Customers are saying
Customers have good things to say about the exploration, planets, open world, and universe size in No Man’s Sky, frequently citing the vastness and enjoyment of exploring the game's many planets and universe. However, many find the gameplay repetitive and lacking in content, with some also criticizing the game's story and value for the price. The sheer scale of the game's universe is a major draw for many players, but this is often offset by concerns about repetitive gameplay mechanics.

The perfect chill out game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Despite all the, honestly, misplaced and misinformed negativity surrounding this game... it turned out to be exactly what I hoped for and expected and more. I think a $40 price tag would have been more appropriate for the average consumer, but I got $60 worth of entertainment from this game before even leaving my first planet. This game is about exploration and discovery. It's great for spending a few hours now and then, using Spotify on the PS4 and just zoning out.

Definitely Divisive
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While I have put in a good number of hours, and enjoyed myself for the most part, I can see where a lot of the hate on No Man's Sky is coming from. It is a bit of a shallow experience. While a lot of other open-world/sandbox games provide a greater variety of things to do in their fleshed out worlds, this one is definitely different. Similar to Minecraft, some may find this to be that refreshing experience that has been missing from the bulk of AAA titles today.

Ok
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. No man sky is a open world game. It needs more content. Very repetitive.

Rough start, slowly improving
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. No Man's Sky had a lot of hype leading up to its release that it just couldn't live up to. Features that weren't as good as promised or left out entirely, but the devs are working on making it better at their own pace. As of the time of this review it is much more enjoyable and rewarding than it had been at launch, but there is still room for improvement.

Good game if you like games like Mine Craft
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The game left me quite disappointed because it was hyped up a lot. I thought that the game was going to offer more to do, but unfortunately it didn't. If their was a lot more things to do from the get go it would be a better game. But until the developer starts putting up new game updates it's going to be a hate or love it type of game with little in between.

Son loves the game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. He enjoys the scavenging and exploring of planets. He had to show me how infinite the game universe is.

Really was expecting better.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Been playing it for a bit now and while I've followed it over the years it looked really good. Sadly it seems like a bunch of features or promises was ripped out just before release. If they can hold true and add more features in I think it could be a decent game but right now its borderline unless your into flying around and exploring similar places.

Great for the First 8-10 hours
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was all aboard the Hype Train for No Man's Sky since the 2014 E3 trailer. I really loved this game for the first couple of planets I visited, but each planet made it more boring, because it was more of the same. They're putting out a ton of patches, so I do look forward to eventually going back to this game, but for now, I'm putting it on the shelf.

Enjoyed it for what it was
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had a fun time with the game feel it gets too criticized is missing some features that would make for a better experience like online co op But still had fun just exploring all the different planets and seeing all the different types of life forms, also love flying the ships and being able to just fly into and out of space when ever i felt the need

Novel but lacking
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Enjoyable experience at first but instead of developing into something great it never really takes off. What you experience at the beginning isn't fundamentally different than what you see a number of hours in. The ideas that were shown and promised are enticing but not exactly what was delivered. What's there is fun, at least to me. The reason it loses a star, however, is because of what it was capable of being but never achieves.

Not what I was hoping for.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My son had wanted this game for quite some time. I decided to purchase it after his grades had posted. He was so excited to play. He set it up and got everything installed and played for about 30-60 minutes and hasn't touched it since. I think after playing the new Zelda game, he has realized that No Man's Sky is just missing something.

Great relaxing exploration game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game has gotten a bad rap for not meeting expectations. Granted it didn't live up to the hype that led up to release, but it is still a very interesting game that pushes the boundaries of the growing group of procedural generated game worlds. Jump into No Man's Sky understanding that it isn't a hard core space sim. Rather it is a slow paced exploration game where the journey IS the objective rather than a big boss battle.

Great at first
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I must admit, I had some excitement for this game. The first 6-8 hours were pretty magical. Fixing up my ship and exploring that first world was fantastic. But then you start to realize, that once you start warping and land on any planet, they are all pretty similar. It becomes a rinse and repeat action of warping, landing, mining and selling.

Has Potential
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this with high hopes for it. It is a visually excellent game, however the crafting leaves a lot to be desired. It is indeed fun to explore and discover new areas, but that does get old fast. I will keep returning with each update with the hopes of being able to team up with a buddy and explore the far reaches of the game universe.

Game has improves since release
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There have been about 3 major content updates since this games release last year. It is more of the game they have promised, and I actually would recommend it now.

Bought for the “NEXT” update
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great game, I never played it at launch when people were making fun of it for being boring so I can’t compare what used to be here. All I can say is it’s great now. There are a few glitches here and there, which can be expected with a large game made by a tiny company. Seriously check it out if you’re on the fence about it. For $20 this game will entertain you for many hours, days, months! The space combat is tight and ships control differently based on class, lots of aliens and weird species to discover on a variety of planets, customizable weapons and equipment load outs...so much to do in this game. Now it has multiplayer, which is fun. Random people can join my game, which has been entertaining. One time a kid kept asking me for help, so I gave him some antimatter for his ships warp drive. You can share and help others in this game, cool feature. The original “story” is kinda weird but they added 2 additional stories that have been fun. Seems like the updates fixed most of what people didn’t like about this game, feels like a deep space RPG now. I like it!

Doesn't Meet the Hype
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. No Man's Sky was very hyped prior to release and sadly it just didn't deliver. It very repetitive hopping from 1 planet to the next with no real goal. While the game focuses on exploration, everything kind of feels the same after a few hours. Not worth $60, more like $25.

It's fun at first
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's fun at first but then it gets repetitive. The thrill of taking off in your ship and flying off to another planet is exhilarating. But then all you do is explore and catalog plants and animals. There is somewhat of a story in the background that you learn about along the way. But I think the story should have been more prominent.
