Customers are saying
Customers have good things to say about the exploration, planets, open world, and universe size in No Man’s Sky, frequently citing the vastness and enjoyment of exploring the game's many planets and universe. However, many find the gameplay repetitive and lacking in content, with some also criticizing the game's story and value for the price. The sheer scale of the game's universe is a major draw for many players, but this is often offset by concerns about repetitive gameplay mechanics.

So much potenttial...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been waiting for this game to come out for years. I was blown away by the possibility of 5 quadrillion unique planets, each with its own atmosphere and wildlife. The game is beautiful and the scope of it is breathtaking. But that's where it stops being good. There's just nothing to do except mine for resources to keep you alive and fuel your ship so that you can go to the next planet and mine resources to keep you alive and fuel your ship so that you can go to the next planet... But the good news is that by the time you're reading this, I've already taken my copy back to Best Buy to sell it at a deep discount, and you can buy it cheap!

Worth it!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Many have bashed this game for what's missing (and was kind of promised) but what this game does bring to the table it not just good enough, it's downright awesome! I will grant this game is not for everyone. If you want a social game, this is not the game for you. If you want a shooter to a game with a lot of action and combat, skip this title. This game is a solo explorer and crafter (although the crafting bit isn't as robust and necessary) so if you played games and felt excited opening up the map...this one is perfect for that! There's no tutorial and not a major "campaign" to follow so free play and finding what you enjoy is up to you. I personally loved discovery, the sense of vast terrains to traverse and...holy smokes! That first take off into space was exhilarating!!! I still enjoy playing this game and am in the category of gamer that has no regrets about paying 3A title pricing for this game that is more of an Indy title. Hope this review helped you and if you take the leap into No Man's Sky, ENJOY!

Gets old quick
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After about 10+ hours of gameplay you will have seen pretty much everything the game has to offer. There is no story. You just explore planets that look fairly similar over and over again trying to get to the center of the universe.

Not for everyone
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.NMS is definitely not for everyone. It gets rather repetitive quickly and doesn't offer much in the way of action or story. Personally I really enjoy the freedom it offers and the difference from being an everyday FPS. I do find that I need to take breaks from it because of the singular line of play, but the completest in me keeps coming back to look for more.

Good game but it'll get boring
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a fun game with the exploration and space travel but it feels like it is all a huge fetch mission. After a few weeks playing it, I put the game down and really didn't pick it back up yet. It is worth to experience it but I am curious where the developers are going to go with this.

Has Potential
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is a really cool concept. The only big problem that I have with it is that the game is so massive (which is a good thing), but there is no substance to it. So I find it hard to continue playing it. I mean who needs 18 Quintillion planets when the are all virtually the same?

It's about the Journey
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There has been a lot of hate for this game. Yes, there are some content that was promised to use during the pre-sale period that isn't on the game. If you like a game with alot of graphics, and exploring... This is your game. The ending isn't what I wanted it to be, but I still loved the game. Just remember, it's about the Journey... Not the destination.

Fun for a bit, gets old fast
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When this game was announced I was extremely excited. Open world, "no loading screens", and space? What is not to like about that idea. This game has a lot going for it and seems like there are to many missed opportunities. To be fair, Hello Games has worked extremely hard on this product and they did do an amazing job. You can buy/find new ships, mine common/uncommon/rare items, and follow an odd/compelling campaign. This game, in my opinion, is not worth the full retail price. The "no loading screen is false", but they replace loading screens with immersive atmosphere breakers and flight transitions. This is much better than staring at a circle and it helps not to break immersion. As for the trillions of planets, they are great, they are fun to explore. In the end, the planets appear to be carbon copies of each other. Plutonium, iron, carbon, heridium, and zinc are some of the resources you will find on every planet. This makes it feel like each planet is the same and doesn't provide motivation to explore other planets. Animals are randomized but provide no benefit except the feeling of exploring something new. No Mans Sky is great for people looking to relax, immerse themselves in space, and try something different from the norm.

Know what you are getting here...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is not an action game...it is not a combat simulator...it is not a story based game. That being said, it is highly entertaining and somewhat addictive in a Minecraft sort of way, but less creative. This game is all about exploration. That's pretty much it. Sounds boring, but after the first night, I looked forward to playing it again. And again.

Gets old quick
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Who cares what's at the center of the universe when the gameplay just dries up. It's epic for how colossal the universe is but it's the same thing over and over, go to a new planet, discover new species, and repeat.

Hard to put the controller down
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My only hang up is you're lost as to how to begin. If you had a hint of how to go about the game since right off the bat you're low on life support or can't find what you need. Just a simple synopsis to get started. Once you start understanding it starts getting fun but you may be killed off a couple of times. A neat open world game though.

Explorers Delight. ADHD Blight.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Explore planets and mine resources. Find or buy new ships to upgrade storage spaces. That's about it really. The server creates new planets for you to explore and you get to find plants and animals and be the first one to name them for everyone to see!! It's fun for a few days and then it becomes repetitive. A time killer inbetween other games.

Not for everyone
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. But I loved my time with the game. No Man's Sky is hard to talk about because so many people overhyped the game for themselves and expected a game where they could do anything and, in actuality, you can only do some things. That said, I enjoyed the game that was there because it was relaxing and helped me deal with a very stressful time in my life. Anyway, what you get with No Man's Sky is a bunch of planets to explore and collect resources from, creatures that look like Dr. Frankenstein put 'em together while high on something, and aliens who speak to you in languages you can't understand until you take the time to find objects in the environment that will teach you their language, one word at a time--my favorite part. So, if you want a relaxing game that doesn't get in your way and allows you to explore a bunch of different planets that are all different--though, not as different as some may want--No Man's Sky is definitely worth checking out.

Lots to manage
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I may be in the minority but I dig th zen like experience of this game. It can get frustrating with the small inventory and no pointers on what to do, but the exploration and finding unique things makes up for it. Not sure if it will be a mainstay in the collection or not.

Could be so much more.....
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really, really enjoy this game but I see why others do not. I see hints of greatness here and there but too many things drag it down. I put about 20 hours in and felt I had seen everything to be seen. Hopefully they continue to support it and add more DLC to liven it up.

Good, but not what people thought
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. All the promoting and online videos brought up the hype on this game, to the point of people exclaiming what features they thought would be there, versus what was actually confirmed. Pretty much everyone was let down when they came to find out it was simply a resource management/exploration game with very little combat and no multiplayer.

A staggeringly large game for explorers
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. No Man's Sky is a much-hyped game that lives up to at least some of it. There are a huge number of planets to explore, each with unique flora and fauna. You can even name your discoveries and upload them to the rest of the world if you wish. I enjoyed many aspects of the game but it did become somewhat repetitive as playtime wore on.

Better than the reviews
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the most part, this game is pretty much exactly what people expected. Unfortunately for some, they didn't know WHAT to expect, hence some of the negative reviews. But if you enjoy chill games where exploration is strongly encouraged, this game is definitely worth a shot. Personally I've sunk around 50 hours or so into this game.
