Budget-Friendly Basics: The Nokia G10

The Nokia G10 in Night is a budget smartphone that provides average performance and features. The device has a basic design, with a large screen that provides adequate viewing quality, but falls short in performance compared to more premium devices.
The 32GB of storage provides ample space for basic use, but may fill up quickly for those who store a large number of photos or videos. The device has a decent camera, which provides acceptable quality photos, but falls short in device performance like opening apps and hangs some times compared to other smartphone.
Battery life is adequate, providing enough power to last a full day with moderate usage. The device runs on a basic version of Android, which provides a straightforward and simple user experience. However, the lack of more advanced features and a slow processor may be a hindrance for some users.
Overall, the Nokia G10 is an average device that provides basic features and performance. It is a good choice for those who are looking for an affordable smartphone for basic use, but may not meet the needs of more demanding users.

I had my “little” Nokia G10 phone for a few days. The phone is far bigger in size than I am used to (my last far older Nokia 2.0 which this was replacing is “only” 5 inches)! But I am adjusting rapidly. There are some unexpected benefits to having a larger size which I was not aware of when I selected this phone. I am an older person with not the greatest eyesight anymore. Which translates into I don’t have to slip on my glasses all the time just to use and/or read the text/font size on this phone anymore like on my earlier phone. The font size can be adjusted manually In Settings to what I need it to be. The virtual keyboard is far less likely for me to hit the wrong neighboring keys when I am texting as the spacing between them is also larger. A plus for people with bigger fingers or hands.
Being an unlocked phone does have additional benefits and options a locked carrier sponsored one never will have. I can choose to pick my phone carrier and move between them when *I* want to-all without the penalty of buying a new phone and/ or exchanging my phone number just to change to another GSM carrier. Although I am still perfectly happy with the now grandfathered “old”-though still very extremely cheap-3 Dollars A Month plan-therefore I have no need or desire to change carriers at this time. It also has a Dual SIM option. At this time I chose not to use this feature. My new phone functions just fine with one single SIM Card inserted inside right now. In the future, I can opt to add another SIM Card if I wish for any reason-even with a different phone carrier just like my previous Unlocked Dual SIM Nokia 2.0 did when it was in use and my only phone. Always my choice and whim, not some corporation’s one!
It is not only a 4g phone, but it recognizes and uses LTE when available (like where I live and work). While it is not 5g, the calls are crystal clear and the signal strength is very strong. Who could ask for anything more for the projected working life of this phone. I am sure 5g will become more popular and have more availability and a resulting price drop as time goes. Right now I don’t think it’s available where I live anyway, So I have no need or interest in having a phone that has a 5g option at this time.
Camera works just as well and nice as its predecessor. It takes clear sharp photos just as advertised. I do the photo editing on my laptop to avoid Google’s own $1.99 membership. While I can (and have) photo edit in a rather limited way on this phone for free, I prefer to do this on my laptop. I feel more comfortable on the laptop for fine tuning images anyway.
This phone has a few other surprising features that I am interested in and actually using. I like the ability to add both a custom ringtone AND notification sound alerts. I went online to my favorite free easy to use ringtone music editor and edited my chosen tune perfectly for both ringtone and notification usage in the time period allowed. Works great. Exactly what I wanted my phone to do. If you don’t want to be too fancy, there is a wide selection of pre-installed ringtones and notification sound options in the phone’s own Internal Memory to use just like any other phone has.
Plus are you aware some accessories are included in the box that you usually have to purchase separately? A snugly fitting clear vinyl phone case and a pre-installed screen protector was included! I really appreciate that part. It can add up to a good chunk of money if you have to factor in these needed products when purchased separately. They really do add to the durability of the product and extend it’s potential life. Most other phone manufacturing corporations only add these extras to it’s higher end products-if they do at all. The budget models usually only get the basic chargers and cables. Nice touch and already in use on my phone.
Going online via Wifi is also what I use my phone for too. I have 4 accounts listed in my Google Accounts to keep track of and use. So if I am too lazy to drag out my laptop at home or simply out and about in the world, the new phone has already managed my online life just as well.
So if you are on a inflexible budget, don’t need/want a fancy flagship phone with all the bells and whistles, yet still want the phone which offers: Unlocked, Dual SIM, larger clear screen, larger texts and fonts, great audio/video, nice camera, responsive to WiFi usage and commands, plus a few extra-features-to-play with/use feature options, this phone is for you.

Old phone was destroyed and needed something quick.
Nothing really impressed me for the $, so I bought this cheap phone. What a great move.
- Crazy battery life (2+ days using Google Maps, etc at full brightness!)
- microSD slot
- came with preinstalled screen protector and case
- Big screen (i actually want a small one)
- Decent camera
- AndroidOne device (has 3 years of security updates - and this model has Call Screening!)
I work on a computer for a living. If it were my primary computing device, my only frustration here would be the speed of the device - I would upgrade to the 500-600 phone. Here are my workarounds since some of the default apps are kind of slow:
- Trade Chrome for Firefox. Huge speed difference.
- Trade Messages for Textra. Amazing speed difference.
- Buy a microSD card for photos and video - got 128gb for $22. Internal memory is impractically small for pictures and video, you'll want to keep it clear for apps and updates.
- Turn off the Google Assistant button in Settings > Gestures
- Turn off "Pick up wake up" in Settings > Gestures, it is really annoying.
With those adjustments, I find myself not wanting a more expensive phone. YMMV.

Pretty happy with it. I'm not glued to my phone so it does the job for texting/emailing.
Had to buy this because my moto 6 no longer would receive calls, assume it has to do with 4G compatibility bands in my area. This phone has no issues receiving/making calls. I only charge it once every 3-4 days.
At first the GUI seemed slow at times but found out you can speed it up greatly by going into developer mode and changing the GUI settings from 1.0 to 0.5x (all 3 settings). What a huge difference.

This is my first smartphone, so I am learning as I go. The screen is large 6.5", which makes locating things on it very easy. The battery life is about 3 days, which means I don't need to worry about charging it every day. It has more features than I will ever use, but I like that they are available. It was reasonably priced, which is a plus.

I really like the phone, it's perfect for daily usage and the price is not too expensive and plus get 3 years support from HMD Nokia. The processor is 4GB which is decent with fast nor too slow but will get the job done, the battery life can go for a full day with heavy usage. Great international phone with dual sim. Only downside is no 5G only LTE. Overall a decent phone for the price.

Compared to my, no frills and thrills, 5 year old phone that finally bit the dust, this Nokia has already exceeded all my expectations. Purchased online and on sale with free shipping, this phone has the latest Android OS, a largescreen, more cameras, and way more storage than my previous phone. Yes the bar was set low, but when you go from a biplane to a stealth jet it feels immensely gratifying. Though no completely perfect (I've seen what my friend's latest iPhones can do), this phone has just enough (and a bit more) functionality, speed, and storages for daily use. There are some video glitches in some apps that are forgivable, and the sound, overall is kinda lacking but when attached to headphones, the sound becomes good. The battery life is rather good as well. Lasting for several day, when used sparingly. Other than what I mentioned before, this phones comes unlocked, with a screen protector already attached and a clear case cover. What more can you ask for? As a budget friendly phone, this phone a wild thrill ride!

The phone is good for the price and a good phone for a kid or teen. The phone does freeze or stutter at times. But the phone, in general, is a good deal. The build quality is good and the cameras are decent. The screen gets very bright and the battery life could last me a day or two.

Battery life is awesome for someone who only uses phone for calls, texting and some search. It’s down about 20% a day. Sound level and display are good. Reviews said phone lags but it seems ok to me, not being a gamer. Camera is ok. Could be a bit better but it’s an improvement over my older phone. Learning curve isn’t too steep for my tech challenged self. It seems intuitive and eventually
I figure it out. Can see the display outdoors so that’s a plus. It’s a bit like a brick at first compared to my former smaller phone, but being able to see the screen clearly is a plus. It came with a clear back cover to see the blue color case. Oh, no bloatware. Really like that. Overall, very happy I researched a lot of phones to choose this one. Now, if only Nokia would make a more affordable flip. We can dream!
