Customers are saying
Customers express satisfaction with Nioh's engaging gameplay, compelling story, and immersive setting in feudal Japan. Many praise the variety of weapons and intense action, although some find the game's difficulty challenging and the initial learning curve steep. A few players noted that level design could be improved, and some found the controls initially unusual. Overall, the positive feedback on gameplay and story outweighs concerns about difficulty and other minor issues.

amazing game!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Where to start?! well Nioh is kind of a complicated game. It takes serious skill to get through missions and even more skills to defeat bosses. The game is similar to Dark Souls. Gameplay is easy to adapt to. The only thing i kinda disliked is the fact that multiplayer can only be achieved by cups that our found after you defeat monsters. overall the game is addicting and fun. good luck!

Feudal Japan + Dark Souls = Amazing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Team Ninja is back. If you are a fan of Dark Souls or Bloodbourne this is the game for you. The difficulty is there except the combat is even more deep. You have three different combat stances that you can switch through fluidly in the middle of a fight. With each new level I find myself understanding the mechanics even better. Can't recommend this game enough. It's a must own.

Interesting twist on the Souls formula
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you've heard anything about this game you've heard the comparisons to Dark Souls. It's faster, closer to Bloodborne than the mainline titles, with separate "levels" compared to the open sprawling world of Souls. Lots of fun, interesting weapon styles with five different weapon types and three styles for each of those five types. Highly recommended if you're a fan of Souls games.

Ninja Gaiden had a baby with Dark Souls - Nioh
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a AAA game, much better than the souls series, souls tries to hard, Nioh tries to put your face into the dirt and keep it there.

Aggravating in the best way
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nioh is akin to Dark Souls in difficulty, creativity, and combat style. But that is about where the comparisons end. Nioh has a fantastic combat system, with skills for each weapon type (5 weapon types in total). Each weapons handle fairly differently from the others, giving interesting and unique play styles. There is also a Ninjutsu, and Onmyo. While Ninjutsu is fairly standard items to use (Kunai, Shurikens, poisons, and paralytics), Onmyo, which is basically Niohs version of Magic, has many different charms and effect from enchanting your weapons with certain elements (fire, water, earth, lightning, wind) to cursing enemies to be slower, weaker, or have less defense. As opposed to a large open world, the game is broken down in missions, each sector of Japan has multiple missions, main quest and side quests to take on. Weapons and armor are random, similar to a diablo style loot system. White (common), yellow (uncommon), blue (rare), purple (exotic), and green(divine) item will drop as you play. Each will have a variety of buffs on them, again randomly generated. NG+ mode triggers after you finish the final stage, but allows your current world with all stages beaten to be accessible. Loot grinding for better gear makes the game highly replayable. Add into all that a brutal (but fair) difficulty and over the top bosses for a fantastic game.

Fun Abuse
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm liking this game. Generally I wasn't a fan of the torture style of game play that this game has to offer, but after giving Bloodborne a second chance and falling in love with that (on my third play), I decided to give Nioh more than just a demo try. I like it. It is hard, but once you get into the grove of this style of game, it isn't as bad as you can first make it out to be. I have yet to finish it, but I'm working on this and two other games. Dark Souls Remastered, and Bloodborne.

New challenge for that Souls' player.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After being completely addicted to the entire Souls series, and yes Demon Souls as well. This game brought about a whole new set of challenges, and while yes each area was a separate mission instead of one giant land mass.. It still ramped up the AI difficulty, and the fighting styles just helped add to it.. Definitely a game worth playing if you like a good challenge.

Good game but extremely hard
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The game has a very steep learning curve. Some of the early bosses are much harder than they should be. If you like the Souls series games, you will like this game.
