Customers are saying

Customers have good things to say about the exploration, planets, open world, and universe size in No Man’s Sky, frequently citing the vastness and enjoyment of exploring the game's many planets and universe. However, many find the gameplay repetitive and lacking in content, with some also criticizing the game's story and value for the price. The sheer scale of the game's universe is a major draw for many players, but this is often offset by concerns about repetitive gameplay mechanics.

This is neither the worst game of all time, nor the best game ever made, but if you enjoy wandering aimlessly and exploring every nook and cranny of a game then you might enjoy this one.

No mans sky is a good game with interesting locales and life forms. Each planet changes a little or dramatically with its plant life, species and looks. The only downside is its repetitiveness. Overall a good game that you can play for hours.

This game was marketed as an amazing, open-world exploration sim of space...but in the end turned out to be a tedious, repetitive trip through the void of space that never pays off.

If you're into constant battles this is probably not the game for you. This is a great game to just fly around, explore, and every now and then shoot down a ship, alien animal, or sentinel.

I didn't feed into the hype and expect just an exploration game, which is what I got. It's not filled with action or adventure - it's for those that like to explore and gather. However, even that gets old since the "computer generated" processes reuse the same animal and alien images pretty much on every other planet. And then when you get to the center for the big surprise - REALLY! That was it. I am really hope the patches add more content so I don't feel like the money was completely wasted and it wasn't just a week of enjoyment.

Game is really cool to start but the story is lackluster and the exploration can get very boring after a while. It's a good game to switch it up from the norm but not worth $60 for me

It really was an unique and fun game to play for the first 30 hours, but once you discover the wizard behind the curtains, the game loses its magic and becomes really really boring.

Strike 1: There is no story. Strike 2: There is no point on finishing the game. When you thought you finished the game..well google it, its anti-climactic. Strike 3: You can't see other players even if you are on the same planet and the same spot. Strikeout.. too many lies (features that were never in the final product) by the developer make this one of the most over-hyped and under delivered game of this generation..maybe ever.

Absolutely loving this game. I can now jump online with friends, harvest, fight, and build all with my buddies. It's taken this exploration game to a whole new level.

I had gotten this game only with the intention of exploring some of the planets and creatures that exist as another way to relax and waste some time; it gave me exactly that and I could do it over and over again while seeing new things.

I heard about this game years ago but didn't really follow it. When it hit shelves I was a little reluctant because I'm normally not a big fan of sandbox-style games. Much to my surprise I have actually been thoroughly enjoying this game. In terms of a space exploration game, not much else exists for PS4, and while this is certainly not a perfect game it has several highlights. The graphics are gorgeous, exploring the galaxy and warping between systems is exhilarating, and the survival aspects of the game are not overly burdensome. Playing doesn't feel like a chore, but definitely not a game for everyone. If you like having a structured story to follow of getting from point A to point B, this is probably not a game for you. I'd recommend at least watching a stream or some videos to get a feel for the game.

The technology to transform the environment around you so that there are not loading screens is amazing. The only concern is that the game becomes repetative after a while if you need more money. Creating bypass chips or hanging out in a space station waiting for ships to dock so you can trade with them. All in all I would say that there is about a weeks worth of fun before the game becomes repetative and you will be grabbing for another title. I still play this game though and it is a time vampire, keeping me up late just to rack up that 35 million units so I can purchase a larger ship to mine more minerals to make more money to buy an even bigger ship.

Game was fun to play, but it didn't live up to the developer's own promises and expectations. If priced lower and had less expectations, I would definitely suggest it to a friend.

This game is not for everyone. But after playing well over 60 hours of this game and traveling over 30 solar systems. I love this game, and I still have things that I want to do. Get a better ship and Upgrade it, find more creatures, learn more atlas words, and reach the center of the Galaxy. There are plenty of flaws and plenty of things that were meant to be in the game, but the immense universe still boggles my mind, and the traveling system still amazes me every time i leave one planet for another. Great game and this only means greater things for space games in the future. I'll be watching for any updates they plan to do in the future.

all you do in this game is mine minerals and fly between planets where you will discover different atmospheres, plants, animals, etc. It does get very very repetitive.

Despite the issues surrounding the game, it isn't bad. But given it's a pure exploration title, it's appeal is only limited to those that are really into those type of games.

Game was clearly unfinished at launch. Buggy and missing features that were mentioned in developer interviews but failed to materialize in the final product. The procedurally generated universe is amazing and so is the transitioning from planet surface to space, but the experience is marred by the tedious material collection and horrendous enemy AI both on land and sky. With patching and more development time maybe Hello Games can finish this tech demo into something that is worth playing more than 8 hours.
