These gift cards are some of the best stuff out there. Not only is Nintendo coming out with new & innovative games all the time, but there is an entire treasure trove of classics out there for download to relive your first gaming experiences. I love these gift cards because they allow me the opportunity to buy some of these classics while at the same time finding new indie games that I would otherwise not know about.

Best Way To Buy Digital

This is the best way to manage available funds for digital purchases, whether you use it as an allowance of sorts, don't feel comfortable with your credit card information in your child's video game console, or just want to keep a better budget for your own spending. Sure it's not as convenient as entering your credit/debit card info, but you will succumb to impulse purchases much less often as a result.

I am generally a fan of prepaid cards such as these for video game consoles. I personally prefer them to avoid having to attach a credit or debit card to console hardware, especially as a number of them have proven to be relatively insecure in the past (i.e. Sony's PlayStation Network security breach).
In this case, the $10 value works out in that it lets you top off smaller prices without having to get a larger commitment.

Wii-U and 3DS easily have some of the best games available to download of any console currently available on the market. With their exclusive titles, I would take either of them over an Xbox or PS4 any day (but I also own Sony and Microsoft systems so I'm not hating, just stating my preference). These cards allow you to download games on Nintendo systems without entering your credit card info. Awesome

I have 3 children all under 7. We do not ever buy actual games anymore. Everything we purchase through the eshop and download to our WiiU and our 2DS. No more worrying about where that game is or if it got put away. Also, no more switching game discs to play something new. Basically, it makes your WiiU or your DS experience like that of an iPod just with way better games than any iPod game I've ever seen!

These cards work just as you expect them to; once activated, they have a silver bar you scratch off to reveal a code. This code can be redeemed on the eshop for the credit denomination you paid for. You can either use that credit on the spot, or let it sit on the account until you need it. Good workaround for someone who does not want to pay with a credit/debit card directly on the game console itself.

For Nintendo's eShop on your 3DS or 3DS XL you would need to have funds available for purchasing downloads of games and other apps. These are usually optional, but some things come in handy. For example, the Pokémon can use these funds added to their 3DS system to buy the annual PokeBank app ($4.99 per year currently). Best Buy sometimes sells these cards/funds at 10% or even 20% off so watch for that!

This cute Nintendo ecard is perfect for getting those points to spend on the eshop on 3DS or WiiU. A separate application, Photos with Mario, is required to actually view the AR aspect of the card, so keep that in mind. If you love this amazing Nintendo character, why not get this card, it's the same price as a regular one! Also available in other characters, but why not choose the princess?!

discover card

For those of you who has discovered that it "pays to discover", the nintendo eshop only accepts master and visa. To add to your discover pool, you have to rely on these cards to top your balance since bb and other retailers accepts many more forms of payment. Other than the hassle of scratch off and entering the long code, one code at a time, your other concern should be where's my recycling bin.

I bought me this during a wonderful blackfriday sale for $8.50, that's like getting $1.50 on my nintendo account for free! I then got another for the normal price using a free gift card Best Buy sent me thanks to my loyalty. Each time I paid no sale tax, which other stores will charge, and I got free delivery! So when I need another one of these, I will be heading for Bestbuy.com again for sure!

It's pretty straight forward currency exchange. HOWEVER, I let my son scratch off for the code but he messed up and some numbers were rubbed off. Nintendo customer support was fantastic. They handled the situation as best as I could ever imagine and we were able to get our 20 dollars added to our account. Good job on them turning what could have been a bad situation for us for the better.

I can't believe that Best Buy will let me write a review on a pre-paid card, but I will do it for the 25 points on my rewards account.... This is a $10 Nintendo e-shop card. There's really not much to say. My experience buying this at Best Buy was great and the code worked fine when I entered it into my son's e-shop account. That's it. If this helps somebody, that's great. Have a great day!

I usually buy these when Best Buy gives me rewards money. That way when the expiration is coming close, I can quickly grab one of these without having to decide what to buy. The cards are good anytime, and they don't expire (as far as I know). It's like buying from the eShop for a discount. Double that up with eShop sales, and you can be buying games for dirt cheap. Everyone wins!

Quick top off using WiiU eShop

I just needed a few more dollars to get something off the eShop. A $10 card is good to buy Super NES and Gameboy Advance titles on the WiiU , and one of any NES title on both the WiiU and 3DS/2DS, with a little left over. On both WiiU and 3DS/2DS, it can also be enough to buy some of the lower priced indie titles. To me, it's easier to use on the WiiU than it is on the 3DS/2DS because there's a shortcut under "My Menu" on the left of the screen or simply press the + button to get to the add funds menu. On the 3DS/2DS when you enter the eShop, the add funds icon is hidden somewhere to the left on the top row. You have to scroll to reach it.
I recommend keeping your eyes open during the fall and holiday season as Best Buy starts to have sales on currency cards, from all the current systems. A great way to save on digital shop cards!

The $20 eShop card is a great because it adds funds to Nintendo's eShop which allows the redeemer to make digital purchases. At the time of this post the Wii U eShop has 700 downloadable games and with well over half the games being under $20, you would need quite a bundle of these cards to satisfy any Wii U gamer's needs. I highly recommend these for all Wii U owners!

This is great. I get to points twice over and download all the Nintendo DLC that I need... I'm saving this one to download Cloud for SSB on my Wii U and 3DS. I recommend this to anyone that doesn't want to go overboard with their DLC downloads. It's also great for any parent that isn't comfortable with the idea of inputting their card information into there kids' games...

I love those AR Gift card set. These come with an actual Goomba AR card that you can use with your 3ds. There is no way to get this unless you print it yourself. Plus it has $10. It's a great deal especially if Nintendo has these on sale which they did at the time. I believe it was 10% off so I paid $9 for a $10 Nintendo gift card + an AR card. Good deal in my books!

It's a gift card for Nintendo's eShop! You buy it with real money and it magically turns into video game money that you can spend on the fat plumber and his superior brother. You can also spend it on Zelda, the little boy clad in a green tunic who goes on adventures to save the princess. Last but not least, you can spend it on Metroid, but not Other M.

I purchased this card when Best Buy was knocking 10% off the price. $18 for a $20 Nintendo eShop credit? Very well, I accept, especially since Nintendo is notoriously stingy about putting things on sale. The card arrived promptly and in good condition from Best Buy. Adding it to my account and using it (in my case, for the Mario Kart 8 DLC) was very easy.

Because i purchased the wii u on the used market i did not want to input my cc information into the nintendo eshop because the first person who input their information on the wii u probably gets an email everytime i make a purchase of some kind. These worked great allowing the anonymity i was looking for in making a purchase on a used console.
