing the tray.
* Because the controls are on the handle itself, Ninja is able to utilize the entire width of the unit for cooking. Some ovens have the controls on the left/right side or upper area which limits cooking space. This was a very good idea to maximize the cooking cubic feet (2.67 ft^3) for cooking bigger items if necessary.
CONS:
-----------
* The rear plug power wire angles straight down, so it can only be used in the LOWER outlet plug if you are using another appliance in that plug. If it was angled a bit to the left or right, then it could be used in the top plug. This is a useful feature when you have 2 appliances with BOTH having down-facing flat plugs. This allows for only 1 item to be plugged in at a time unless some kind of adapter is used.
* The fan is a little loud, but not horrible. I was hoping for a more quiet "regular bake" setting; however, it only bakes with the air circulation feature ON. I did use the bagel & toast settings, and found it was a bit quieter.
OTHER OBSERVATIONS:
-----------
* Be sure to follow the instructions for "out-of-the-box" initialization. This requires you to put all the oven contents inside then heat for a certain time. Just follow the instructions. This removes some of the manufacturing residue that may be on the baking parts.
* This oven does cook faster than most other little ovens due to most modes operating in convection mode. There is no regular "Bake" mode in which the air is not circulating.
* Some pieces are dishwasher safe; however, it is recommended that most parts are washed by hand.
CONCLUSION:
=====================
I have been able to use a handful of features so far including 2-rack mode for pizza, and 1-rack mode for bake, toast, bagels, air fry, and broil. Some items include fries, tater tots, mac-n-cheese, pizza, hamburger buns, regular bread, pop tarts, fish, and frozen meals. Most items were done or slightly over-done given the recommended times of those items to cook. Keep in mind that for some functions, Ninja recommends taking off some time and temperature depending on what you're cooking. Refer to the manual for specifics. All-in-all, this oven is very good and will keep us from having to turn on the "main" gas oven which typically takes 7-8 minutes to pre-heat. Items cooking in this Ninja taste just as good and provide quicker cook times. What a great addition to our kitchen. The pros outweigh the cons by far, and I would highly recommend.

This Ninja Air Fryer is an outstanding kitchen appliance that truly lives up to its name. With its wide range of functions including air fry, bake, broil, toast, pizza, bagel, roast, whole roast, dehydrate, and reheat this appliance makes meal prep incredibly easy. From crispy fries to perfectly roasted chicken, I’ve achieved consistently great results. We previously had a small air fryer and always wanted one that combines all the functionalities of a conventional oven.
Setup:
It’s plug-and-play, requiring no complex setup—just insert the appropriate trays depending on your cooking needs.
Performance:
The heat distribution is excellent, allowing for even cooking across multiple dishes. The air fry function delivers perfectly crispy textures, while the pizza mode creates crunchy crusts, and the bake function is ideal for cookies. The included temperature probe makes roasting meats simple, ensuring perfectly cooked results every time, especially for whole chicken.
Ease of Use:
The digital control panel is user-friendly and conveniently located on the handle, giving it a sleek look while saving space. Settings persist for each mode, so once you’ve found the perfect temperature and time for a receipe, you won’t have to reset them each time.
Design and Maintenance:
This oven features a sleek stainless steel finish and a compact design that fits neatly on the countertop. The non-stick surfaces and removable trays make it easy to clean—just pop them into the dishwasher. Regularly wiping down the interior is recommended to prevent buildup from frequent use.
Clean-Up:
With removable, dishwasher-safe parts like the crumb tray and air fry basket, cleaning is a breeze. Just make sure to clean the interior regularly to avoid grease and food buildup.
Pros:
XL capacity for larger meals.
Quick preheat and efficient cooking.
Pro cook thermometer eliminates guesswork for meats.
Easy to clean, with dishwasher-safe parts.
Cons:
The fan is a bit noisy and it’s expected.
Overall, the Ninja XL air fryer is a smart, efficient, and versatile kitchen tool. It’s perfect for anyone looking to streamline meal prep while still delivering high-quality, delicious dishes. A must-have for any home chef.

Almost replace my regular oven, Love it

Ever since I got on board with air frying and convection cooking, I've gone through a few regular air fryer's and "toaster ovens" that is multi-functional. I have both taking up precious space on my kitchen counter, I use it that much. Unboxing this Ninja oven, my initial thought was, holy smokes, this thing is huge and it is. It almost took up the whole depth of my counter top. But my second thought was, holy smokes, I'm going to be able to cook so many more different things with this LOL. I don't see me ever using my oven again haha. And I'm ok with that. If you're like me and buys a lot of frozen or prepared foods from the big wholesale box stores, the Ninja Prestige is perfect for heating those up. I hated heating up my huge oven for a small tray of whatever I was feeding the family, so I usually used my toaster oven. Problem with that has always been it can be a tight fit so I would have to adjust temp and cooking time. This Ninja gave me ample space and heated up quickly so I know I'm not using as much energy. Btw, the very first thing I cooked was a 12" pizza and it fit with ample room and cooked perfectly. I was very happy. Researching this oven, I found that what makes this oven so good is the design of the interior of the oven and the fan technology. You can set your food on different levels of the oven, press the coordinating buttons to let the oven know food is on that level and it will concentrate the heating elements to that. How awesome is that? Another feature that I'm really liking is the temperature gauge that comes with the unit. It has a holder that is magnetic which can be attached anywhere you want on the oven. You can insert the temp probe into anything your cooking and set an internal temp and the oven will shutoff when the temp is reached. Ninja made it so easy. The oven also comes with so many accessories as well. All different types of trays for different types of cooking. From air frying basket to a roasting pan and more. The only thing I'm not thrilled about is that all the controls is on the door handle. But I can understand because it's giving me more size without making the oven even larger. I just have to be more cautious with my dirty hands when opening the oven. I gladly trade my counter top space for the functionality of this oven.

Very large cooking space with powerful convection

Unlike most other toasters, it doesn't have the controls on the left side taking valuable space. Instead the controls are on the handle, which takes less space.
However be aware that is also very deep and also quite tall, so this might be something to consider with non-standard counter sizes.
A reason while this is very deep is that the very large convection fan on the rear of the unit takes considerable space.
The controls, that are on the handle are well though of. When turning it on, the handle illuminates with a list of all the cooking modes and a digital numeric display in the center.
Everyone in the family got how to use it right away the first day. To me that means it's intuitive. It also has lights with recommendations on which one of the four rack positions to use, it takes any confusion out of it.
Because it has four rack levels it can cook on two racks at the same time.
This model comes with two rack trays, two sheet pans, one roast tray (that goes on top of any of the two pans), and an air-frying tray that can also be used for dehydrating, and also a built-in thermometer.
The thermometer plugs into the bottom of the handle and comes with its own magnetic holder when storing away. We keep it on one side of the oven.
Ninja also offers additional accessories for this oven like additional trays and pan, an additional mesh dehydrating pan, ceramic pan, cutting board (customized to store on top of the oven) and molds.
Because it has a very powerful convection fan, it can also 'air fry', for which it recommends using non-stick oil spray.
The dehydrating mode works by combining heat with air circulation, which can dry some fruits or vegetables in about 6 hours.
While the glass can get very hot (it's not a double-glass), the handle here the controls are remains cool to the touch.
Overall it's a great machine that one can tell it was very well thought of. Comes with good amount of accessories and even some recipes to try out. Likely the largest convection fan in a unit of this type.
One caveat is that it can be hard to clean when air frying because it doesn't use a deep basket like other models, any splashes end up on the sides, door or fan, so we use it mostly as an oven and we keep a dedicated air fryer (Also from Ninja).

The Adult Easy Bake Oven!

The Ninja Prestige XL is an adult Easy Bake Oven. From whole meals to frozen pizza to desserts, it does it all. The oven comes with the oven itself, 2 stainless racks, 2 solid sheet pans, a roasting pan, air fryer rack, and a meat thermometer with magnetic holder. The included quick guide has some tasty recipes along with its user instructions.
Something to point out right away for people who don’t read the user manual: PUT THE ACCESSORIES IN THE OVEN AT 400* BEFORE YOU USE IT FOR THE FIRST TIME to bake off any manufacturing residue.
With that out of the way, the Ninja Prestige is easy to use with 10 different cook modes with one or two cooking rack functions plus a manual mode. The oven will preheat in about 90 seconds depending on the mode and will beep when ready to use. The oven will also suggest what level the rack should be placed on depending on what you are cooking. It is made of a heavy gauge stainless steel and feels very well built. The included accessories are very well made too, especially the air fry basket. Nothing is flimsy. I don’t feel like they cheapened out on the materials for the asking price.
My first dish was a whole chicken rubbed with a lemon finishing butter. I sat the oven to whole roast and selected chicken as my protein. With the thermometer plugged into the underside of the handle, I jabbed it into the chickens' breast, running parallel along the bone. I put it in and hit the start button and the oven started preheating. 90 seconds later it beeped and off it went. Another note on the magnetic thermometer holder; I have left the holder in place while using the oven and it barely heats up. It feels like it's a type of Delrin or other heat-resistant plastic, so I’m not worried about leaving it on the oven while in operation.
All other meats give you a “doneness” selection but with chicken it will only cook to well done. About an hour and a half later the oven beeped letting me know it had reached 165* internal temp and was ready to eat. My hand-held thermometer recorded about 173* after the chicken had sat out about 15 minutes which seems spot on since meat continues to cook after you remove it from the oven. It was nice and crispy golden all over except where the back was in contact with the roasting pan, with juicing tender meat all the way thru.
I have also air fried vegetables on the included tray. I have done asparagus, Brussels sprouts, and a few others. All but the asparagus turned out great. The cook time listed for the asparagus is for 2lbs. I only had a lb. on hand, and I believe I overcooked them and turned them more into jerky than air fried. The other vegetables were delicious.
For dessert were some fudge brownies with Butter Finger thrown in. I sat the oven to bake and followed the instructions on the box, setting the oven to 350* for 35 minutes. I put the brownie batter on rack 3 and hit start. 35 minutes later I stuck a toothpick into the middle, and it came out clean. The brownies were nice and crispy around the edges with a wonderful chewy center.
The following night we warmed up the chicken leftovers. I put them in on reheat for 20 minutes at 400*. It came out still juicy but a little dryer than I wanted but was still crispy and tasty. Next time I’ll reduce the cook time a little and see how it goes.
Last but not least I put a frozen pizza in. I don’t have a pizza sheet yet, but I wanted to see how it would do anyway. I put a sheet pan on a rack on the lowest position to catch any drippings as it cooked to keep the lower heating elements clean. I then put the pizza on the other rack on the 3rd rack position as recommended and cooked it at 375* for 15 minutes as recommended by the pizza box. Upon checking when the time was done the pizza was surprisingly well cooked! It was a little more done on the bottom than I’d like, most likely because I didn’t have an actual pizza rack. But it was still delicious and crunchy with the toppings being nicely cooked.
So far in my testing the only stand out gripes I have are that the buttons don’t illuminate, but instead have black writing or symbols on them. With as fine as the print is and being on a shiny stainless surface, the writing is hard to see at the best of times. Another gripe is echoed by many other reviewers. The wall plug is at a downward angle and pretty much prevents you from plugging it into anything but the bottom most receptacle if you want to have anything else plugged into the same outlet. Last issue for me is the oven does get very warm to the touch when in use. This isn’t a problem unless you have children that are tall enough to reach your counter or you have a cat that loves warm spaces. So be careful when using in such situations.
Unless I’m using an Instant Pot, I normally stay out of the kitchen and prefer a grill or smoker. However, after getting this wonderful adult Easy Bake Oven, I actually look forward to cooking in the oven!

The Ninja Prestige Air Fryer is a welcome addition to our kitchen that boasts several useful cooking modes making kitchen time not only quicker, but more fun as well. I have personally found that every single type of food I have cooked in this air fryer has come out perfectly. The results have consistently met my expectations, with each dish pulled from the appliance looking golden brown and delightfully crispy. All that said, let's dive into a detailed, yet breezy review of its features and efficiency.
The Ninja Prestige boasts 10 cooking modes, making it a versatile powerhouse in the kitchen.
Here's a breakdown of each mode:
Air Fry: My favorite setting! Achieve crispy, delicious results with little to no oil. Perfect for tofu fries, chicken wings, pizza bites, and more.
Whole Roast: Cook large cuts of meat evenly, like whole chickens or roasts, with a juicy interior and crispy exterior. I need to try this asap!
Air Roast: Similar to air frying but designed for larger items, ensuring even cooking and a crispy finish. I use this setting for sheet pan vegetables and it works perfectly.
Bake: Ideal for baking cakes and cookies, providing even heat distribution for perfectly baked goods.
Dehydrate: Remove moisture from fruits, vegetables, and meats to create healthy snacks like dried fruit or jerky.
Pizza: Bake pizzas to perfection with a crispy crust and evenly melted cheese.
Broil: Add a crispy top to casseroles, gratins, or melt cheese on top of dishes.
Toast: Get evenly toasted bread, bagels, or pastries with consistent results every time.
Bagel: Specifically designed to toast bagels perfectly, giving you that ideal crunch on the outside and softness on the inside.

The Ninja Prestige Smart XL Air Fryer and Countertop Oven is an impressive appliance for any size kitchen. It has so many functions and features that we have greatly reduced our reliance on our full-size oven. The large capacity, the four multiple rack levels, and the ten different cooking functions provide so much flexibility that I can't think of anything that we would not be able to cook for our household.
In the short time we have used this oven, we have used it for pizza, toast, bagels, meatloaf, appetizers, and reheating leftovers. The included Prestige Smart Thermometer provides internal temperature monitoring for meats to prevent undercooking. I'm looking forward to making some jerky with the dehydrate function.
The clear function display and the buttons make this oven very easy to use, which is rare for an appliance with many different cooking features. While the included manual clearly explains how to use the oven, I didn't need to reference it.
We use this oven in our house kitchen, but this would be the perfect appliance to add to a motorhome or a small kitchen. We are very happy with the Ninja Prestige Countertop Oven and highly recommend it. Once again, Ninja is proving to be a significant name for quality kitchen appliances and cooking utensils.

I'm not too competent when it comes to the kitchen so anything that'll help me cook food more easily/quicker, is a nice bonus for me. This thing checks off a lot of things (cooking wise) that you need but with a much smaller footprint.
I have a nice microwave as well as another air fryer but this thing is on another level. It's a microwave on steroids or a mini oven whichever way you look at it. It's capable of so many things that I haven't even begun to try them all out.
it'll cook/bake/air fry and even dehydrate food, all in one unit. Pretty much anything you need to cook, you can cook it in here and it's relatively small so it'll fit anywhere in your kitchen. If needed, it's sorta portable too so you could take it to your family gathering for cookouts and such.
I've only tried baking some pizzas/wings in mine but it worked great for that. This includes a couple different trays depending on the food you're cooking, so you won't need to worry about bringing the right pan/tray or anything. With my older air fryer, I liked to cook wings in there but since it was circular, only a few would fit in it at any given time. With the trays in this fryer, I can add more and spread them out evenly for that perfect cook. Pizzas came out quite nice as well.
The controls are all on the handle of the door which makes for easy adjustment to time/temp cooking as well as using any of the preset settings enabled for this oven. Clean up on this is fairly easy since the bottom liner is removable. The different trays are also easy to clean as well.
I'm REALLY interested in trying to cook a whole chicken so that's the next thing to-do with this oven. Overall, really impressed how well this thing cooks, how versatile it is and its relatively small size which makes it great for an apartment or smaller kitchen.

The Best Air Fryer & Countertop Oven!

This Ninja Prestige Smart XL Air Fryer & Countertop Oven with Pro Cook System has a prestige design and elegantly fits on my kitchen counter top that adds to the overall decor and doesn't look out of place.
Well, the overall performance is great and comes with built-in up to 10 times more convection power than the standard ovens. This is clearly noticeable in the items that we have prepared using this.
This has many features but the best one is the smart surround convection that completely surrounds the food to get an all round crisp item and more importantly without needing to rotate or flip the items in it which for me is great as it removes the risk of burning the hands while doing so. The Smart Surround Convection™ makes sure the food gets crispy all around by cooking it evenly.
With its impressive size, it has two levels available for cooking and each level evenly cooks the meal without needing any movement.
And to add to this feature, this has only 90-second quick preheat time which makes this ready to be used almost immediately and reduce the cooking time significantly.
With AI being integrated to each aspect of our live, this also has Pro Cook System that monitors the internal doneness of the food so now I never undercook or overcook my food.
Whenever I am not sure on the timing then it's built-in 10 cooking programs help me to pick an option for e.g. Air Fry, Whole Roast, Air Roast, Bake, Dehydrate, Pizza, Broil, Toast, Bagel, or Reheat.
For me, it's perfect for all of my kitchen needs and I made cheese sticks in the fryer and they came out very good, everyone in my family loved it . Overall a great all-in-one oven for my kitchen countertop and I am really looking forward to try other recipes using this.

I have had a convection toaster oven for the past five plus years, and I swear by it. I have told everyone I know to toss their old basket air fryers and embrace the toaster oven air fryer form factor. Switching to a new toaster oven air fryer was a daunting task because my old standby worked perfectly. But it was getting a little ragged, so I gave the new Ninja Smart XL a try.
The first thing I noticed was the shape. This is a more cubic countertop stove, as it is taller and narrower on the outside than most toaster ovens. It still fits nicely under a cabinet, and the space inside is actually bigger. The build is sturdy, especially the handle. Since all the controls are housed inside that handle, it’s a good thing it’s not flimsy. There are two racks, an air fry basket, a roasting tray, and two pans included. (The instructions advise to use that roasting pan whenever one of the convection functions is selected, so keep that handy to prevent spatters!)
The controls on the handle are completely intuitive. Match up your mode with your time and temp and press start. The 90 second preheat is accurate.
The automatic light is a nice touch. It comes on whenever the door is opened and one minute prior to the end of the timer.
Having two spacious shelves is a welcome addition to a countertop oven as well. I can make salmon and sides all in one space without heating up the big oven.
One huge con to this unit is the lack of ability to add convection to modes that don’t already use it. For example, I’d like to be able to add convection to the Reheat mode for things like baked chicken or fried pork chops because I like them crispy. This oven does not allow for that, so I use one of the other modes and have to adjust the temps/times. My oldie but goodie had me spoiled with on demand convection. Ninja should consider adding that feature because the convection is powerful and has different fan speeds depending on the mode as well. That is also NOT adjustable.
The other drawback is the noise level. This thing sounds like a jet engine in any convection mode, and the highest fan speed will drown out conversation or whatever you’re trying to watch on TV in an open floor plan. I did some reading and it seems this is a common complaint. It’s not enough to take away a recommendation, but be aware this is not a quiet appliance.
This oven cooks GREAT! Definitely replaces any basket fryer and the standard oven in many cases. But it takes some time and a few good trial runs to determine which mode/convection/fan speed pre-determined combination works best for what tasks. What Ninja deems best for “bake” may not be what you expect. If you are willing to putz a little, you’ll end up with an excellent convection toaster oven with a ton of room inside and yummy results.

This is my first non-blender small appliance from Ninja, but I’ve had great experiences with their other kitchenware, so I was excited to try this new countertop oven as ours had recently stopped working. This is by far the largest convection/toaster oven we’ve owned, with a chunky footprint of 17” wide, 13.25” tall, and 19” depth; it weighs over 30 lbs and the handle of the door when open clears the edge of the countertop. Included are two enameled sheet pans that measure 13.5”W x 11.5”L, a roasting rack insert that’ll fit either tray, mesh air fryer basket, 2 slide-in racks, crumb/drip tray, and temperature probe on a magnetic holster.
The exterior has a beautiful stainless steel finish with the controls and LED display innovatively built into the face of the handle. The interior capacity is 2.67 cubic feet and roomy enough for bakeware like my 12” pizza tray, 5 Qt Dutch oven, and vintage 8-piece cupcake tray. There are ten modes that you can cycle through using the function +/- keys: whole roast, air roast, air fry, pizza, bake, dehydrate, broil, toast, bagel, and reheat. When the oven door is opened, the interior light automatically turns on and turns off again when the door is closed.
Each mode has its own settings that persist in subsequent uses, so if I bake a batch of cookies at 350°F for 25 minutes, the next time I select that mode those will be the settings that appear. The different modes also have different time and temperature ranges they can be set to, for example, broil can be set to Hi or Lo for a maximum of 30 minutes while dehydrate can be set from 85-200°F up to 24 hours. The max temperature in roast, bake, pizza, reheat, and air fry modes is 450°F, and the timer can be set from 1 minute up to 4 hours. The display will change to slices (1-9) and shade (1-7) for toast and bagel modes.
The appliance is not internet connected, and there is no smartphone app component. The feature that makes this appliance “smart” is the integrated temperature probe with built-in presets for your preferred doneness of various proteins like beef, pork, chicken, and fish. Beef mode can also be used for cooking lamb. The doneness settings are based on temperature, for example, 120°F for rare beef/lamb, 120°F medium rare fish, 150°F medium well pork, and 165°F for well done chicken. The probe, which plugs into the underside of the handle, can be used for broil, bake, air fry, and either of the roast modes. If you prefer to manually set your target temperature, you can do that as well and choose from 100 to 200°F in 5° increments.
There are 4 labeled rack positions in the machine and each mode will indicate the optimal position on the display. Pressing the 2-level button will display 2 suggested rack positions for multi-level cooking. These recommendations are also printed in the full-color user guide that has a handful of tasty looking recipes. Two-level cooking is available in all modes except broil, toast, bagel, and reheat. When cooking with two levels, the upper rack is nearly always the air fry basket in order to promote airflow while the roast tray or sheet pan should be used on the lower rack to catch drippings. Using the roast tray can also help minimize smoking with greasy or oily foods and marinades.
I used the probe to roast a whole 5 lb chicken packed in a salt shell, and it took about 1.5 hours from start to finish. The chicken came out juicy and fall-off-the-bone tender, and when I used my instant read thermometer, I saw that it had faithfully reached its target temperature. I didn’t have to flip or rotate it either because there weren’t any hot zones or uneven cooking thanks to the powerful fan circulating the hot air around the food at all times. Pizza and roasted vegetables also came out great in their respective modes, and the air fry feature produced crispy, crunchy results with frozen fried foods like French fries and popcorn shrimp. I wouldn’t say that the device cooks significantly faster than normal, though perhaps I’ve simply become accustomed to cooking in convection ovens versus a traditional oven.
Preheating happens super quickly in about 90 seconds, so I usually place the food in the oven before pressing start, since the countdown starts right away after the unit is done preheating. Just be careful to put glass bakeware in after preheating as it may experience thermal shock with such a fast warm up time. Note that the fan is pretty loud and sounds like a plane taking off; you may also hear internal vibrations and rattling from the machine during use. If using the probe, you won't know how long you have left as there is no countdown timer, however, you can see the current and target temperature of the probe and once the probe reaches the target, the unit shuts off, beeps several times, and flashes “Cook End” on the display. If you don't take your food out promptly, it will beep again every several minutes until you do.
Overall, this countertop convection oven air fryer does a great job cooking a variety of foods efficiently and evenly. It has a lot of space inside and can fit large roasts, whole chickens, and two 12” pizzas at once. I love the integrated temperature probe with preset doneness selections that take the guesswork out of cooking meats. This feature mostly caters to folks that cook a lot of animal protein, but can be used for other foods via manual settings. All parts are easily removed for cleaning, though I find that keeping the interior clean requires wiping it down thoroughly after each use to prevent burned on build up. The controls and display on the handle are a clever space saver and though the text is tiny, the LED backlighting makes the settings easy to read, even in the dark.

The King of Countertop Cooking

This is the king of the jungle when it comes to countertop cooking devices. If your in the market for one of these you know that the Ninja name precedes itself with already being what you look at first and being a prior Ninja owner of all sorts, this one improves on absolutely everything possible!
Some stand out features you should know about are, this is LARGE inside and has two heating zones that you can fully control even without being a split compartment system and yes, it actually works really good. Ive cooked two different pizzas at once (one thick one thin and both came out perfect). Ive also done a trey of French fries up top and air fry basket of chicken tenders on the bottom for my kids and they both come out perfectly in less than half the time of my normal oven without any of that hassle or gas smell.
The controls are well laid out on the handle itself with clear markings and everything lights up without even looking like a screen when off. Setting the temp and time along with mode and everything is extremely easy and it even tells you what rack to cook on the screen itself for best results. If you dont know which one the included book goes over a ton of stuff to help you or they have a link to their YouTube which also goes over a lot of things.
It blends into your kitchen looks well, especially with the stainless steel. There is 10 cooking functions such as air fry, whole roast, air roast, bake, dehydrate, pizza, broil, toast, bagel and reheat. I have used over half of these already and can tell you they do what they're meant to do perfectly and even better than in models past.
Some of my favorite is left over pizza or dinner dishes you just set it to reheat and it goes for 10 mins and comes out perfectly and adds a texture and flavor to whatever it is that literally makes your microwave obsolete (think crisp and or evenly cooked instead of soggy hotspot mess you get with microwave). It even has a light inside thats bright enough to see everything in darkness.
What differentiates this unit having the pro cook from the lesser models is the fact that it has a built-in thermometer to monitor internal doneness of your food so you'll never under or overcook food again and keep it exactly how you want it. Personally I use this for chicken and steaks. Essentially you can set the temperature that you want the internal meat to achieve and it will cook exactly to that temperature and turn itself off which really makes things insanely easy.
Honestly as I said ive had ninja stuff for years now and I always come to love them. After you get through the learning curve of doing your favorite foods and how you like to cook them up this turns into the absolute staple of your kitchen quick. I use it everyday multiple times a day and it makes my oven feel like a dinosaur in comparison because you can just cook every item that needs heating so much better, even toast lol.

When this arrived, I was surprised at the weight. It is close to 35 pounds, and a bit awkward in the carton. Tipped it out, placed on counter, plugged in, and washed all the pans and racks. That's all there is to setup.
This air fryer / cooker / and counter oven has numerous features and cooking modes.
This can Air Fry, Whole Roast, Air Roast, Bake, Dehydrate, Pizza, Broil, Toast, Bagel, and Reheat. With the “Smart Surround Convection”, turning food over isn't necessary – it will brown on all sides. Using the included temperature sensor, you can use “Pro Cook System” to cook to the desired level of internal temperature, or how done you want the food.
Of course, regular baking, toasting, roasting, pizza, etc., are all easily accomplished. It has a 2.67 cu. ft. capacity to cook larger items, and comes with two wire racks, two sheet pans, roast tray, removable crumb tray, air fry basket, and the pro cook thermometer.
This has a high velocity fan to brown / crisp foods all around. You can also cook on two levels using the cooking guide that comes with the oven, which gives approximate parameters.
The controls are push buttons located in the handle, and the digital readout shows exactly what you are programming. Cook method, temperature, time, light, etc. Once the pre-heat is finished, the time counts down to 0 and finishes. Pre-heat is only about 90 seconds.
I really like this appliance, and can see the many uses it has. But, I do think there is a learning curve to achieve the best results. I did air fry chicken wings as per guide, and found that more time was needed to get them more crispy. Also, I found the oven did fill with some smoke. Then trying frozen french frys, again following guide, they were too over done. As said, the cooking guide is just that, a “guide”. I am sure with some practice, I will learn the best settings for perfectly cooked meals.
The construction is of stainless steel, and should be easy to keep clean. Even with air frying the chicken, there was very little splatter inside the oven. The door wiped clean, and the drip pans also cleaned easily. The fit and finish is excellent.
I am looking forward to continuing to use and learning all the cooking possibilities this appliance provides!

The Ninja Prestige Smart XL Air Fryer and Countertop Oven finally arrived & whoa is it a large heavy box,I was barely able to get it inside by myself. Once I was able to unbox this beast and get it in to the kitchen I was honestly a bit worried because this monster takes up a lot of real estate on counter. Thank gawd once I got it set it was able to slide under the cabinets and also not hang off the front edge of the countertop. While on this subject let me say that this thing does get hot, hot enough that you will not hold your finger on it more than one time unless your an idiot, trust me, soo make sure it has ample space on all sides to dissipate the heat. As far as the girth goes if you do not trust me then I have a few pics below with a ruler so you can get a feel for whether you have the space required.
While unboxing it seemed like I kept unwrapping things but this was good because Ninja provides you with all of the accessories that you will need to take full advantage of all of the cooking methods available. Once you have everything unwrapped and slid inside onto the shelves you are instructed to do a 20 min cook to sorta "sterilize" all of the pans and racks that were provided at I think 425* which was how I discovered how hot the outside of the unit will get soo be careful. The oven comes with two wire racks, air frying basket, two baking sheets, and a 2 piece roasting tray.
The Ninja Prestige Smart XL Air Fryer and Countertop Oven has a total of 10 possible functions that include baking, roasting, toasting, dehydrating, as well as air frying. I have used the oven several times in the past week but I have not been able to experiment with all of the possible functions. I have been able to use the roasting, air fryer & baking functions and all performed well. When selecting a function the oven will give you a preset to start off with however you can make adjustments as needed depending on your needs. I have done the basics like making toast & morning bagels & everything came out fine. Over the weekend I used the unit to air fry some snacks while watching a few games including some small wings and cheese sticks, the wings I had to cook longer than what the preset was because they were not to that crispy point like I wanted them to be, the cheese sticks came out great and were basically perfect. One evening I decided to roast a few lobster tails and in less than 5-6 mins they were perfectly done & exactly how I like them without drying the tails out.
Soo far I have been pleased with everything I can do with the oven and have enjoyed having it as a new tool in the kitchen however I have had to relegate other kitchen accessories back inside the cabinets to make room for the oven which I'm not the happiest about but whadaya gonna do.
