Nintendo has come through again. Known for their attention to price Nintendo has stripped out the 3D feature on their flagship 3DS handheld to deliver gaming on a budget. The 3D feature is something most gamer's turn off anyway. Pros: Value, simply put. This handheld covers most of your mobile gaming needs. Cons: The design of the 2DS does not allow for you close the lid like you do with other flip style Nintendo handhelds. I prefer to close the lid on handhelds as screen protection is very important. If you purchase this I would suggest a screen protector film like the one offered by Hori. The only other con is that this system lacks the processing power of the 3DSXL - you're mostly fine with this but some games (only a few) may chug a bit.

Reminds me of my original game boy which is awesome, 3ds is cool, but flip feature I can do without.

Great gift to give to small kids and it's easy for them to use.

My children really enjoy their new Nintendo DS. It has been wonderful for long trips.

Bought a few of these for my kids at Christmas. We love the new design after owning a 3DS system for years. If you’re an adult gamer this newer design is much easier to hold onto than the older systems. My kids enjoy them but seriously, set some limits and take your kids outside to play if possible or just wrestle and horse play. Video games are fun but kids enjoy you as a parent even more. Peace!

Works great for my son's 5th birthday. Can't beat the price compared to the 3Ds model.

Screen is too small, but I guess I should have dropped the extra few bucks on the XL.

My son loves his 3ds. Battery lasts a long time. Very satisfied.

I purchased this for my 6 year old for Christmas (Mario kart preinstalled) and he loves it and hasn't had a problem learning, using, or charging problems. Easy to use and travel friendly (with carrying case, not included.) Can play ds, 2ds, and 3ds games.

I purchased this nintendo 2ds for my 6 yr old son. I've owned a nintendo 3ds XL for a couple of years now and he was obsessed with it. He wanted a 2ds and although it does not have the option to display games in 3d, everything else is still the same. My only complaint is the size of the screen, but it isn't for me, it's for him and he loves it...so I'm happy.

Some prefer the clamshell design, but I like the way this feels in the hands better. I think the 3D is a bit gimmicky so I prefer playing the games in 2D anyway.

The 2ds is an insane amoutn of fun and really inexpensive.

I got this but ultimately ended up exchanging for the Nintendo 3DS XL Super Mario Bros. 2 Gold Edition Bundle due to a good sale price.

I bought this for my son and me and my husband play it all the time. It's also very durable and can take several drops. Easy to update and it's comfortable in your hand. Great selection of games. And I think it's great that you can use the 3DS games on the 2DS
