Following the launch of the Nintendo Switch I was feeling some Nintendo nostalgia, but not quite willing to spend $300 for the Switch. The 2DS is a good compromise. The system is able to play many staples from Nintendo's past (Zelda, Mario, Donkey Kong), while also offering some creative new titles. The system, in 2017, is not going to blow you away with specs or graphics. But if you manage your expectations, the 2DS is hard to beat at the $80 price point. Good, classic games available in a convenient, portable system at under $100 equals a 5-star rating from me.

My kids love their 2DS they received for Christmas. We have found other ways to use it. For example, with the wifi they can play against each other and it's perfect for long car rides. Just don't forget to make sure they are charged so there are no meltdowns.

This was the perfect Christmas gift for our 9 year old. It's durable, lightweight, and easy to use (even for the not so tech savvy parents). Our son has enjoyed every minute and would recommend for anyone.

I purchased this for my 6 year old son for Christmas and he loves it! It's very simple for him to use and I love the parental controls to keep him from going on the internet. It was a great price too!

Came with Mario cart as a download and others available. Have to read ALL instructions to register device and get to download. Check all the flyers included in package. Battery life has been good.

I bought 2 units, one blue and one red, for my sons (ages 4 & 7) as Christmas gifts, and what GREAT gifts they were. I got these online at BestBuy.com a few days BEFORE Thanksgiving for $99.99, which was an excellent price for the MarioKart 7 bundle. I kept an eye on the ads from Best Buy and all of the competition, and NOBODY beat this price from Black Friday through the pre-Christmas sales. A note to Parents: If you are getting this as a gift for Christmas, Birthdays, etc. in situations where the recipient may want to play with it immediately, open it up beforehand and do the initial set-up, updates, and free-download of the game so it's ready to go when they're ready to play. I highly recommend setting the Parental Controls, as these things have an Internet browser built-in. It took me a total of about 2 hours to get them up and running (about 20 minutes to go through and set-up the user name, parental controls, and all the other initial set-ups, about another 20 minutes or so to do a system update, and around an hour or so to download the game, which is saved in "block" form on the included SDHC card. The fact that I was setting up 2 units at the same time may have increased the download time somewhat --- who knows. Had I known that it would take that amount of time, I would have taken care of all of that beforehand. All that being said... these things are GREAT!!! There are a lot of bells and whistles that your kids will figure out before you will. My 4-year old, after only a day and a half, already figured out how to use the front and rear-facing cameras. I might just treat myself to one for my birthday in a few months. Some kids just never grow up. Thanks Best Buy for making this Christmas extra Merry.

I purchased this Nintendo for my active four-year old grandson who loves to use his parents' PC for games! I thought it would be great for father (my son) and his son to play together.

I got this toy for my kids for Christmas they cannot stay away from it I'm glad it came with a free game it's good that it plays 4 games were different systems they just are playing it so I don't know how they feel about it but they are kids and kids play games so I'm pretty sure they will like it

In a world of diminishing attention spans, a portable gaming platform that has the appeal to keep your child engaged and entertained for hours is notable. You'll need parental limits with this system, because kids love it.

Believe it or not, I love this console. The price is perfect. The quality is great. Is like a mini tablet I love it. Does the same thing as a 3D except the effects. But the games look so good I love it.

It's more a great device that plays all the kids favorite and latest games, plus it comes with a fun game.

I got this for my daughter for Christmas. She loves it. She really enjoys playing Mario Kart that came with it. I bought it since it came with the game. It was a great bundle.

This is a lot better then a 3ds. You don't have to worry that it will harm your child eyes or the hinges getting broke because it's all one piece. My daughter prefers this one better and it plays the 3DS games in 2DS.

This is a great system for our twins that are new to gaming systems, easy to use and fun! They are awesome for long road trips or just some down time on the weekends.

If you enjoy portable games and the nintendo family, I would advise to get the n2ds. Great battery life and allows you to surf the net and download game appls. If you love the nintendo why not just upgrade to the nds3. Better than the nds2 with better screen and better features.

It's very nice product for kids and teenagers. I bought it for a 5 year old kid and he enjoyed it a lot. It's easy to use but some adult supervision is needed to download when needed. Overall it's good product

This is one of my favorite game consoles ever. Backwards compatibility with DS games, and a more comfortable design than the 3DS and 3DS XL. I only wish this had the larger screen, and a better battery life.

We weren't comfortable with our youngest daughter using 3d, so this fits the bill perfectly. Plays new 3ds and original DS games wonderfully, and honestly has less moving parts to break :)
